I can’t wait for any of it! Chomping at the bit for sure!
We’ve seen Hook open the Jolly Roger to Emma so it’s great that we’ll see Emma opening the bug to him!
Both have so much meaning to each of them but ALSO represent the past and I don’t see either saying “you have to get rid of it because it’s associated with ___” – it’s a part of who they are! So I’m taking this as a good sign.
I do feel bad for my SF friends as I’m sure they’re freaking out because it’s typically associated with them (and we never had the ability to do that about Hook’s ship because we never really cared so much for his relationship with Milah so it doesn’t bother us as much but in thinking about it, it really was an iconic thing for them too) but I do get territorial over shipper items (coconuts are in contention this season which is driving me bonkers) but I will not ask that Killian get rid of his ship (unless he wants to) and therefore I cannot ask Emma to ditch her bug even after choosing Killian (unless she wants to) – both of which are doubtful.
The history with these three is so intertwined it’s ridiculous. A lot of the things that Neal taught Emma may have been learned FROM HOOK for all we know. Some things are definitively associated with one side (I don’t see Emma and Hook sharing a dreamcatcher thing ever for instance) but with some things, like methods of transportation, what’s good for one is good for the other and they’re such iconic and important parts of what makes them who they are (and the struggles they went through living in each) that I have to make an exception to what is usually a hard and fast rule for me.
It’s sad that it does crossover but guess what, SO DO THE PEOPLE. I would PREFER for them to not have any crossover like that, but again – we can’t enjoy any moments for Hook & Emma on the Jolly Roger if we focus on the past and the same has to be true for Emma’s bug. There’s just no way around that and short of her getting back to Storybrooke and immediately trading in her car what else is she supposed to do?
I know this is rough and unfortunately a huge part of Emma was associated with her past (just like Hook and his ship), but a line has to be drawn somewhere. I still resent Neal using a RumBelle line, and I take issue with coconuts suddenly meaning Tallahassee/home for Emma & Neal *grrrr* instead of the coconuts that Hook and Emma shared (we had it one episode earlier *grumbles*), but with certain things there HAS to be some kind of crossover. Henry – non-negotiable. Obviously she can’t give him back and erase him from her life. She DID give back the swan keychain/necklace though which is the only time we’ve seen her give a keepsake back. Ever.
Believe me I would much rather see them make memories somewhere that ISN’T associated with EITHER of their past loves, but there has to be some crossover at some point because they are involved and can’t erase every little thing in their lives that relates to the past. They CAN however, choose to move forward and not FOCUS on the past. And again, right now that’s her method of transportation. The car is all she has and they’re on dry land so it’s not like he can offer his ship again right now.
I look forward to many more things in the future that ARE just Hook and Emma’s so we don’t have any of this mess. I’m sure a lot of fans are going to be really upset and sending Adam a ton of hate for daring to use such an iconic item (even though personally I associate it with EMMA since she actually lived in it the longest, regardless of who she met when she stole it), but I can see how that would be very very troubling and I’m torn as I can’t imagine certain things ever being shared with anyone else, but at the same time some things are just inevitable.
I can’t imagine Emma without the bug or Hook without the ship. It’s part of who they are. Hook let Emma onto his ship and now Emma is letting Hook into her car. If anything it’s nice symbolism and a reclaiming of things that are THEIRS and allowing someone new into their personal space and moving forward with their lives rather than focusing on & cherishing the past to the point where it consumes them and doesn’t allow them to move forward. Whatever right Neal may have once had to the car and his time there with Emma, it ran out when he didn’t come back after the curse was broken (likely how she feels about it but since we never got a conversation about it we don’t know for sure *grrr I’d love to have heard that*, and continued to try NOT to come back after that. Perhaps if he is witness to her driving the bug AND seeing Hook in the car we’ll finally get that convo? I’m sure it would pain him to see her not only choose Killian but see him in “their” car so it would make for drama.
I really really hate feeling remotely hypocritical because I can’t stand 99% of the time associating anything (other than a person) with conflicting ships but I don’t really see any way around objects LIKE THIS. It’s sad but true. Short of trading in both I’m not sure how you can erase everything.
Something to ponder: Does Rumple spinning with Belle get destroyed because he once taught Cora how to spin? Is the spinning wheel (a very big, iconic part of his past) tarnished by the fact that many many years ago he taught someone he loved how to spin and then ended up with someone else? NO – because RumBelle is TL and the past is the past and it’s a part of him and always will be but he’s MOVED ON to the point where IT DOESN’T MATTER anymore because he LOVES BELLE.
Here’s to more things we CAN call our own and have this be only the beginning! I still want context though. BIG TIME.

I’m a little hesitant to put QUITE that positive of a spin on it but I am VERY curious about what exactly is going on! Looking forward to it regardless because it’ll be just the two of them in the bug and she IS dressed up! but I want to see how we get there and get a little closer to it or get more information before jumping completely to that. This should be part of 3×11 which means some kind of cliffhanger to tide us over to the 2nd half of the season so not sure if they’d do anything like a date for CS without worrying about keeping people tuned in for the 2nd half.
I’ll be super surprised if we do finish the triangle early (it would be nice so we could focus on other things) but we’ve got a lot of ground to cover before getting to 3×11 for sure.
That said – we did see (and learn it’s genuine) that Emma wishes he were dead because it would be easier for her to move on, and that she wants to put him behind her. All of which are good arguments for her NOT going back to him and continuing to build something with Killian (with obstacles along the way – probably a lot of “almost conversations” similar to Ariel/Eric, and even Emma/Hook when she reached for him right after his secret was revealed but didn’t get the chance to actually react to it before everything else went down and then he took off to lead the quest to find Tink (before doubling back to listen in).
Can’t wait for Sunday so we can see how the Emma, Hook, Neal mission goes. It *looks* like we should get a little CS alone time but probably not for long so things will likely take time to be addressed more properly. Right now there’s a lot of things that people THINK are the case (namely Hook in thinking that Emma is happy Neal’s back and him planning to fight for her) but it’s a case of misunderstanding right now. Once that all gets cleared up it could be the end of the triangle if Emma makes it clear that she’s not going back and nothing he can say now will change that.
Colin, JMO etc have said from the start that nothing more will likely happen right now because Henry is the priority and it makes PERFECT SENSE that Emma would try to block the rest out, especially now that she finds herself in the midst of a very awkward triangle but I maintain that Hook isn’t the obstacle to SF at all: Neal is. And I think Emma made it pretty clear where she stands on that right now.
I would love love love it if they wrap up the “triangle” quickly but Emma does have a lot of things to process from the past before that can happen – pretty sure Hook isn’t going to swoop in and get her just because she’s hurting and vulnerable right now. He NEEDS her to work through that stuff first so that it’s legit. He wants her to want him, but he wants and needs it to be REAL because he has very real feelings involved here. He reads her better than ANYONE (and has from the start) and he’ll KNOW if something’s up and it’s not legit. He may want to believe it but he won’t let himself without a good reason, especially since she’s rebuffed his advances thus far (though nothing in a remotely final way, whereas her reaction to Neal in and outside of the cave pretty much screamed breakup speech to me).
Emma owes it to herself to figure everything out first, ESPECIALLY if that means having to fight with people she loves about her choice (you KNOW Henry’s not going to immediately be happy about this and he’s who she’s been fighting to rescue all season so I can’t see her turning around and going on a date right away). Also, this is from 3×11 which should be fast-paced, lots of things going on, cliffhanger time. So I am very very curious why she is wearing that outfit and going somewhere in the bug with Hook. Regardless of why they’re there or what they are doing, it is a GOOD sign for us because he is still right by her side, proving himself every step of the way, and eventually she will realize that.
In this type of situation, you don’t go into the right relationship and then decide to go back to the screwed up one. You go back to the screwed up one and then realize how right the other one is and that you took them for granted and never will ever again. (It’s also WAY more acceptable: going back to the ex is “safe” and “easy” and understandable because feelings were there that need to be sorted to move on. Trying out the new guy, deciding it doesn’t work, and THEN going back to the ex is exactly what I hated most about the Neal/Tamara situation and him never choosing until Emma was the only option).

I love that this season they’ve been doing the press releases after each episode for the next one instead of knowing so far in advance (especially jumping from 3×07 to 3×11!) but at the same time I reallly want some context for this stuff!
I can’t seem to wrap my head around why Hook and Emma (especially dressed like that!) would be driving around somewhere alone in a mid-season finale. Too much stuff is usually happening and they mostly walk around SB anyway. When was the last time we even saw anybody in the bug? Henry sat in it while they were in FTL, Emma tried to drive Henry out of town, Emma went searching for MM all over town, but for the most part she walks – so why is she driving around with Hook and dressed like that? Are we realllly getting a CS date at the mid-season finale when so much else is probably going on too? I NEED CONTEXT!
I swear the last couple days worth of spoilers are enough to fry my brain! We have so many things to work with and none of them make perfect sense yet! I wish some stuff hadn’t been spoiled though because as much as I love looking at it, some of it would have made for an even better surprise! Guess that’s what happens when they insist on filming outdoors in Steveston! It was fun while it lasted, theorizing off the crumbs without outright spoilers. Now I don’t even know what to make of them but I imagine Adam is getting tons more hate than usual in the last couple of days, and given his #nospoilers policy, he’ll be hearing about it for weeks before and after those episodes air. Poor guy. =/

Ok I just saw a video of this scene Captain Swan in the yellow bug now I can’t say for sure but I think they might be about to go out somewhere and the part we see in the video is him opening the door for Emma then getting in the passenger side.
I have a theory now I’m thinking after all the big Pan scenes the battle and fighting basically after the dust settles we’re getting this quiet calm Captain Swan scene of them about to go out somewhere and they’ll leave us in the mid-season finale with Hook and Emma driving off in the yellow bug!
It might just be a overly optimistic Captain Swan shipper’s wish but I so hope that’s how it goes down!

Okay, i have calmed down a tad now, and agree that it may not be a date. HOWEVER, there is a fairly persistent rumour that this is a scene from 3×12. A date would totally fit in with my theory that Emma realises she loves Killian in 3×11!!! Just saying
