Hurray for the CaptainSwan thread!!! And a big thanks to Steliokontos for the awesome gifs!
I think most of us agree on one MAIN point: Hook saw right through Emma and he gets her like no one else does. Not even her mother gets what she’s been through (remember the first episode when Snow was all like, “Yay! The family is reunited!” and Emma was like, “Hey, hold on. I need some time to process this. I’ve been through some serious crap, here.” All Hook had to do was see the look in her eyes (the same look the Lost Boys have – ummm wonder if Hook was an orphan himself…)
What she did to Hook at the end of Tallahassee was her reaction to what happened with Neal. She could not allow herself to risk making that mistake again. And because Hook gets her, it’s just going to make him want to prove himself to her all the more. What we’re seeing this season is Emma’s struggle to overcome her own personal demons, issues related to her abandonment as a child and distrust of men. Hook is very perceptive and he sees what’s going on.
Not so sure about the Neal=Bae theory anymore, or if he’s Emma’s end game after all. All I know is this: when Emma sees him again, she’s not going to like it one bit. She’s had 11 years to let all of her disappointment, regret and anger fester inside. She’s not going to trust him. If he is her end game it’s going to take a while for him to regain her trust…..meanwhile we can only hope CaptainSwan gets stronger and stronger, and maybe she won’t even need Neal after all.
On a personal level, watching CaptainSwan is more fun than Emma-Neal. I find that Neal is a pretty dull character, at least so far, we might be in for a surprise. But I did not see anything outstanding except for a lot of cute smiles and winks. They were just a couple of kids together.

Did you ship Skate, too? Sigh….I’m getting this feeling all over again…Hook is like Sawyer on so many levels…hope this time the writers choose the right ship! 😀

You’re darn right I shipped Skate! Sawyer’s the best! <3 There is just SO MUCH potential for CaptainSwan that I hope they acknowledge it and go with it rather than tease us with awesomeness and then go the predictable way. One of the big reasons I loved Lost and now Once is that they start going somewhere seemingly familiar/predictable and then throw a curveball. Hopefully they build up to making us think it's going the other way but are so overwhelmed with the incredibleness that is CaptainSwan they change their minds and throw a curveball? *One can dream, right?*
I’m definitely interested in learning more Hook backstory. I wanna get to Neverland so we can see what his actual storyline is rather than the perceived villain status. All the promos got right so far is that he is a “charming swashbuckler” 😉
I always preferred the Hook movie to the original Peter Pan (and it plays on the idea of a grown up Peter – I can see this being a favorite of Eddie & Adam as well since Peter Pan is their favorite story) but I think we may get that + a new twist on Hook’s story too. Neverland sure sounds interesting and probably not the traditional story since nothing ever is around here. Can’t wait!

While I agree with you all that Emma and Neil are kind of boring, (especially if Neil is just a normal dude and not Baelfire or someone involved with another land) I’m not sure if I want Emma with anyone. I kinda just enjoy her being independent and focusing on her relationship with Henry. Although of all the relationship options Hook is certainly the most interesting one. So since I guess the show writers are looking to get Emma together with someone my vote would be for CaptainSwan.

So, I have a funny story to share. This came from my boyfriend (we both watch Once). He was at the pharmacy picking up something and the lady behind the counter was like, “You look like Captain Hook from Once Upon a Time.” 😆 😆
He has a little beard, no Hook accent and prior to him showing up, I was on tumblr, looking at gifs of Emma and Hook.
But I was like, if you’re Hook — I look nothing like Emma. I’m not even blond. I did ask him though if he can pull off a really good ‘Arggh!” because that’s what the stereotypical pirate says.

hahaha that’s a fantastic story! 😆 I love when random people say you look like someone especially if its someone you don’t know like “oh you look just like my neighbor’s cousin’s daughter”. I never really know what to do with that lol.

Awesome video! I actually laughed out loud when MM says, “Back away from my daughter1” after the kiss (from another show/movie obviously). I can see CaptainSwan is getting a lot of YouTube love already… 😆
