Ok, I finally just through the past 10 pages or so – what a busy weekend!

    Some thoughts –

    1)  Those spoilers – yeah, definitely not much by the way of spoilers.
I think the only thing that really seemed like a spoiler is the apparent dispelling of the WW as either the character in the Wizard of Oz movie and the Wicked play

    * RG, that was my first attempt at blocking out a spoiler, if it didn’t work, forgive me!

    2) Neal, Neal, Neal.
I think it would be a terrible, and more importantly, totally unbelievable thing, if Emma didn’t still love him in some way.  I am positive she truly loved him – when she was 17.  In my experience, you can love someone and when for whatever reason (cough *letting her go to jail* cough) it doesn’t work out, a tiny part of you is still going to love that person.  Even though you move forward, change, and love again.  And that’s ok.  That love likely will not even continue to be romantic – it may become platonic, friendly, even familial.  Love is not finite.  And just because you loved someone in the past, it doesn’t diminish your ability to love, or the amount of love you have, for others that come after.
More importantly, he’s the father of her child – growing up without family, there is no way Emma is not going to try to have some kind of relationship with Neal.  And Neal, also abandoned, is going to do everything in his power to be the best father he can be, and part of that means having a good relationship with his child’s mother.  But that doesn’t mean the love is romantic.  I’m glad they showed Emma, Henry and Neal have their moment to say goodbye in 3×11, and I think all of them believe “it’s not over,” but that’s because they are family.  And part of a large, insane family, that does not give up just because something silly like being in a different realm comes between them.  But I didn’t even feel like Neal himself meant those words as romantic.  Neal finally has a family – finally has a son and a father.  And yes, even finally has Emma back in his life.  But the Emma he knows today is not the Emma he knew at 17.  So no, since he just got his family back, it’s not over.  And again, that’s ok.  Admirable.  Expected.
Even if there were no Hook, and Neal and Emma tried to re-establish some kind of romantic relationship, it wouldn’t work.  Not after everything each has been through.  Emma felt forced to abandon her own child, after thinking she had been abandoned by Neal.  And yes, Emma will likely be able to forgive Neal for sending her to jail because that’s the kind of person she is – and I do actually believe he thought he was doing the right thing.  But you can’t forget.  And for Neal, he moved on.  He was engaged.  He found love again.  Which is a totally normal, reasonable thing to do.  But these are simply obstacles that are, in my opinion, simply impossible to get over. And – He has more IMPORTANT things to deal with than trying to re-establish a romantic relationship with the woman who is completely changed from the 17 year old her knew – like trying to develop the relationship with  his son and his father – who we all know, is not dead.

    3) Hook and Belle
We’ll never see Hook apologize to Belle.  And that’s not because he doesn’t feel sorry, or even that it doesn’t happen.  It’s because we as the audience don’t need to see it.  We know Belle.  If she can forgive the things Rumple has done – to others, to her – she can forgive Hook.  Her ability to forgive kind of angers me because, really, she’s forgiven some things that to another would simply be unforgiveable, but that’s who she is.  I’d really love to see her punch Rumple and Hook in the faces instead of just forgive and move on, but that’s simply not who she is.  EMMA would punch Hook and Rumple in the face (or other places!) — but not Belle.  Besides, I just don’t think Hook and Belle are going to have much joint screen time.  It would be such a disservice to Belle if she is not finally given a decent storyline – and I think Belle and Neal’s storyline will have much more to do with finding Rumple than it will with either Hook or Emma.  And it’s a storyline that I would like to see, not because I’m CS and therefore it takes Neal out of the picture, but because it’s the more compelling story than some silly corner of a love triange (Neal) or the throwaway character with tons of potential (Belle).

Ok, that’s a lot of thoughts!  And now it’s 10:55pm EST and I should really get to bed – Monday comes too quickly!

It’s not why Hook, but how Hook and when Hook? What does it mean? That’s something that we get to, again, pretty quickly.”

    – Adam Horowitz on why it was Hook that came to find Emma and Henry in New York.

I don’t care my forever new head canon will be that it’s Hook from the no so distant future and he gave her tok cause in the future they are very much TL and together… so he thought it would work then

I would really hate if we get Hook form the future, a different Hook from the future come back to warn Emma. Time travel is always mess whenever it’s done on TV, but stuff can be redone the minute you introduce time travel. As much as I love Colin and Hook, let there only be one Hook.

so “it’s not why Hook” I may be going completely shipper here but that does kind of sound to me like Adam again reemphasized the point. Hook loves Emma that’s the “why”

I agree with most of your points @jenna_b .

I was thinking today about a line Emma said in season two after reuniting with Neal. I think it was in Tiny, when he was walking with Emma to a car.

“Please don’t tell me you’re going to hot wire this thing.”

Emma and Neal were thieves together, they worked well as a team then but yeah, Emma’s not the same girl anymore. She’s grown up, she’s matured. She doesn’t steal anymore or hot wire cars. She’s moved past that phase of her life and in a sense, already moved past Neal.

With Belle, I’m a rumbelle ‘shipper too and I love Belle, but yeah, the amazing thing about her, is what an incredible forgiving a person she is. She rarely holds grudges against people who have wronged her. She practically begged Rumple in Broken not to go after Regina after she had her locked up in the insane asylum for 28 years of the curse. Same goes what Hook did to her. Belle doesn’t dwell on stuff like that because she’s okay now and she’s a forgiving person.

And here’s something else I’ve learned about Once, if something isn’t referenced from before in the present, generally, it means it’s not important anymore. Things however that get continually brought up, like Neal abandoning Emma and her issues, that stuff is important. Hook leaving her behind in the jail cell in The Queen of Hearts, it’s not important because Emma realized in that scene that she made a mistake not trusting him and it cost her. She got it.

Over all, I’ve found the people who bring up Hook hurt Belle and he needs to forgive her, or the jail scene even though neither have been mentioned lately as a main story point, are the same people who need to continually find reasons to hate Hook.

But you know what? I really don’t care anymore. Once Prince Charming toasts you as a hero, it’s like being blessed by the Pope. You are blessed for life. Hook is a hero and real contender for Emma’s heart. That is the reality. He isn’t the villain anymore either.
