Who would’ve thought that in an alternate universe Captain Hook would be locking lips with Snow White and Prince Charming’s daughter? Of the countless first kisses that have been featured on television, this surely ranks as one of the greats. Emma Swan kissed the dazzling pirate as a result of “feeling good” and that mere fact speaks boldly loud for the girl whose actions have ceaselessly been for others. The most gorgeous part of their kiss however, was the brief instance they held onto one another after parting lips. Their inability to directly let go valorized a much stronger, magnetic-like force that’s been present amongst them for quite sometime now. The kiss was undeniably momentous in their bond as it exposed just how ardently the Captain has fallen in love, along with Emma attempting to comprehend why she’s so drawn to him.

From ladyhacksaway (who is an English teacher btw so she knows what she’s talking about!):

Ok let’s be objective about this for a moment. In 3.11, we have two lines, two goodbyes, two potential love interests for Emma:

•”this isn’t over. i’ll see both of you again.”
•”there won’t be a day that goes by that i don’t think of you.”

    Remember. Objectively.

Both are very promising for the future! Both indicate that to a degree their futures are promised to Emma.

    Now differences:

Line A states that they WILL see each other again. Certainty of results, but no promise of personal action. Combined with how casual and detached the phrasing is, it’s your standard Neal fare.

Line B states that it DOESN’T MATTER if they see each other again, because Hook will be emotionally devoted to Emma Swan indefinitely regardless. It is phrased to make it sound like an action Hook is taking to be devoted to her, rather than citing some far off inevitable result.

I hope this connotation and phrasing breakdown has helped you realize why one of these lines is objectively given more emotional weight than the other.
