I have read this entire thread, as well as the Swanfire thread, because I like to see other points of view. However, I am satisfied that far from “over interpreting” everything, Captain Swanners are actually dead on target a lot of the time (the way you predicted the kiss and everything, omg I was amazed!).

O___O BOTH of them? Wow.

But yeah, it’s pretty amazing, this is a smartly written show, of course you can watch it casually and miss the complexity and still enjoy it, but breaking it down… i love that 🙂

well lets just say that you’ve fully convinced me that Captain Swan are endgame, and you have no idea how happy that makes me! (actually I think you all do ha ha).

Jenna B – I too read that argument about what the SFers had to say about that gif set, and calling Hook a rapist again! That argument is, in my humble opinion, ridiculous. He kissed her, he didn’t try to hold her down and didn’t resist when she pushed him away.

I originally posted my original statement in the SWANFIRE thread because I knew that it would get some CSers backs up. Just because one CSer went looking and reported it back here doesn’t make it an invalid argument.

My point is not that Hook kissed Emma is rapey. True love’s kiss has been a cure all for most problems so it was worth a shot. Hence Rumple and Charming trying it on their true loves.

The point I’m making is that Hook’s dialogue “I can make you” followed by the action can have rapey connotations. Not that that was the intention. It can be Interpreted that way, that doesn’t mean that was the way it was intended.

Now obviously you CSers are a little overly sensitive to my comment (No disrespect intended)but just know that my comment was not saying Hook is a rapist but that certain dialogue plus certain action can be interpreted that way.

All magic comes with a price!

POM, i didn’t actually say that your argument that SF is endgame is invalid. If you’ll read my post again, i didn’t once MENTION the word “endgame”.

And POM YOU came in HERE to defend your argument therefore you are just as culpable for this discussion as anybody else.

Now, as to the argument i find to be invalid, it’s your argument that what Hook did was “rapey” because by YOUR OWN ACCOUNT, what Rumple and Charming did was ALSO “rapey” because they KISSED PEOPLE WHO DON’T REMEMBER THEM WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT.

Your argument remains invalid, unless you also think Rumple and Charming are rapists, in which case you are entitled to your opinion. You can’t say that Killian is a rapist while also ignoring Rumple and Charmings actions.

POM I’m going to have to agree with Eala here. Your post in the SF thread was worded so as to encourage hatred of Hook.

And I’m also going to have to agree with Eala about the parallels between Hook/Charming/Rumple because they were also kissed without their consent.

There isn’t really argument you can make here. Like Eala said, either you think Hook/Charming/Rumple’s actions are “rapeish” or you don’t. You can’t have it both ways.

We’re not going to do this. We’re not going to go into each others threads and talk crap. If you’re an SFer…STAY AWAY FROM THIS THREAD! You are more than welcome to read anything on this forum but for the love of everything, can we NOT do the whole “you’re WRONG and we’re RIGHT and this is WHY” bull?! If you have something to say about a CS interpretation, put it in the SF thread. If you have something to say about an SF interpretation, put it in the CS thread. There is NO reason to go into the other sides thread and tell them why they are wrong or to say “nope this is how I interpret it even though I don’t ship your ship”

This is nonsense guys! We had a CSF thread and it was a disaster for this reason. We’re never going to agree. EVER. And that’s fine. I’m leaning to live with that. But STICK TO YOUR OWN THREADS. We came to an agreement when I shut down the CSF thread: we would never try it again. Not for a very long time, at least.

Shipping threads are safe havens for shippers. Not a place to have debates between the two sides. BECAUSE IT DOESN’T WORK. We need to learn to respect each others threads and not go in and attack what the others are saying. If you’re going into another sides threads then be prepared that you won’t like what you read but also accept that you don’t ship it and that everyone has a different interpretation. It’s almost like we have a rule about this! Oh wait. We do: SHIP AND LET SHIP EVEN IF THAT SHIP IS NO SHIP.

Everyone go back to shipping what you ship and remember that our most important rule here is RESPECT. Zero bashing of the members of this site! ZERO.

WHY?!?!?! Dies of feels ….. time to read P&P (for the millionth time lol) ….. I have to admit, I had my 1st ott Once withdrawal last night & was up until 1am watching S2 CS eps lol – Man oh Man, They told Colin what Killian had gone through from the very start, I’m sure of it – If anyone here watches The Crocodile, having seen 3A, you will totally read Hook’s reaction to Rumple being too cowardly to fight for the women he loves & to fight for his country & honor in a whole new level of light, the layers he put into that moment is outstanding when you go back & watch it.

Must admit to not being overly happy about the Milah bashing that still seems to be going on- it’s not like she murdered Rumple, kidnapped Bae or even ripped Bae from Rumple, A&E Both said, she was desperate to get away from the stigma Rumple had brought down on them all, she had been trying to get Rumple to leave, to start afresh- Rumple refused to do so, repeatedly.

Milah took the only option other than killing herself or Rumple to escape the life Rumple had driven them into & refused to leave (poverty & branded as the town coward etc). She escape with Hook- that doesnt make her a monster, sure it wasnt the best choice she could have made, but she has hardly gone on a murder spree & killed whole towns cause they dont like her o.O

This hatred of Milah is going a bit far- would people be happy if she had ripped toddler Bae from Rumple & had taken him to live on the JR? Doubtful- they’d slam her for stealing Bae away from Rumple! The same would be true if she had simply run off with Bae- Hook or no Hook! If she had murdered Rumple to get out from under the life he was forcing them to live, then yep, she would be doing evil- even if we’ve seen people murder for less on the show 😉 & people would still slam her, it’s like she cant win, no matter what the course of action she took to escape an unhappy life & marriage. It’s like people feel women should stay in a loveless marriage & do their husbands bidding as to how & where she should live?! I know Rumple wasnt abusive etc, but he failed to listen to his wife’s pleas to leave the unhappy situation they were living in, for a chance at a better life for them all, because he was to much “of a coward to try” (paraphrasing A&E on why he didnt listen). I just dont get it- why must people slam characters?! (can you tell I root for the under dog lol 😉 ) What good does it do??? It’s not like she’s alive or or really apart of the show, so why all this hate for her- I’m really struggling to under stand that. Hook I get- I dont like it, but I get some people feel the need to try tear down the threat to their ship …. however this is just a TV show at the end of the day, why watch if it makes you crazy angry? :/

Sorry guys, but I am glad I got that off my chest- the mud flinging is starting to drive me nuts! I even had to pull a shipmate up on bashing Neal (Killian was getting slammed on another site & she sadly got pulled into the match trying to defend him), on a site that is usually pretty good about no shipping wars. I’ve decided if I see bashing going on, I will simply state “the mere fact you feel the need to tear down another character (or ship), just shows how little faith you have in your own fav character (or ship). Once is supposed to bring joy into peoples lives, NOT hatred- if your fav character’s actor or actress saw this type of behavior, do you think they’d condone it?! I think not- ship & let ship, or dont ship at all!”   ….. Lol Sorry again- can you tell I’m rather put out by all the bashing going on- it really is getting bad out there! Time to sit in the corner & rock until Once returns I guess lol :p

LOVING all the fanvids everyone is posting- they are helping keep me sane & killing me with feels 😀 😀 :D.

I just love how in S2 for the Timeless promo, CS was featured- if the writing & direction for Emma’s TL/Endgame, epic, FT romance was any clearer, it’d be stamped in neon lights across our screens when ever they came on screen lol (I have watched that promo WAY too much of late- & the kiss scene & the “& when I win your heart” scene & the “I will think about you every day” scene & the TLK attempt scene *sigh* lol)

I was polite (i think?) to PoM, despite the fact that he/she decided to bring their hate in here. I would be the first to admit i was wrong if i was… but i don’t think i’m in the wrong here so am confused?

Stelo after just visiting pg1, all I can say is thank you!!!! However  think I will be pausing at page one for longer than is actually considered healthy, before returning to the current page after posting lol :p Ugh, I need to watch that scene before bed again- will catch up on the last few pages when I come back tomorrow 🙂
