Whoo, great discussions all around guys! Sorry I have been MIA for a while. I have been lurking on tumblr and sitting on the sidelines with all the amazing theories and points you all have been making here and on tumblr.
Without regurgitating everything said, I do agree with Nealfire being selfish in his seemingly selfless act of getting back to a woman he claims he still “loves” and his son. What bothered me was how Roland said “I believe” once and nothing happened initially, and Neal wanted him to say it again, as if it wasn’t risky enough to say it the first time. Doesn’t he know anything from the Darlings situation and how risky it is to fight with the shadow?
He had to make a deal as Baelfire for the shadow to let go of the little brother Darling, and now that he is a man, he has not leverage. He purely has his objectives and Mulan’s swordfighting skills. What if that didn’t work?
Captain Swan is a beautiful thing. I love the subtlety in this last episode. The glances said it all, especially when Hook gives Emma the coconut so lovingly. It was a very intimate moment, as Snowing were clearly snuggling and this was Hook’s way of courting Emma. He is courting with her so much, it is not even funny. Trying to get on his good graces with David, complimenting Emma, flirting with her, and Regina calling him her boyfriend.
I think it would be wonderful if Hook legitimately is instrumental in saving David’s life. He already knows (which I thought was a great throwback to his keen senses) that David got nicked by the dreamshade blade. He was so sorry that David had to go through that. I wonder who “her” was. Was he really referring to Snow or Emma?
I predict he will save David and they will be a brotp officially. They already are, now, they can say it to the world!
Also, who has money on the fact that Tink and Hook had a thing in NL? Looks say it all.
MM will come around to Hook’s intentions with Emma. He is a patient man and he will find creative and multiple ways of showing the entire Charming clan that his intentions are sincere and that he truly cares about Emma. He keeps surprising Emma in a good way, and she will have to give in a little bit eventually.
Neal being the mix will definitely add a wrench to the whole ship, or just make it stronger. I think Hook will show Neal how he should have loved Emma the first time around. I also want to see some Henry/Hook interaction.

Let’s keep our fangirling in here as much as possible though. I think the other thread is mostly for general dissecting of what it all means and we can fangirl (a little more) safely in here without upsetting too many people. (Sorry you have to read everything RG!)
Ok this pic is seriously hot. Also (the article that goes along with it says this but) it’s real and she initiates it. Sounds like something good happens and she’s recognizing that he’s helping in a big way make this all happen. (It’s about bloody time!)
We need context. Massive massive context. We know it’s in 3×05 which is Hook’s backstory episode . We also know that Hook is impressing her with how much he’s been helping (YAY! She’s noticing!).
I’m more concerned with what happens after. This is Emma we’re talking about. The one who’s been so guarded. Her reaction to having just done that could be just about anything since she’s the one initiating it. She knows how Hook feels and does it anyway, but she might scare herself at having done so. I don’t want her walls to come back up too fast and I want him to keep breaking them down but I don’t know how much time they’ll have between that and when Neal joins them.
I need context. I need to see how she reacts. How he reacts. Does anybody see them? How do THEY react? I mean, we JUST had Regina call him her boyfriend and now, after not much time passes, she’s gonna initiate a kiss?
She’ll probably try to play it off but I don’t think he’ll let her get away with that. He knows her too well and she KNOWS he sees right through her. I fully expect him to say something about her walls and being too afraid (which will mirror what MM told her about Graham *RIP*).
Hook will see through her I have no doubt, and maybe it will make Snow take a closer look at how Emma’s behaving too? She called her out on the Graham thing so maybe if she HAS to see it (ie: she sees the kiss) then she won’t be so dismissive of it?
Emma Emma Emma. She initiates it which is a good sign but I could see her panicking afterwards too which has the potential to make things awkward and also the potential for there to be lots of emotional Hook. (Colin will be amazing. Just look at the sheer emotion on his face in that picture already and they haven’t even kissed yet!)
She’ll probably at least try to put her walls back up but we could get a lot of good conversation going and flustered Emma (Gremma memories *sniff*) as well as some hilarious quips from Regina.
I fully believe that Emma IS focused on finding Henry and that this is literally an adrenaline rush and something compells her to thank him in some way for doing something and she just can’t help herself (do you SEE the way he looks in that pic? who could blame her??) and then she’ll try to just focus on Henry again. She’s definitely not going to be walking through the jungle being all lovey dovey like she doesn’t have a care in the world but love finds people at the most unexpected (and often inopportune) time.
If anything, if she does put her walls back up, after making his feelings known about the situation Hook will probably just back off. He knows when to push and when not to. Just like he knew she needed a little space after fighting with her parents and listening to Rumple on the ship, and then went down later to share a drink with her that he didn’t even have to ask about. HE GETS HER. THEY GET EACH OTHER. CAPTAINSWAN IS BEAUTIFUL.
That picture is giving me all kinds of feels and we don’t get the episode for 1.5 weeks! We DO get the promo for said episode on Sunday night though where I will probably be flipping out. I wonder if they’ll tease the kiss? (Probably, this is the promo department that can’t keep much secret after all). I can only imagine the gazillion fics we’re gonna have this week on the kiss and each will be different!
Can’t wait to see how it plays out. I know a lot of my SF friends will be hurting and I feel bad I do, but it has been a long year of being told we’re delusional, and to get over our ship cause it’s not gonna happen, and here, after Snow reminded Regina that Emma JUST lost Neal, we have Emma KISSING Hook.
She doesn’t go around just kissing anybody. She’s no longer the fling kind of girl, she’s got a kid to worry about now, and being the Savior, and all that stuff. We’ve seen how Regina reacted to losing her true love and it’s taken her 40ish years to get to a place where she MIGHT be willing to move on. In 3×04, according to the promo, we are seeing Snow’s reaction at least the IDEA of losing Charming and she is FREAKING OUT.
I’d like to think that Snow will see the difference in that and realize that maybe Emma hasn’t been feeling what she’s projected onto her.
I just really hope they aren’t hyping it and it turns into a moment that ends badly. That’s my only fear.
Regardless though I am FREAKING OUT and can’t wait to see this moment in context. I need something good to happen for once. It’s our first official this is real and not just from Hook moment and we should revel in it. No idea how many we’ll get or what the future holds, especially once Neal gets back, but if we’re going to ship something like CaptainSwan, we have to settle in for the long haul and hope for the best.

Okay, shamelessly going to quote myself from a post I made after 3×02:

2) We got the line from JMo “they have an interesting dynamic, which does play out
3) The amazing Snowing kiss that followed the Charming/dwarves drinking scene (foreshadowing!!!)
we’re going to get a kiss this season. JMo has said that Emma isn’t thinking about romance, but that doesn’t mean that Emma won’t have any romantic moments. So I think we could get it before Neal comes back into the picture, and that would amp up the whole drama of it.
I would like to draw your attention to point 3. The foreshadowing. If you look at the way the Snowing kiss goes in that scene, Snow grabs Charming lapels and drags him close for a kiss and he put his hand on her hair/face.
Now look at the CS photo of the kiss.

I hadn’t even thought of that! I’m still too incoherent to be looking for parallels to Snowing kisses yet! Especially since we haven’t seen it play out yet but I do remember what you’re talking about now!
Hook and Charming have more in common than they’d like to admit, just like Snow and Emma do.
Yay for more parallels between CaptainSwan and REAL Snowing! I expect lots of gifsets from that episode especially! Master gifset list will have to be updated this season bigtime. So excited!
