yes it would! I would hope Hook letting Nealfire have his chance first would help it not end up going as badly. You know like to the point where they become bitter rivals like Hook and Rumple were for so long. There’s a little of a broings on between Hook & Bae so it would suck to have them end up that way.

This scene is Killian Jones trying to be Captain Hook BUT IT IS NOT WORKING, because he is in PAIN.
Yes, i agree, this is what MysteryKat and I have been saying. He is hurting so much and it literally kills me. It really does. Captain Hook/Innuendo/Sass are his defence mechanisms – his way to deflect from his hurt. He was SO ALONE in this episode – everyone else was hugging and happy to see each other and no-one was happy to see him. His only literal tie to SB is Emma, and he backed off from her for the sake of Henry. So IMO it was completely natural for him to seek out refuge from his pain in alcohol and sex. The alcohol to numb the pain, the physical closeness and intimacy, no matter how meaningless, to help assuage the loneliness that he’s feeling because he loves Emma so much and isn’t sure it’s reciprocated. Him trying to make Emma jealous was completely normal and human – he just wants to see if all their understanding, the closeness he had experienced previously with her, was still there in some form. And he got his answer, I think.
What was interesting was that Emma was just as alone as he was in this episode. Henry was off with her, her parents and Neal were pushing and prodding at her. Killian was keeping his distance. She was at the docks when she was supposed to meet Neal for lunch. She claimed she was thinking about Henry but i don’t 100% believe that – the docks aren’t a place she would associate with Henry, the castle is, the very castle that was mentioned in this episode. I think she was unconsciously seeking Killian, and the support and faith that he had given to her in NL.
I just think it’s important to note that in an episode where Killian was keeping his distance, both Emma and Killian were miserable.
Also important to note was the fact that Neal said he would “stop bugging her” if she didn’t show up for lunch. Guess what – she didn’t. Which means that she is okay with those consequences.
@HE – your opinion is reeeeally welcome!!! It’s nice to see somebody being nice about Hook for a change, and praising him for what he did last night with regards to Henry. You’re awesome! 😉

@HE – I’m like you, i really want Tamara to be addressed. If only to help make Neal a more fully fleshed out character.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Emma and Killian were happy together on NL, that Emma said the one time she felt good was when she kissed him, that he told her the fun would start when they returned to SB, that he was able to lift her spirits, etc. but now that they are apart they are both miserable. I think they used this week to set us up for what is going to happen next week. I do think Emma is finally going to willingly let her walls down next week.

I’m absolutely sure that she is in love with him just as much as he is with her.
I just can’t wait for the moment that they say it OUT LOUD to each other.
EDIT: Having so many CS feelings, had to post the “Timeless Love” promo for Valentines day from last year that CS were in!!! Wonder if we’re going to get something similar this year???

So I realized something (actually after reading a post on the SF thread). When Emma needed a way for Henry to prove he was really Henry she asked him to tell her about the time they “first connected” – not the time they first met but when they first connected. Because she said that life wasn’t just about events that happen but emotional connections that other people can’t necessarily be aware of.
Henry says that he remembers that the first time they connected was when they were at his castle and she told him why she “gave him up.” She asked him why and he said “So I could have my best chance.”
Interesting and cannot be coincidental that Hook in a manner of speaking “gave Emma up” by deciding to step back to do exactly the same thing – to give Henry his best chance. It’s interesting to me that they brought that up now as a reminder that having that discussion was how Emma and Henry first connected. Because Killian and Henry are going to need to get to know each other and Emma needs to know that any man she dates has Henry’s best interests at heart, and Henry needs to be able to trust anyone his mom dates. This will be especially important to Killian given his history in this area with Bae. So being able to connect with Henry is very important. And we were given a reminder that both Emma and now Killian have given up people they love to make sure Henry has his best chance.

Yep 🙂 Both Emma and Killian were thinking of Henry’s best interests and I cannot deal with it. They were totally on the same page.

Could be shipper goggles, but “super special” to me indicates a big CS moment of some kind, since JMo is quite obviously a CS shipper. She was practically squealing along with us at the first “As you wish” line. So…. are we getting a possible third “as you wish”, where Emma realises she loves him back? The feelingsssssss

I’ve seen some people pointing out the parallel of MM sleeping with Whale and Hook hitting on Tink
So out of curiosity, i went and looked up the quote:MM: You ever walk into a situation, where you know exactly what’s going to happen and then you go into it anyway. And then, when what you’re afraid of happens, you kick yourself. Because you should’ve known better. But that’s just who you are. It’s like you’re punishing yourself.

That’s exactly what happens to Hook in this episode. He tells Neal he’s going to back off KNOWING that it’s going to lead to Neal asking Emma out. But he goes through with it anyway.
And when Neal does just that—and of course Hook is probably staring straight at the two of them the whole conversation because that man does not do subtle—Hook proceeds to get plastered and spends the rest of the day/next morning punishing himself and drowning in a fit of self loathing.
So yeah, this is one hell of a parallel. MM sleeps with Whale not long after she says this, because she’s looking to feel something other than pain, even if it’s fleeting. And Hook tries to seduce Tink for the same reasons.
D-d-d-d-double standards, fandom.
