Gah, there is so much goodness going on in this forum and I wish I could fully participate right now, but school is getting in the way again. Know that I peruse all of your comments as much as I can! I am going to burst soon if I don’t write down all my thoughts about 3.04, but alas, I will have to put a cork on it for now. *cries*
All of you have amazing opinions and evidence to back those said opinions up. Hence why CSers are NOT delusional.

Okay, so I have some thoughts to share.
Tallahassee was an episode that showed us past and present, primarily Emma’s past and her present. We saw snippets of her relationship with Neal and we also saw Hook and Emma working together as a team in the present. Theirs was and still is, a relationship that continues to play out in real time.
Looking back now, there’s a lot of nice symbolism and foreshadowing that happens in that episode. First, when Emma stops Hook from accidentally stepping on the trip wire. He’s all happy and excited and it was probably a moment where he thought something romantic was going to happen. Then, a moment later, Hook says, ‘everything we need is right in front of us’ and he says this as Hook steps across the screen in front of Emma.
He also said before walking away, “next time don’t stand on ceremony”
Then, this coming episode 3×05 “Good Form”
We get Hook’s backstory, not so much Hook but more Killian Jones about how he became a pirate. We’re going to learn more about his past and then we see him in the present. We will see Emma and Killian’s romance playing out in real time and when this kiss happens, Emma’s “not standing on ceremony” She’s going for it, no second thoughts, she’s living in the moment and she’s also realizing, what she’s needed all along, he’s been right in front of her the whole time. Killian.
This is brilliant writing on Adam and Eddie’s part. They are setting them up perfectly as True Love’s. If they weren’t meant to be, they wouldn’t give us Emma’s backstory/present in one episode and then a year later, give us a parallel episode with Hook.
It IS brilliant writing from Adam and Eddy (and also Christine!). I mean what are the odds that in one season you have Emma grabbing Killian in one episode and denying her feelings of attraction towards him and in the next season – 1 YEAR LATER – she is grabbing him again except this time she WON’T be denying her feelings for him.
100% agree, they have been setting them up as TL since 1×01, with the pirate doll in Emma’s nursery, the pirate ship picture in her room at Granny’s, Killian’s hand in Rumple’s shop, since “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter”, where Graham served no purpose to the overall story except to DIE IN EMMA’S ARMS (I mean seriously what are the odds?) and prove that she could move on from Neal.
And now next week there are going to be plenty more easter eggs for us to find, of that I am convinced.
Adam and Eddy are just incredible.
(Also, is anyone else watching that promo over and over?? I literally can’t stop. I need promo addiction counselling.)

Hi there! It’s been FOREVER since I have been here and posted and since I have listened to the podcast but . . . I am a proud CS’er now and with everything that is going I HAD tcome me back!!! (generalized squealing and jumping up and down with excitement).
So I am definately looking forward to next week’s episode and how they are going to introduce Neal back into the picture. Everyone has been talking about how Emma is going to deal with everything but I am actually more curious about how Hook is going to handle things when he discovers that Neal is alive after obviously dealing with his past memories of Baelfire and thinking he is dead. Hook has been able to be supportive of Emma and understanding of her past feelings about Neal and they have a shared “love” of Neal that actually brings them closer together. But I think this is what might actually be the thing that gets in the way of CS.
I think that as we find out more about Hook’s back story and the type of person he was before he became a pirate we will find that he was quite an upstanding guy. I think part of his character development could be finding who he used to be and learning to be that person again – I think we are already seeing him begin to do that in the way he has been with Emma (ex. telling her he just had to be reminded that he had the ability to care about someone beside himself). It’s been discussed here that he isn’t selfish with her, he allows her to make her own choices, and that he is doing everything he can to help her even though there isn’t anything in it for him.
The problem will be when he learns that Neal is alive his past feelings and memories for Neal and the guilt that he has about how he abandoned him could greatly affect him. I can see him thinking that he is being chivalrous by stepping back so that BOTH Emma and Neal have a chance to make their own choices and so they can decide if they want to be together. The problem is that Emma is so confused and angry right now that if Hook steps back she will read that as him not really being interested and instead of really allowing her to make her own choice, he could unknowingly make her “choose” Neal thinking that Hook isn’t really interested. Then he would also end up thinking that Emma “chose” Neal even though she really wants Him!! I can see this happening and K and H having Emma and Hook dance around each other for a very long time thinking the other one is no longer interested, when they are in fact their true loves.
To me this solves the issue of Emma and Hook suddenly ending up together immediately after she has JUST acknowledged a lifetime of emotions about Neal. It addresses the fact that Emma and Hook do love each other but sometimes timing isn’t always right and the baggage people carry can prevent them from making the right choices. Plus, let’s face it – there is a LOT of bizarro family tree discussion that needs to be addressed in that particular relationship and family (and I’m guessing some things that may change or be resolved in future episodes). So I think they both need some time to individually and together deal with those issues.
I do think that CS will end up together in the end. There are so many parallels with Snowing that I keep wondering if CS were meant to be together from the beginning somehow but things got messed up and their lives took these bizarre paths that true love has managed to lead back to each other. But I would honestly be disappointed if in the next few weeks they were suddenly a happy couple – something just doesn’t feel right about that to me yet. I love them together so much that I want to see lots of character development together!

Actually, we’ve already seen a lot of character development from both Emma and Hook respectively. We saw Emma realize at the beginning of season 2, how much her parents gave up for her and how much she gas grown to love them as her parents. Then, we got Hook wanting revenge on Rumpelstiltskin, failing repeatedly at it in the present throughout much of season two, only to begin to realize towards the end of the season that revenge is a lonely path and even if he does accomplish it, he’ll still be empty and without love in his life. Then finally, in the finale, he gave up his revenge so he can be a “part of something” and help rescue Henry.
As for Hook stepping aside once Neal comes back, or Emma running into his arms, Jen already confirmed that she’s not going to forget the what Neal did to her and run into his arms when they finally reunite. Adam and Eddie hinted that they are going to have a very honest conversation. I don’t think Hook/Killian would simply step aside unless Emma asked him too but knowing that she is loved by Killian and sees all the awesome things he’s been doing, helping her find Henry, I don’t think she’s going to forget that either and hook up with Neal.
