Captain Eala
ParticipantJust checking we’re all going nuts in here right?! Hook has to tell Emma he’s a man of honor I think if he plans to really win her over he has to let her know and do it the right way.
LOL NO WAY HE ISN’T GOING TO TELL HER
HE’LL STRUGGLE
BUT HE HAS SPENT THE LAST FEW EPISODES BEGGING CHARMING TO TELL HIS FAMILY HE’S DYING BECAUSE IT WOULD HURT THEM
HE WILL TELL, OF THAT I HAVE NO DOUBT

I hope he does the honorable thing and tells her. I am worried that Pan might do something. I can see him trying to drive a wedge between our lovebirds!

ParticipantCan I just say that Pan trying to use the prospect of sending Emma and Hook away together to get the Captain to do what he wants shows how much of a weakness Emma is for Hook. I think Hook is the one best able to beat Pan in his head games in other words he’ll see what Pan is up to and try to get in front of it before it comes back to bite him. People might say that Rumple being the most powerful is the only one able to beat Pan but what I’ve seen is head games are half of what Pan routinely tries to pull. In that department Hook sees him coming before anyone else and that being the case is the best equipped to best him in a battle of wits which is what Pan is doing with all of them so far.

ParticipantAlso did everybody notice how twitterpated both Emma and Hook were after they kissed?! It wasn’t just a random makeout that kiss struck them both deeply.

ParticipantOkay, trying to form my thoughts into something coherent but it’s difficult, so this might be a mess and all over the place.
I would like to start with the fact that haters that think Killian is a man without honour was just completely debunked by the writers, which we knew all along of course. That Killian, as a pirate, is inherently corrupt, a rapist, a killer. Eh… no. The irony here just kills me. He became a pirate to RETAIN HIS HONOUR. He became a pirate so as NOT TO KILL PEOPLE. He became a pirate to FIGHT AGAINST THE CORRUPT GOVERNMENT THAT KILLED HIS BROTHER. My god. He is the very definition of an anti-hero. Also, can I also just say, why, WHY must we see people dying in Killian’s arms in all his backstory episodes? I mean really. They’re trying to kill us here.
Haters argument debunked number 2: That Killian didn’t come back for Emma. Because if anyone still thinks that, they’re wrong, and also silly. Because it was reaffirmed SEVERAL times in this episode that he came back for her. LALALALALALA riding high on the winds of the seas using a Pegasus feather sail LALALALALALA
Tallahassee. I do believe that what I was saying about the “home” thing came true – the fact that both Emma and Killian lost their homes. It was extremely subtle but it was there. If that isn’t enough for you, then how about the fact that they played the Captain Swan theme during their kiss? Pretty sure we haven’t heard THAT properly since Tallahassee. We saw how Killian reacted to Charming telling him to stay away from Emma – “well it’s a good thing you’re about to die then” i.e. nothing is going to stop me from trying to be with her.
Captain Charming, can I just say, how far we have progressed. My goodness. We go from Charming thinking Killian is nothing more than a morally corrupt pirate to Charming respecting him. Killian saved Charming even though he knew he could be a detriment to his relationship with Emma. That is True Love and no doubt about it – “I didn’t do it for you” *wink*. He put Emma’s happiness above all. And as I’ve said before: Killian Jones is a man who values choice, and he gave Charming a very important one. After everything, Charming now respects Killian, even enough to GIVE HIM CREDIT FOR SAVING HIS LIFE in front of his daughter, basically giving Killian his blessing to persue Emma. This is how you OTP.
So on to Captain Swan. Agh. They showed us that first scene between them for a reason – to show that she is afraid to open her heart. She doesn’t want to bond, because she knows she could get hurt again. She was trying to push him away, yet again. You could also see the body language – very intimate, very much in each others personal spaces. Emma is at conflict with herself. And the STARING between them after that scene, my god, she couldn’t have made her own inner battle about him more clear. But yeah, if anyone still thinks that she didn’t kiss him because SHE FULLY WANTED TO they’re wrong. So so wrong.
Can we also talk about Pan trying to split them up at the end there. Because if that isn’t a HUGE NEON SIGN that they’re True Love I don’t know what is. He is trying to put obstacles between their happiness, and he’s doing that for a reason, something to do with Emma. Using Emma as leverage against Killian – well that is just a huge sign. Compare that to Rumple using Hook as leverage in 2×12. I mean really. How unsubtle can you get?
Can we also talk about the extreme amount of foreshadowing here that Emma will choose Killian? There was an awful lot of “she’ll never like you” “you’re just a pirate” “one-handed man with a drinking problem”. I mean seriously. Slap us in the face with it why don’t you?
So as I said earlier we did get a pretty big twist, a pretty big spanner in the Captain Swan works. Originally I thought that Killian would tell her about Neal after a struggle, and it will be a struggle, I mean he’s been selfish for 300 years and this is something that could prevent him from having Emma. He LOVES her, so naturally he’ll be TERRIFIED of losing her. Anyway, now i’m thinking that Pan will manipulate the situation so that Emma finds out that Neal is alive before Killian can tell her. And god, not going to lie, there’s going to be a lot of drama there, a lot of pain. Emma’s trust in him will be dented and it will be PAINFUL. But, something is going to go down, Killian will be instrumental in saving everyone. It’s the only thing that makes sense to me.
I have more thoughts but i’m so tired, I only got 3 hours sleep.

BlockedOkay guys I’m gonna give you two reasons why this episode IMO has basically confirmed CS as true love. BTW how amazing and romantic was that music playing. I saw some haters celebrating when the sneak peek came out that there was no music well AH you were wrong there was.
1. The villain is getting in the way. This is traditional true love storytelling. The big bad is always going to get in the way of the true loves and try to steer them away from one another. The villain will go manipulation tactics to try to get in between them and yet even then Hook did the honorable thing. Regina did this to Snowing for YEARS on end and in both situations the villain is the rival of the other. Hook and Pan are enemies in the tale the same as Snow White and The Evil Queen.
2. NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS if you were not going to have a couple be true love would you basically not only shout out but confirm that they are Once’s Buttercup/Westley from The Princess Bride. An iconic true love coupling. The writers and actors have also confirmed the shoutouts to The Princess Bride are completely 100% intentional. So by that interpretation we can just outright state that Hook loves Emma. “As you wish” in TPB was what Westley said to Buttercup and it meant I love you. This comparison in and of itself is huge and no one can argue it.

ParticipantAlso did everybody notice how twitterpated both Emma and Hook were after they kissed?! It wasn’t just a random makeout that kiss struck them both deeply.
Lol – nope it wasn’t random, and both of them were VERY emotional about it.
EDIT: I’ve heard that some of the haters are saying Emma was drunk when she did it. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
They actually made the kiss a lot more family friendly too – maybe that was the reason they released it as a sneak? It was 10 times hotter in the sneak, everybody should watch it haha.

Yep, it was really happening!!! 😉 I’ve been waiting for it all season long and had a feeling they might show it in the kiss scene…
@hookian, COMPLETELY agree, we have been told over and over again that they are TL, except in this episode they took EVERY OPPORTUNITY THEY COULD to hit us over the head with it.And yes, that CS theme was a piece of UNBELIEVABLY beautiful music. They have their own theme, JUST LIKE SNOWING. Like, both of their themes are EQUALLY as epic. And Swanfire’s theme – “Tallahassee” just DOES NOT COMPARE.
But literally, like there is no point to a villain trying to stop a romance from happening in a story other than to prove the villain wrong. That’s what makes a good story. Pan is shoving Neal between them for a REASON, as if it hadn’t already been clear to us that Neal is the obstacle to CS and not the other way around. And the dialogue in that scene, well it was all about playing on Killian’s insecurities, that he’s not good enough to get the girl, that she’ll never love him, and that’s why he’s going to wrestle with telling Emma about Neal, because he thinks he’ll lose ALL chance of having her.
Let me just reiterate again how important it is that Killian saved Charming’s life (and gave him his choice in the matter) when doing so could have possibly meant that he and Emma may not have a chance to have a relationship. I MEAN REALLY, THAT IS TRUE LOVE.
AND CAN I ALSO POINT OUT that while previously Rumple was EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO KILLIAN’S STORYLINE he wasn’t in this episode at all. It’s all about Emma now. And we were reminded of that here there and everywhere that Killian’s story now revolves around Emma. THAT IS HUGE.
There was a Snowing kiss at the beginning of the episode but seriously, the fact that both Snowing and CS had a kiss back-to-back is yet another neon sign saying “pay attention to this!!! CS are just like Snowing!” While the kisses did bookend the episode the fact that one follows the other is significant.
The “as you wish” line has been confirmed by the cast and Christine Boylan that it was put there deliberately as a parallel to the Princess Bride, and you just don’t confirm a parallel to a couple like Westley and Buttercup unless you’re endgame, seriously it would be suicide for the show. I mean, Westley and Buttercup had “the kiss, the most passionate and pure that left them all behind”. THEY’RE HITTING US WITH A TRUE LOVE SLEDGEHAMMER GUYS.
Yeah, so I think Killian will ultimately decide to tell Emma about Neal, but it’ll be just that bit too late, and *stuff* will hit the fan with them. The audience will probably see that he decided to tell her though, and it’s going to huuuuuuurt so badly when Emma finds out he knew and didn’t tell her. We are going to be in AGONY. But you see, the very fact that I believe they are setting up this conflict is what’s so significant. We were TOLD that the Captain Swan ship won’t be smooth sailing by Adam. We have been warned. I mean, why would they even INTRODUCE this element of rockiness to the CS ship if Swanfire were endgame? What would be the point? Because Swanfire is not endgame, that’s why.
Oh yes, and forgot to mention, Pan offered Killian an easy way out of NL and a way to take Emma with him, aka the easy way out. Which Killian didn’t take. And some other person did several times over. Just saying.

ParticipantGah and I would also just like to say:
That I really admire the writers for, you know, highlighting that Killian has a drinking problem. That was certainly a brilliant move. We saw that as Young!Killian he had no tolerance for the stuff, and thought it was bad form. Well, it is my prediction that once Emma brings him all the way back to Killian he won’t touch a drop of it ever again.
Would also like to point out that Killian was referring to Emma as “Emma” and not “Swan” all through that episode to her face. When she calls him Killian I will LITERALLY DIE.

Lol, Matt knows where it’s at!!!!!! 😉
Captain Swan fans everywhere are without a doubt the happiest folks on the planet right now. It’s certain that was definitely not a ‘one time thing’ and that’s what’s most lovely. Up until this breathtaking moment, they never truly realized how profoundly attached they are to one another. This is a pairing that’s been hinted for quite sometime now, and it’s blossoming perfectly. They compliment each other remarkably whether it’s fighting side by side or silently and subtly comforting one another. Noted references in text are always a sweet form of foreshadowing: “That day, she was amazed to discover that when he was saying ‘as you wish’, what he really meant was, ‘I love you’. And even more amazing was the day she realized she truly loved him back.” Plus,Colin O’Donoghue has stated that his character has been inspired by the Dread Pirate Roberts. This is no coincidence; it’s great writing, and lovely story telling. Essentially writers are creating a new fairytale for Emma, and being from our world, she’s probably seen The Princess Bride, which is what makes this moment exquisitely fascinating. Her life is unfolding as a fairytale in front of her and when she actually has time to think about it all, she’ll see how wondrous, magical, and real their bond truly is. BUT the beloved Captain’s happiness is fundamentally short lived as Pan approaches with something that’ll prove just how deeply he cares for Emma. Neal is alive and he has the choice to tell her or not.
We predict that he will. He could’ve made a deal with Pan and gotten off the island to be with Emma, but knowing she’d never want that, he made the selfless choice. He’s done everything for her. She’s brought out Killian Jones again. It’s no secret how ardently he admires her and now, in order to be the honorable man he is, he’ll tell her about Neal, but at the same time he won’t give up on her. It’ll be subtle but his comforting ways will remain. There’s no denying the spark in between them. What’s to come is definitely going to be remarkable.
