Okay I seriously need to get some thoughts out.

On the hug and the NY thing, I definitely don’t think they’ll be a couple by then. I know the VCF guy said that they’re acting couple-y but to be honest THEY ALWAYS DO. Their body language always tells that story. I showed my mam some scenes from Dark Hollow and asked her what guy she thought Emma was with – surprise surprise, her answer was Killian. But in saying all that – I do think that the hug is VERY important. The fact that Emma hugs him back – it shows that she NEEDS that comfort. It shows that she’s letting down her walls with him for just a few seconds – because she trusts that he’ll help her to feel better. Emma Swan is not a huggy person – more often than not in hugs she is a grudging participant. So the fact that the VCF guy says it’s MUTUAL is important.

Now, on to some things about her relationship with Neal that I’ve been thinking over for a few days. I don’t think ANY CSer has said that Emma doesn’t love Neal – heck it’s hard to ignore since she’s said it a few times. In 3×04 I even expressed how HAPPY I was that Emma finally got some of her grief about loving Neal out into the open.

But i’m seeing a lot about how SFers think that Emma is running away from her feelings for Neal and taking the easy way out with Killian and i’m like….. say what? Emma is not in denial about her feelings for Neal in the slightest. She knows that she loves him, and she knows that she probably always will. She has said this, MULTIPLE TIMES. So I fail to see how Emma is in ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, running away from those feelings. It’s the PAIN associated with those feelings that Emma has to overcome in order to move-on.

And i’m also loving how, this time last year, it was “CS will never happen”, and now suddenly, it’s something that has to play out so Emma will stop “denying” her feelings for Neal, like Emma having a relationship with Killian will suddenly “open the way” for Swanfire again. And again, i’m like…. say what? How does that make ANY sense? How does that make any sense with the established rules for TL on this show??? First of all, it’s not TL if you fall in love with someone (which Emma is doing) while your current ~True Love~ is still alive. Could Snow ever have feelings for anyone other than Charming while Charming was around and by her side? No. Could Belle ever have feelings for anyone other than Rumple while Rumple is around? NO. So why would it be any different with Emma and Neal?? The incoherency of this argument literally baffles me. So Emma has to develop a romantic relationship with Killian in order to realise her feelings for Neal? WHAT?

Emma will NEVER enter into a relationship again unless she’s sure of her feelings for someone, and, most importantly, that she can trust them with her heart, that she can trust them not to hurt her. So when Emma finally (and consciously) lets down her walls permenantly and lets Killian in, it will be because she trusts him to hold her heart in his hands and not crush it.

I also find it highly suspect that some shippers are saying that Emma will have to stop denying her feelings for Neal and yet, DO NOT SEEM TO BELIEVE THAT AFTER HAVING A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP WITH KILLIAN HER FEELINGS FOR HIM WOULD ALSO NEED TO BE ADDRESSED? Again, completely illogical IMO.

And to round off this post, I found this on tumblr and it IS PERFECT.

When it comes to CS. It’s not a “will they, won’t they” deal we are watching unfold before us. It never was that sort of deal. It’s just not how this particular story works. You know who winds up together. It’s not about the end. It’s about the journey. The creators have repeatedly & specifically said that. It’s not the end, it’s the journey. They’ve made it clear each & every time who was going to be with & stretched & twisted out the how; the journey. That’s why this show is less plot driven & more character driven. They wanted to tell the stories of how the Evil Queen became the Evil Queen. How Grumpy became Grumpy. How Snow White & Prince Charming met. So, why does it surprise anyone that it’s not about who Emma’s true love is but how they get together & navigate their life together? Why does it surprise anyone that they aren’t making any mistakes & being subtle about his identity in Killian? It’s about the how.

I guess people are so used to the “will they, won’t they” that they have no idea what to think or how to handle a story that says to heck with that.

Glad to hear the numbers are doing well!

I still have faith based on everything we’ve been shown. Even when other options seem to suddenly scratch the surface it’s not enough to overwhelm the abundance of other stuff we’ve been given, ESPECIALLY without context and from what I’ve been hearing spoiler-wise, we have the roadtrip and a HUG to look forward to and Emma doesn’t hug just anybody so it’s important bonding time. Plus Henry and Hook in the car presumably so that’s important too!

Part of me will always be afraid that we’ll take a sudden turn in the next few eps and that Emma will randomly revert back but with everything we’ve been given, it’s hard to think that. They’ve had several good opportunities to do something with that and haven’t, but have been building CS all season and we know they continue to spend time together and that Emma trusts him so I’m focusing on that. There are just too many possibilities about what the spoiler shots may mean! I wish we didn’t have to wait so long for the hug though, I really want the context of that!

I don’t know how we survived before this season, I really don’t. We’ve been spoiled with having only 1 little break in the first half and it’s already making me crazy!

Can’t wait to see what happens when the group’s all back together since they’re spread out right now! In one of the shots from the promo, Hook is standing right next to Charming and they both look concerned. In another shot Emma is near Charming and I don’t know where Hook is. I really want to see how the Emma/Hook reunion goes though. I LOVE that Hook volunteered him and Tink to stay behind and do what Emma needed him to / where he would be most helpful. He showed belief in her again when he said they’d all meet up at the Jolly Roger – like there was no doubt in his mind that she would go get Henry and he’d see her again soon, even though he didn’t get to say goodbye before they parted ways. (That shot of him in the distance after Charming said goodbye to Emma was heartbreaking and unnecessary except to show how hard it was for Hook not getting to say goodbye to her because he’s doing his best to follow her orders and focus on the mission. It was a HUGE father/daughter moment (since we rarely have any) and they chose to show us Hook’s reaction.) Significant? I think so.

I really really hope we see Hook and Tink talk. I think maybe if the episode picks up right after the green glow we will though. She’ll probably see a look on his face that she equates to worry and he’ll say something about not being worried because Emma’s fine, he can feel it. (Hope that’s how it plays out! I always love Charming just knowing and making everyone else feel good about it even when he’s apart from Snow, so I’d love to see Hook have that kind of a moment with Tink who is the only person he can talk to about it.) I also really want Tink to call him out on his feelings and see him have a chance to talk to someone because he has nobody but Emma or her protective father, neither of which he can talk to about anything going on right this moment, especially his feelings  toward Emma. It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s confident when he’s trying to talk to Emma so that she sees how real it is for him but that he has moments of doubt when he’s on his own and if he does, Tink would be able to be his confidant. There has to be a reason they left Hook and Tink alone, yet we saw none of their interaction except when they were blown away by the green glow.

I really just want the group back together and to get out of there, but I expect there’s more to some of these little moments on the way to getting back together that may prove useful/insightful. Emma had more meaningful interaction with Hook in their very brief screentime than she did as part of Team Parents with way more screentime. They could easily have done something with that on the way to save Henry or getting Wendy out of the cage or something and they didn’t. So many opportunities I was surprised as I expected it to be more even but it really hasn’t been. So again, cautiously optimistic. Adam keeps saying they’re telling stories, not doing unnecessary triangles and that the supposed triangle isn’t steering the plot or the show. That gives me hope, especially since we’ve been saying for awhile that it isn’t so much a triangle as watching Emma move on from her past like Hook has been all season.

Still so excited that Charming and Emma talked about Hook! Wish we could have seen it but Charming keeps surprising me and I think he’s on Hook’s side a bit more now! He didn’t have to make up the elaborate story to paint Hook as a hero to cover up for the fact that he had been poisoned but he did. He toasted him and made sure Emma knew about it. On top of that, and AFTER the kiss since there wasn’t time before that, Emma must have talked to Charming about something related to all of that (not sure of the details) and Charming told her about Liam. So either Emma tried to talk to her dad about Hook (without mentioning the kiss) and THEN tried to talk to Snow, or Charming offered up information in a conversation we just didn’t see in an effort to explain why Hook would do something like that. Either way – Emma and Charming talked about Hook and his good side!

This episode added to that. We had very little on-screen CaptainCharming but not only did we find out about the fact that Charming told Emma about Liam, but Charming also gave up his sword to Hook. Hook has his hook which isn’t much in a swordfight granted, but it’s more of a weapon than David has on his own. The moment that Rumple took Hook’s sword, Charming’s hand was on his and then when Hook thought he wouldn’t have a weapon after all since Rumple clearly planned on using his sword, Charming tossed him his and got an actual thank you from Hook. He gave up his weapon to the man he knows is in love with his daughter and who has proven himself to be someone that Charming can respect. (They’re so much alike at times it’s ridiculous but I love these two!)

Lol! You know I can’t watch OUAT on Sunday. I also found out recently that ABC is moving Revenge to 10pm Sunday, so that’s going to change my life too. Lol.

I agree with you MysteryKat.

Captain Swan isn’t a phase to help Emma realize that she can only love Neal. The girl has expressed more than once that she wants to move on on with her life. I don’t see that as her running away from her feelings, she just doesn’t want her fears/emotions to control or dictate her anymore and they shouldn’t.

I also saw earlier that Hook has a type that he falls for, ‘mothers’ — and that just makes me want to bang my head against a wall. I don’t think he falls in love with mother’s on purpose.

I don’t think he fell in love with Milah because she was a mother. That’s not the reason why he fell in love with Emma either. The fact that Milah and Emma are both mothers, is something that is unique to their characters.

Now, if you we find out in a different backstory that Hook does have mommy issues, that’s a different argument altogether but we haven’t gotten that story yet and if it were a driving force for him falling in love with women who happened to be mothers, I think Adam and Eddie would have brought it up a LONG time ago.

I managed to watch the episode – which really was amazing!! The eps get better and better every week! Now we have to wait 2 weeks, that’s really not fair and I don’t know how I’m supposed to wait that long! 😉

I love the fact that Henry seems to be with Emma and Killian in the bug and NYC.  🙂 Henry needs to get to know Killian and maybe warm up to him. Also, it would mean a lot to Emma seeing Henry being comfortable around Killian. What do you guys think about the theory that Neal is in jail there and that CS searches for a way to get him out of there? I doubt they’d do that – It doesn’t seem like they want to bring up Tamara any time soon and if Neal is in prison than only because of her disappearance. The thing with the watches would be lapsed, wouldn’t it? What is with the potion Killian keeps showing to Emma? I’m sooooo curious and want to see all this like NOW! 😉

It’s not going to happen though, I think 3×09 will be much like 3×08 – action, action, action (and not to mention that it looks like they return to the island under duress… they’re tied to a tree in one scene?? IDK) although I am hoping for one good CS moment since Christine and Daniel have written the episode.

I agree! Although I think Emma’s determination to do whatever it took to get back to Henry made her all the more… fanciable… in his eyes. Lol 😉
