I think CaptainSwan will happen but I don’t think it will last. Hook flirts with any woman he comes across, except Belle (I have my theory as to why that is), and Emma has trust issues. That aside, Hook’s attempted to flirt with Snow (just had a funny mental image of Hook trying to flirt with actual Snow- sorry) Anyway, Snow is Emma’s mother. If Hook was attracted to Emma, why is he trying to flirt with her mother? Surely that would immediately turn Emma off him.

Saying that, I would love it if Hook and Emma were having one of those awkward dinners where Hook would be meeting Emma’s family properly. Any compliments Hook says to Snow would just sound like he’s trying to flirt even when he’s not.

Hook: Snow, you look lovely this evening.
Charming: Watch it, Hook!
Hook: I was just complimenting your wife on her lovely dress.
Charming: I know what you were doing.

If Hook becomes really serious about Emma, then I think the flirting with other women would stop.

But I love the idea of Charming in all protective daddy/husband mode where Hook is concerned.

Yes, I think a lot of Captain Hook fans (me included) will be a little upset if the writers don’t at least give the relationship a fair chance. On the surface, he’s a villan and has a lot of issues. Underneath though, the real Hook is hiding behind the fear of letting the real Killian Jones out and from what I can see of him so far, he’s cool. He’s got his issues, but it’s nothing that can’t be worked out of him, if the writers will take it there.

I disagree. I think Charming will be very wary of Hook. He has seen Hook attempt to flirt with Snow whilst he’s been present so I think Charming will worry that Hook’s going to hurt Emma. Rumple would probably stir things up, Hook has hurt Belle and that is not something Rumple will easily let go. Rumple will play on Charming’s fears and whisper in his ear about how Emma’s going to end up hurt with Hook. Rumple is also team SwanFire so he’d probably use Charming to steer Emma towards Bae. Charming will probably listen to Rumple because he knows him whereas Hook is a fairly unknown factor. Better the devil you know and all that.

Hmm, I’m not sure Charming can be so easily manipulated by Rumpel. David, maybe but not Charming.

I re-watched The Crocodile awhile ago and the confrontation in the dwarf mines after Rumpel rescues Belle from almost being sent over the town line. That was Moe’s doing, her own father — which can easily be seen as the worst parenting decision ever on this show this season.

I would hope that Charming would learn from that bad parenting, that he shouldn’t take such drastic measures with Emma.

At the end of the day, Charming or Snow aren’t going to choose who Emma should be with. The choice will come from her.

I agree with that. Just because Emma is their little girl doesn’t mean she IS a little girl. She is going to make up her own mind. Plus, I think if they see she is in love, they will (eventually) trust her judgement. We do have to have a few “Papa Charming” glares of course!

And oddly enough, I see Charming warming up to Hook first. I don’t think Snow holds grudges per se, but she can be a bit idealistic about how people should be. I get the vibe that Charming would get a bromance going with Hook soon as they bonded over something they had in common, like swords.

Also the same for Charming wouldn’t want Emma (or Henry either), hurt by Bae can be said.
Hook my be a pirate, but he’s only after Rumple for killing his love/r- When Charming finds out, I think he will be a little more forgiving than he is now- he would be able to understand that & see ‘Hook’ as being like his SB self, with Killian as his FTL self kind of thing.

Rumple’s son in their family = way more danger. This is the man who’s father murdered his wife & son’s mother, then cut of her lover’s hand..out of spite, let his son be swallowed by a portal to another land, tossed his true love out of his castle, has turned many/100’s into animals & or killed them, blew up a fairy, murdered his house keep, screwed with Snow & Charming’s lives almost from day 1, helped frame MM for murder, brought magic to our world & that’s just off the top of my head (Not to mention Rumple is pondering over what course of action to take with Henry, considering Henry is his/darkone’s ‘undoing’, although they don’t know that yet).
Having Bae in their family means Rumple in everyone’s ear to stay/get close to Bae. If Bae refuses him, the rest will have to deal with Rumple’s ‘involvements’ to help him gain favor etc. Rumple is also very good at twisting things to get what he wants.
Bae/Neal in his own right has proven to be the very things Charming himself doesn’t value in himself- fearful, coward, not fighting for what you want & giving up- Hook/Killian is much more like Charming than Bae/Neal is by a mile.

I cant see him being overly keen on Bae/Neal once the story of how Neal came to not be in Emma’s life comes to light either! Difference is he has to allow Bae access to Henry & by default Emma even if he doesn’t like him, there is no other ‘good’ choice.
