Okay, I may be the only person here willing to cut Emma some slack. She’s just lost Neal, is lying to her son, has the WW to contend with, and had her whole world (a year with great memories) ripped from under her in less than a week. Yeah, her attitude is starting to grate on me but I think (fingers crossed) next week will mark a turn around for her. Once she sees exactly what the cost was for Hook to come back and “save her” she’ll realize that this guy is worth losing her heart over. The CaptainCobra scenes were beyond touching. @jenven, I think you are correct in saying that Hook is advocating for Henry now. Hook’s going to do for Henry what he didn’t do for Bae. I see that some people are still upset by the fact that Hook’s betraying Bae to Pan was never addressed. It probably will never be but this to me shows that Hook is more than willing to make up for what he did in NL. The promo annoyed me. I don’t care if it was a year and he was lost without Emma, I sincerely doubt he’d go back to his philandering ways, like they’re implying. I also wanted a better look at Charles Mesure; I’ll bet he looks hot in that costume. As much as I enjoyed seeing some back story for the WW, the OQ scenes really made this episode for me. SHE GAVE HIM HER HEART!!!! SQUEEEEEE!!!!! I haven’t been this excited since Good Form…….All I’m saying is that A and E had better keep Sean Maguire on or I’ll be really PO’d. @KillianJones, another fantastic work of art. Thank you!

I havent done my rewatch yet (went to see Winter solider instead lol), but no, you are not alone- I’m not ticked off at Emma …(yet). I’m of pretty much the same opinion as you on her behavior & why.

I don’t care if I get hate, I don’t care if I get bitched at, I am simply FED UP with the attitude I’m seeing. It’s the same attitude I have hated about this fandom from DAY ONE. Emma’s feelings don’t matter as much as ~insert love interest here~’s feelings. She’s expected to change and magically be the perfect sparkly unicorn baby that never ever hurts anyone, regardless of her own feelings. It’s really very simple. Emma is NEVER — repeat after me, N E V E R — going to turn into some fluffy lovebunny for the sake of a ship. Never ever gonna happen. If you expect ANYTHING different out of her, after everything she’s been through, you simply haven’t been paying attention. Yeah. Hook is doing and saying all the right things. He’s there and he’s perfect for her and we all know it. I say this all as a Killian Jones stan, as well as an Emma stan. And the thing is, she knows it too. She knows it and it terrifies her. You know why it terrifies her? Neal. Walsh. Both these guys all said the right things to her too. They both made her promises and seemed to be perfect on the outset. And she got her heart broken. Both damn times. And yet she’s just supposed to JUMP HEADLONG into the next thing, when she’s still freshly off the sting of the Walsh/false memory incident, AND losing Neal? Are you kidding me right now? You want her to be flinging herself at him, giggling and making moon eyes and basically being everything Emma Swan is not? If that’s what you expect, then you don’t want CS. You want some weird AU bastardization of it. Because, like it or not, this is CS. And Emma is Emma. She is not going to make some big declaration, and you’re going to be waiting a long damn time if you think she will. It’s not gonna slowly build up. She’ll be Emma and keep her walls up until the moment she doesn’t. Anyone remember Good Form? She was pretty damn grumpy with him in that episode and then BOOM. THAT is Emma Swan. She’ll be guarded until the second her guard drops. She won’t make the decision slowly, it’ll come to her all at once. Everyone keeps saying they expect her to warm up to him, but the thing is that she already IS. In EMMA’S way. Trusting him with her son is no matter to be taken lightly. The fact that she backs off just when things get too intense is no coincidence. There won’t BE a declaration, because actions speak louder than words. Emma doesn’t make the big declarations unless she thinks it’s her last chance to do so. She’s not gonna just randomly say she’s falling for Hook, she’s going to show it in other ways — ways that are OBVIOUS, if you pay attention and if you know her at all. Regina, in this episode, entrusted Robin with her heart. Likewise, Emma entrusted Killian with her son. It’s the same thing. Emma needs and wants Killian around, and you can bet your ass if he was gone, she’d feel that loss acutely. Yeah, she keeps her walls up, and she makes her quips and uses sarcasm as a weapon. But the second she realizes that Killian’s serious about wanting to talk to Henry, about wanting to help, you’ll note that all that went away, and it was fluttery lashes and breath catching and heavy swallowing and an awed “You’d really do that?” What the hell else do you want from her at this point? Honestly, it’s a good damn thing that Killian sees her for what she is and understands her better than some of you people do. He wouldn’t be half so enamored of her if she was anything less than the tough lass that she is, the one who bested him from moment one. He’s in it for the long-haul, remember? He doesn’t need or expect anything from her, but he’s still there for her, which is exactly what she needs. Anyone who thinks she doesn’t care about him is fooling themselves. Anyone who expects her to behave any differently hasn’t been paying attention. This is the ship. Take it or leave it, but this is exactly what I signed up for when CS took hold. And I wouldn’t have it — or her — any other way.

New sneak peek guys!!!

ALKSJDHFGGHJDLSKALJDSJFKD!!! ……. can it be sun/mon nooooowwwww…… UGH! how am I’m going to make it an entire week! This ep is shaping up to be an awesome ep

so it would seem he tried to put Emma behind him, but he couldnt ….. no wonder the poor dude thinks/knows Emma’s his TL, it is classic TL- he simply cant ‘get over her’ 🙂 It also makes me wonder just how willingly he dropped the ‘I’m a big bad pirate’ act, when he realised he could get back to Emma, like I doubt we’ll seem his heart in the pirate life, so he ‘wants’ to give it up & go for Emma… or maybe he even made that choice before he got the note/message- because maybe Belle got Ariel to pass the message along

Anyway the big take away form this for me is it is canon that Hook/Killian is fundamentally changed (for the better, it seems) by his love for Emma- if that isnt TL, I dont know what is! (Aside from rainbow whoosh kisses lol :p )

Thanks for the sneak peek, Obisgirl! I’ll be watching that, here in just a moment. About the argument concerning Emma: I am writing to jump into that, and am offering a different perspective. I don’t think Emma is mean. I think Emma is scared. She has been hurt so much, has been through so much in her life, and has seen so many people hurt and lost, that she’s afraid to invest her heart. The way she’s treating Hook is not the result of aggression. It’s a protective shield she’s put up to protect her heart for the fear of it getting broken again….I mean afterall, a man she dearly loved and who hurt her; a man she was still coming to terms with forgiving has died, and now she has to add him to the laundry list of disappointments in her life. She’s afraid to make her heart vulnerable to anybody. Yes, she trusts Hook more than most, but still not completely. Not because of him, but because of her. That’s why I think that before she can allow her heart’s surrender to him, she’s going to have to be shocked into a realization of what it could cost for her to lose him. I don’t want anything bad to happen to Hook, but I think it’ll take something traumatic and drastic for her to let her walls down.

She trust Hooks. I don’t think there’s any question about that.  What she still doesn’t trust is her heart.

Perfectly sums up Emma & Cs at this point- Killian trusts Emma & his own heart/feelings, Emma might trust Killian, but doesnt trust her own heart/feelings at all- that/those are what get her hurt in her experience.

I think what’s really going to make Emma consciously realize , and maybe act, on her feelings toward Hook is going to be his growing relationship with Henry. I don’t see him backimg down from her when it comes to Henry. Which, frankly, she needs. One of the things that drives me nuts is people’s view that Hook gave Bae to Pan. Hook did the only thing he could do. His “thank you for reminding me” line was a mask. Bae was a 14 year old kid who wanted OFF THAT BOAT. So Hook’s options were 1) keep him prisioner on the JR 2) let Bae off on his own or 3) let Bae and Pan believe he was turning Bae over to Pan. Why did he choose 3? Because it was the best option for Bae. Pan wanted Bae. Bae wasnt going to last a minute on NL by himself. BUT if he feels betrayed by Hook Bae might willingly align himself with Pan…keeping Bae in Pan’s good graces…keeping Bae as safe as he possibly could. And I dont doubt for a second that Hook didnt continue to watch over Bae even after he gave Bae over. Is it a great choice? No. Does Hook regret it? Yes. But there wasnt exactly a good choice among the 3. Ok enough ranting about Bae. Back to Emma and her feelings for Hook! She’s already almost there. She practically announced from the rooftops that Hook found her/saved her. Giving him due credit for it…the old Emma would not be so willing to admit she needed help/saving.

Good points, but I’d add to 3) that option also kept the crew of the JR safe as well-where the other 2 options put not only Hook but all aboard the JR at risk of Pans wraith – I mean if hostage Bae was found on board, Felix already had said they’ed ALL be killed (& people forget Hook was still willing despite this, to keep Bae & be a family!) The same applies if they put Bae ashore- Bae would either be killed by dreamshade OR Pan would find him, find out Hook put him on the island behind Pan’s back & Hook & Co. would = dead. It’s not like there was some magical perfect solution. Besides A&E have already said Hook was genuine- right to the end, if Bae had changed his mind, even as the lost boys were boarding, Hook would have fought them off to keep Bae with him…. what more can be said on the matter?!

Hook: You can’t just pretend this never happened… Trust me. I spent the last year trying to do just that..return to the person I used to be and it didn’t work! Soooo he did spend part of the last year trying to forget about Emma 

I’m not worried, as it simply proves Emma really is Killians TL- he’s been fundamentally changed & cant go back to being life before her 😉

Honestly, if in the beginning of the year w/o Emma, he returned to his pirate ways, I’m fine with it.  Even when it comes to the ladies.  haha.  The important thing is he couldn’t go back.  And he realized that, from what it seems, pretty early on.

I definitely wasn’t liking Emma’s ‘tude the last episode, but yeah, I can agree with cutting her some slack.

I saw some people saying stuff to the effect of ‘he’s already trying to get in her pants’…blah blah.  Um, no.  His line was a classic ‘Hook to Emma’ line.  Emma’s throwing him about every signal there is – She seems like she has feelings for him – she shuts down – she opens up – she attacks.   What’s the guy to do?  So yeah, go back to ‘normalcy’.  Makes sense.  I do love-love-love that either Emma trusts Hook with Henry (again! 3rd time!) or that Henry wants to spend time with Hook.  If I couldn’t have CaptainFire, then I’m glad we’re getting Captain Cobra.  The way they discussed Captain Cobra becoming a team – instead of Hook having to protect Emma or vice versa – I think they just might set up a situation where Hook has to protect either Emma or Henry – and he’ll protect Henry (obvious reasons).  Something to that effect would be huge enough to get Emma to realize how much she depends on Hook, feels for Hook, etc…sigh.  swoon sigh.

I think what Hook means in the promo is that he has literally become a different person because of Emma.  He CAN’T even go back to LIVING like a pirate because he ISN’T a pirate anymore.  So it would not have been possible for him to remain true to his word to think about Emma every day while living like a pirate – he might have thought he could. He might have thought he could get his ship back, go out to sea with his crew, and drink rum while he thought about her but at the end of the day he stopped being that person when he became part of Emma’s SB “family.”  I think Hook very much understands that Emma is his home – and not just Emma but her entire family. I was thinking about how Emma has really never had to live WITHOUT Hook – her memory loss spared her from that which is why I think we are a bit sensitive to the way she sometimes talks to him when we are VERY aware that he knows what it is like to have to live without her for a year.  I’m sure he had hoped he could do exactly what he did do numb the pain when he lost Milah – except he realized he isn’t that person anymore so he COULDN’T find a way to drown the pain.  He simply had to LIVE with it – for a YEAR. Now it’s a year later and he knows what he has had to live without for a year – not JUST Emma, but Henry, Snow, Charming – then he loses Neal after coming to understand what home and family really means to him and where his home really is.  I think he is doing a really good job of pushing Emma when she needs to be pushed but remembering who she is because she HASN’T had the same year to recognize what she had to live without. I really had to think about this today because I wanted to rip Emma’s head off last night after the “leather conditioner and eyeliner” comment.  But I have the feeling we are being baited by A and E on purpose.  I have the feeling Hook is going to be the thing that is going to pull together EVERYTHING that defines home for Emma.  And I think when it happens it is going to hit her hard and she is going to realize that she didn’t appreciate him for everything he is and does for her.  He is her rock but she doesn’t realize it.  If something happens to that rock or it is threatened in a major way I think she is going to suddenly panic and be forced to recognize that she has loved him all along and hasn’t necessarily treated him very well.  Like in a gross sobbing, almost lost Henry kind of way that might just require TLK.
