I thought I was the only one that’s a bit offed by Emma. anyway, I think one reason why she’s like that to Hook about what he did for the last year was, well she was actually curious and she’s hiding it by being cold. She wants to know what he has been doing while away from her but doesn’t want to be obvious on why she wants to know? I don’t know…

I might totally stay away from the chat for good. Someone there is just really insensitive of other people in the chat. I understand where they come from but they should just stick to their own threads if they want to talk about how they want to off Hook.

I think the main reason why they are going to kill of Neal is the character development that it will give to Emma (finding a man that hasn’t lied to her aka Hook), Rumple, and Henry.

Hi guys.. I’ve been one of those silent lurkers on this thread, restricting myself to an occasional post when I feel too strongly because frankly it scares me to have people jump down my throat for having an opinion that’s different. Thankfully, I don’t see that happening often on this thread and hence breaking my self-imposed silence only because I agree with some of the opinions shared by a few posters recently. @surayya @Jennifer @emmajones I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s more than a little peeved with Emma’s casual attitude towards Hook. She has to have recognized that this guy came back for her, to save her especially in the light of the fact that he promised to think of her every day and she encouraged him to and all evidence shows that he did indeed do what he promised to.
I understand she’s been hurt yet again by Walsh and has retreated behind those famous “walls” of hers but what I fail to understand is that she can let other guys in.. Graham and Walsh, but when it comes to Hook, she’s suddenly skittish and scared, when all he does is for her.
I also do not get how that super-power of hers failed to work once in the 8 months she knew Walsh. The guy was playing her, pretending to love her and Henry and she couldn’t tell? Not even once? I guess deep down she must have felt something was “off” and she probably wouldn’t have married him even if Hook hadn’t come around with the potion just then, her first reaction to his proposal was to cut and run, but she did admit freely that she cared about him, that she even loved him. How could she not have seen through his treachery at all? She can tell when Hook is lying about seemingly mundane things but not when Walsh is doing so consistently for 8 months?
*Heavy sigh* I know this whole Walsh thing is a plot device, a means to keep CS apart till the season finale when in all probability the curse will be broken by a TLK, but I really cannot see Hook’s hurt, puppy face any more without my heart breaking for him. I know it’s a classic story-telling trope, they used it in Good Form when they had Emma shutting Hook down tersely when he tries to “bond” with her and towards the end of the episode we had the CS kiss. They’re doing this to build up anticipation and audience sympathy for Hook, getting rejected over and over and then BAM! The climactic moment of truth for Emma when Hook is under a sleeping curse or whatever and she realizes how much he means to her and that she’s loved him all along and she was in denial and then VOILA.. TLK, whooshing and curse breaking and everyone remembers!
Don’t get me wrong over this rant, I love Emma and there’s nothing I want more for her than to find true love and happiness, but right now my Killian feels are overpowering and I wish Emma would give him more than tidbits, something tangible and true like a “Good” or even some indirect encouragement to show she cares, she’s getting there, she just needs time to get over her last heart-break.
I agree with @Jennifer that she isn’t the only one that’s been hurt and abandoned on this show, she needs to give back a little. Killian’s been been relentless and resilient, patient and selfless and I do not get how people could interpret his line to her as rude or uncaring.
Also, on this show, all true love couples seem to have fallen in love in sync. I mean, one half of the couple didn’t have to wait for the other to acknowledge and return their affections. True, all the love stories we’ve seen so far have been in flashback and CS is the only one (not counting OQ yet) we’re seeing in real time and when stories are told in flashback we have no real idea of the lapsed time, we can only take a guess. But with Snowing and Rumbelle and Cindy-Thomas and Eric-Ariel, love hit both of them simultaneously. I guess that’s what makes CS’s journey different, fraught with roadblocks, though we know they’ll get there in the end.
Sorry again for the long-winded rant. Guess I got carried away.
Well, do you guys think the next CS kiss will happen in the Hook-centric 3X17? I have my doubts. I think they’ll hold off on the kiss till the finale since it has to be a TLK and all. Also its interesting that Henry doesn’t have his memories yet so a TLK between Emma and Henry won’t work like the last time.

The only way I can excuse Emma for her behavior towards Killian in this 1 scene- This time- Is as she said, ‘she keeps falling for guys who turn out to be ‘not who they really are”, I guess as much as Emma would like to fall head over heels for Killian again (because I do believe she was almost to the point of choosing to ‘go out’ with Killian by 3×11, but the curse happened & we just got “good” as an admission of her feeling ‘something’ romantic towards him instead, but I digress), she’s likely terrified Killian will turn out to have done ‘something’, has some hidden agenda, while they’ve spent time apart (I mean she thought the other 2 where exactly who she thought they were, with no ulterior motives & she didnt doubt them, but look how they turned out for her)- a year is along time, after all, for ‘stuff’ to go down. Emma is a pessimist- not an optimist, so all this stuff will be tumbling around in her head I’d guess. So, yeah- I can understand in this instance her attitude, however like I said, if it keeps up- it will get VERY old, very fast. I’m hoping 1×17 will see us & Emma find out exactly what went down during that year (or at least the important part/s of it), so Emma can accept Killian isnt like the other guys/monkeys she’s dated/fallen for & she can embrace Killian & what he has to offer her I dont want to see more of Emma being septic towards Killian, when all he’s doing is putting his heart out there for her to crush or embrace.

@polythenepam Emma’s super power doesnt work well when her emotions are involved (at least that is what A&E have said), so I guess that would explain it.

I think Emma’s fear of Killian could stem from them actually having this deep connection to each other (TL connection ), so if she falls for him, she is going to fall hard & she knows it- so to keep herself ‘safe’ she slams her walls up harder around him than others, as he’s able to get through her walls far more easily, than any of the others have- whats the saying “We hurt those we love the most” …..It doesnt excuse her doing what she is doing to Killian atm or in the long run- he doesnt HAVE to tell her where nor what he did- esp if he knows it’ll hammer her (like if he did something huge to get back to her- Emma doesnt take ‘grand gestures of undying love’ too well yet lol).

You’ve made some really good observations  @polythenepam & I think most of us agree with you & get what you mean about Emma, most of us love her as well, but seeing Killian (he & Emma are my favs) treated the way she is treating him & his heart breaking expressions, when we all know, all he wants is for her to love him as he loves her- deeply & truly- it just kicks me in the feels!!!! Poor Killy- I just hope it’s all over as far as Emma pulling away by 3×17 (dont know if I can stand seeing his hurt expression.

I have to admit to liking the whole idea of Killian being under the sleeping curse & Emma TLK him awake more & more. I wasnt so sure before, as I didnt know how on earth they’d work a sleeping curse in since its ‘EQ/Regina’s’ thing. But now the WW has Regina’s cursed hair pin, it seems logical that someone is going to take a sleeping curse & require kissing awake- so why not Killian & Emma 😉 … Although I would like to see Regina’s reaction to having TLK work for her & Robin (however she already has the lion tattoo to go off of, so I’m back to CS getting TLK via sleeping curse- esp since it would parallel Snowing very nicely indeed) 😉

I would like the idea that Emma would have to lift the curse the WW would inflict upon Hook. It will not only be parallel to Snowing, but it will urge Emma to finally take a leap of faith and face her true feelings for Hook, by giving him TLK…
