Participant@surayya – I KNOW the minute i saw that gifset I had an instant urge to go home and watch my BBC P&P dvd (HELLO Colin Firth)
as to the hatred of Milah, i can kind of understand some of it. She did make a choice to abandon her son after all.
Haha- yes well if I ever get to bed/sleep- I WILL be watching the BBC P&P – Best version EVA IMO! 😉 When Colin Firth comes walks around the lake towards Lizzy in that loose damp shirt & that look of shock passes over his face, I swoon lol *happy sigh*
Yeah I know & understand, but she didnt ‘murder’ anyone & what was her other option- take Bae with her & leave Rumple alone to be a coward on his own?
A&E said Milah knew how much Rumple loved Bae (look what he did to make sure he was in his life!) & knew Rumple would love & care for Bae (wish I could find the darn interview with them saying this stuff now *sigh*)- what my problem with the hate is, is Emma gave Henry up, as Snow gave Emma up, as Owen was given up- so what does that make them? Milah left Bae with his father, she didnt abandon him, the same as Snow left Emma, when she was sent through the wardrobe & Emma left Henry to the care of the foster system- so the ‘she left Bae’ argument doesnt really wash with me- I REFUSE to nail Emma or Snow out to the crows for doing what they did, so i cut Milah slack too (it’s that whole dont throw stones in glass houses thing again I guess- I dont like people slamming Milah, when at least 2 other beloved characters have done the same thing :/ )
After all your pretty gifs I can sleep happy Eala, thank you 🙂

HECK yessssss
Emma gave Henry up, as Snow gave Emma up
The difference is that those circumstances were to give their children their “best chance”. That was a parallel in the text. Whereas Milah, IMHO, was thinking of her own selfish desires, thinking of a better life for herself rather than for her son.
I’m pretty ambivalent about Milah, she serves no purpose to the current plot so i’m kind of “meh” about her.

ParticipantI was just talking to gavioticaonthejollyroger and we should be getting a gifset for my Neal/Emma + Kathryn/David parallels tomorrow, i’m excited not gunna lie.
absurdly proud of myself for spotting it lol1×03
- Kathryn said she didn’t stop David when he left her – it was “the worst mistake she ever made”
- She didn’t go looking for him – she assumed he left town
- She wanted to say something she had waited a long time to say – “i’m sorry”
- Kathryn to Snow/Emma “Now we get a second chance”
3×01 (inverted numbers interestingly) and 3×03
- Neal said he didn’t go after Emma when he had the chance – it was “the biggest regret of his life”
- He didn’t go because he assumed she’d never forgive him
- He wanted to say something he had waited too long to say “I love you”
- Neal to Robin in 3×03 “This is my second chance”

I can see your point (however, it means Rumple should be getting slammed & have no redeeming qualities for actually truly abandoning Bae- it’s not like he left Bae with his mother or even random strangers, like Milah did or his own father did with him- he let Bae go through a portal alone, with no one at all to care for him on the other side) & so am I ‘meh’ about her for the most (I’m actually meh about most the minor & guest characters tbh lol)- HOWEVER when the hate comes out, my back gets up lol 😉 I just wish people would leave her be, she’s gone, whats done is done- we dont have to love her, A&E have already given the whys & hows of her choices & it’s not like other beloved character havent made cruddy choices & regretted them afterwards *cough- ALL of them- cough*. I just hate double standards is all I guess.
Now I REALLY have to sleep, it’s after 4am (naughty I know! but i dont have work tomorrow/today- i’m sooooo gonna pay for stay up this late/early)

ParticipantGlad to see everything is cooler around here 🙂
I actually have a question that’s been bugging me for a while.
In Dark Hollow Hook said to Emma about the kiss:
“Because I was hoping it meant something.”
And she responded with
“What meant something, was that you told us Neal was alive.”
Now, SF are saying that this means that the kiss meant nothing to Emma. And you guys have never actually talked about it here! Any insights into what Emma meant?

ParticipantWish I was either asleep, or it wasnt 4am (seriously my eyes are closing without consent atm lol)
@Aurora I’d love to answer your questions with my thoughts- but It’s taken me 3 rewrites just to string this post together (which I hope makes sense!), so will leave our shipmates to answer & give my thoughts in approx 8hrs lol 😉January 6, 2014 at 10:25 am #235527CaptainEala

Yeah i agree. I don’t know why people are wasting their energy hating on her lol!!! Have a good sleep! 😉

Oh that one’s easy 🙂
So those two lines:
Because I was hoping it meant something.
What meant something, was that you told us Neal was alive.
They’re said as a direct parallel to each other – they’re related in terms of words and structure yeah? 🙂
But what’s UNSAID
Because I was hoping it meant something[to you][romantically].
Would you agree? 😉 So therefore, as Emma’s line is a DIRECT PARALLEL
What meant something [to me][romantically], was that you told us Neal was alive.
Whether unconscious or not, Emma told him that something he did meant something to her, romantically.
It’s simple English breakdown really!!! Hope it’s not bugging you anymore!! Lol
