ParticipantFirst of all, I don’t know where you got that the ratings are bad.
They reported a slight drop – from over 8 million to just over 7 million.
OUAT is one of the top 25 rated shows right now.As far as the writers ‘owing’ anything to the fans, they ‘owe’ us a story.
Their story. The one they want to tell.
It’s up to us whether we choose to watch it or not.How arrogant of some people to think they can tell someone else’s story better then that person can!
As far as CS goes – can it happen? Sure it can.
And if it does, CS fans willl be in their glory, and good for them!
But the writers are simply not going to go there just because some fans want them to.
Why? Because they are not going to change their whole entire story to please what comes out to be a handful of ppl (compared the entire viewing audience). They are going to tell the story they want to tell, like or not.

If anybody does a twitter search, there are just as many fans of Neal as there are Captain Hook. That said, there is a HUGE block of fandom out there that loves the idea of Captain Swan…..of the people who still watch the show.
I know that some people think this show is only for the writers, and they shouldn’t have to listen to the fans….yeah, whatever.
I’ve seen here before where somebody said they don’t owe anything to this show. They’re right. I’m a viewer who takes time out of my schedule to watch it. I owe ABC nothing. H&K do owe ABC, though. They owe a good product which ABC gave their confidence for Once Upon A Time to carry.
If ratings are bad as it sounds like they are, it really seems to me like somebody would have the common sense to make fans happy so they’ll want to watch. If that’s not a priority, then why watch it? My point? I think Captain Swan would be good for ratings, and I think the powers-that-be would have to be braindead to pass the opportunity up. Are there other characters/ships people like? Yes, there are, but if anybody wants to do some homework, he/she might find that a majority of people are bored to tears by Neal, and have a large preference for Captain Hook. Get rid of Hook, get rid of the show.
Haters: Whine, cry, pitch your fits, and throw all the tantrums you want over what I just said. It isn’t going to change logistics for things to be anything other than what they are. I’m sure I’ll hear X, Y, and Z about the main characters, etc. There’s been a lot of that while Hook’s been away, and whoa, what wonderful results that’s had for ratings…NOT! I’ll say it again: Get rid of Hook, get rid of the show. I like Colin, but I’m creeped out by stuff I read by people. I’m not going to go into it, but I am going to say that if he can’t do it, recast him, and find somebody else who can. relationship and dynamic that fans want, and a replacement will easily and quickly be looked over so long as it is Captain Hook.
That’s all I have to say about it.
Gosh! Don’t be late for school TheBee! 😉
Hookers are over estimating the importance of one character. The show was doing quite well, during its first season, WITHOUT Hook.
To imply that it will go down the drain without Colin O’Donoghue is just silly.
There are just as many SwanFire fans (if not more) as there are CaptainSwan. So, let’s keep things real here.
They may not be the top rating series on TV right now but their ratings are more than respectable. So, let’s put that threat to rest, shall we?!
The writers will do what they want with the series. It’s as plain as that.
There is only one character’s death that could spell out the end of the show. That is Rumple and that is why Robert Carlyle has a 5 year contract.

ParticipantI agree that the writers will only tell the story that they want to tell, and it’s best that way because they’re good at it and are working on this show for a reason 🙂 the only reason I would stop watching this show is if all the Internet in the world had died 😆
There’s also no need to replace Colin since he is obviously back on his feet again 😀 people can stop being anxious and worried about that now so it’s okay folks! As far as CS goes, I love this ship for so many reasons beyond the chemistry between them.A lot of people think it’s just superficial and just have never felt the need to look deeply at their relationship and that’s fine as long as it doesn’t get too personal/snappy 😆
Just ship and let shipAnd the trust between Hook and Emma? It’s hidden, because Emma has been the kind of person who never let’s anyone in and her walls are always up protecting her, she was scared that all of a sudden this sassy pirate comes in and figures her out in a matter of hours.
Charming and Snow didn’t exactly start off on a perfect note either but they found each other and were just meant to be 🙂 Not all relationships start off perfect nor do they remain perfect, and that’s just one of the things about CS,noones perfect.March 29, 2013 at 9:36 pm #183171PriceofMagic
ParticipantSome fans seem to want the show to be all about Hook. I don’t. Hook is not my favourite character, I don’t mind him, but I don’t want him shoved into every episode just for the sake of it. Some fans get really obsessive about Hook to the point where the character becomes less enjoyable for everyone else because of the reactions he creates. I feel quite sorry for Colin O’Donoghue. Just because he doesn’t tweet every inch of his private life suddenly he’s on his deathbed. Just because he wasn’t on set filming when fans expected him to be, they were calling him for him to be fired and the part recast because he was being “unprofessional”. Hookers can be very extreme.
If CaptainSwan does become canon, I’ll be interested in seeing how it progresses and how Emma and Hook get from where they are now to being together. However, CaptainSwan shouldn’t come about just because fans demand it to be so. It has to be a natural progression thing. As it stands at the moment, Emma and Hook suddenly getting together would feel forced. Them getting together during the second half of season 3 or in a later season? Who knows.

ParticipantI agree, the obsessiveness does make it annoying, sometimes I have the urge to tell them to just stop talking 😆 Colin is such a sweet guy and it’s just pitiful seeing people start rumors about him, like just be rational people! I can never understand how some fans, who seem to be so devoted to the character, would even spread the thought of his character dying or that Colin himself isn’t ‘looking too good’, obsessive to the point of paranoia? 😆
Especially when people were actually blaming him for breaking his leg, that just crosses the line for me.Like they seriously think he would purposely break, HIS OWN leg? Crazy fans can be crazy

ParticipantI would like some kind of courtship between Emma and Hook too instead of a rushed romance. That would not be satisfying to watch. Trust needs to be build between them first, especially on Emma’s part. If their romance starts in the finale and picks up steam in season 3, that would be awesome.

ParticipantThe thing I love about this show is that they have had this story in their hearts and minds for years. I trust that whatever happens is what they planned, what they dreamed. Sure, I want to see Swanfire be endgame. But I also want the story the writers imagined from the beginning, and I’ll be happy with however they work it out. Even if it means CaptainSwan. I enjoy their writing way too much to ever not watch. I’m confident I’ll enjoy CaptainSwan if it is endgame because they are just epic writers. 🙂 on the other hand, if they write it as angst, that will be so… angsty! lol…and it will create the effect that it was purposed to create.
