ParticipantLMAO, so the drama I caused by requesting this gifset??
[x]
Because of the drama, someone decided to make a clearer gifset LOL
Neal vs Hook – Reunion with Emma. 11 years vs 1 year
[x]
- Neal looks happy to see her but it’s not a “relief” like it is for Killian, he acts more like a friend whereas Killian acts more like a lover: consistent with “Neal moved on and was genuinely in love with Tamara”
- Neal starts YELLING at Emma about her bringing her father to him – despite the fact that Emma JUST asked him to confirm if he’s Gold’s son – I literally do not care what anyone says, this is not how you treat someone you supposedly love after ELEVEN YEARS of not seeing them.
- Emma knees Killian in the nuts and he doesn’t get angry or anything, merely resumes his pleading.
One of these men are her True Love. I don’t know about any of you but I know which one I’D prefer, personally. Lol.

I love this gifset! Of course, then I had to go roaming around other threads and saw it chopped up in interpreted…we’ll say “differently”… not the loveliest ways to start the day. Oh, well. People are going to see what they want to see. Such is life!
I wonder, if Hook weren’t introduced as a pirate, if he’d be viewed differently. What does amuse me that the people who accuse Hook of being this vicious, dastardly villain, also beg for Rumple/EQ scenes. Two characters who, as their portrayers and the EPs have confirmed, have killed hundreds of people. They actually showed Rumple almost beat his True Love’s father to death!

ParticipantHello! I’m “delurking” as you say here 🙂 I feel like I know you all! I’ve been trying for a week or so to register with this site, I eventually had to create a facebook profile to do it (and I had done so well avoiding facebook!).
This is the first time I’ve gone online in search of other people to talk to about a show. I always thought Emma and Hook had fantastic chemistry, but wasn’t sure they weren’t going to go the “Neal route” and didn’t want to get emotionally invested. After 3×05, I finally decided I had to learn everything I could and I found myself at this site!!! I have read this entire thread, as well as the Swanfire thread, because I like to see other points of view. However, I am satisfied that far from “over interpreting” everything, Captain Swanners are actually dead on target a lot of the time (the way you predicted the kiss and everything, omg I was amazed!). 99% of arguments that the SFs make against Captain Swan are refuted here to my satisfaction. Like Eala, I value logic a lot, and when I’ve read just how skilfully everyone breaks down the show here (I had no idea until I came online how complex it was!!!).. well lets just say that you’ve fully convinced me that Captain Swan are endgame, and you have no idea how happy that makes me! (actually I think you all do ha ha).
Jenna B – I too read that argument about what the SFers had to say about that gif set, and calling Hook a rapist again! That argument is, in my humble opinion, ridiculous. He kissed her, he didn’t try to hold her down and didn’t resist when she pushed him away.
p.s. Eala I really love all those gifsets you’re posting.

Lol – you’ve piqued my curiousity but I’m not going to go looking just in case!

Lol i doubt it, because most of the people who hate Hook are SF shippers.
I find it funny too – people accuse Killian of being “abusive” towards Emma (trololololol) when Rumple:
- killed his wife by crushing her heart
- PUSHED Belle into her cell so hard she hit the floor
- pushed Belle into the ground so that she was forced to watch him kill Robin Hood
- placed a “destroyer cloud” on a well to kill Cora and/or Emma/Snow with no remorse
- pushed Ruby away with magic in that same episode so she was knocked out
- and those are just the tip of the iceberg but i wanted to emphasise his “abuse” of women so… yeah
I say all that and I love Rumple still, because, as Belle says, there’s good in him. *shrugs*
As for Regina… she spent 28+ years raping Graham… so yeah lol. And yet again, i still love her. Because she also was good once.
But noooooooooooooooooooooooooo quarter is given for Killian, nope, despite the fact that it is CANON that he is a hero this season.
LMAO double standards alert.

Nobody was calling Hook a rapist. Nobody is saying that Hook was trying to force himself on Emma. What I did write was that the phrase he used “I can make you” can be interpreted as a bit aggressive and threatening. I even put in the imagine it from Emma’s point of view.
She lives alone with her child in her apartment, she’s in her pyjamas. A strange man turns up at her door and knows her name, even though she doesn’t know his. He tells her he “can make” her remember him then he lunges at her and kisses her
Sometimes Hook’s dialogue is written where it sounds like he’s telling Emma what’s going to happen rather than giving her a choice. His “When I win your heart, and I will” comment being a prime example. His “I can make you” line followed by the kiss can be interpreted as having rapey connotations as has other Hook’s dialogue in season 2. That’s not to say that was the intention. Had the line been written as “I’ll try and help you to remember” or “I know how I can help you remember” then followed by the kiss then it wouldn’t seem such an aggressive turn of phrase. It was the choice of wording followed by the action that makes it have rapey connotations not that Hook was planning on forcing himself on Emma.
If a random bloke came up to you in the street saying he “can make you” do something then he lunges forward and kisses you, I doubt the first thought in your head would be “maybe I should listen to him”.
All magic comes with a price!
