We know that the most traumatic thing Killian has seen was when Rumple ripped Milah’s heart out and crushed in front of him. She died in his arms and there was nothing he could do. He also has deep guilt over his relationship with Bae, he is trying to honor Bae by watching over Henry and telling him about his father, but he also loves Henry because he is Emma’s son. I firmly believe that we have been given a few hints and seen a few things now that show us that Emma uses her love for and thoughts of Killian as the stimulus for her strongest powers. The WW has now cursed Killian’s love and by extension, threatened both Emma and Henry. This is basically a complete repeat of history. With both Milah and Bae Killian was left feeling helpless, guilty, and empty. What Killian NEEDS now is to know that HE is Emma’s strength. He needs to know that it doesn’t matter if the WW has cursed his love for Emma because THEIR love is strength. Because she relies on HIM, her magic can overcome any curse placed on his love because just like when Cora was unable to rip Emma’s heart out – the WW won’t be able to take her power away because it is grounded in THEIR love. Killian NEEDS to know this. I think this is what will help him overcome his self-loathing. He knows he loves Emma but so far he doesn’t think TLK worked. People talk about Snowing “being” TL. Emma and Killian don’t realize that they ARE TL. Killian IS TL. The odd thing is until this last episode I was convinced that Emma was the one who was going to be the one dragging her feet to admitting she loves Killian but now I have the feeling that Emma is the one who is going to recognize a whole lot faster that they are TL and I think she is going to have to convince Killian that he is worthy of her love. The only way I think she can do that is for him to realize that she thinks of him to boost her powers.

Oooohh I was reading a CS fic and in it Hook thought about how TLK is supposed to break any curse but how he tried TLK once before and it didn’t work. Do you think that will come up at all in the actual show? I think it would be good to revisit that and maybe the Charmings tell him it doesn’t work when memories are lost. There hasn’t been any mention of it at all about him trying TLK despite the fact that Emma would obviously remember that he tried.
I want it to be addressed as well- especially by Charming – I mean we saw his reaction to Emma almost getting married LOL – Would love to see Snowings reaction to Killy’s attempt at TLK, then pointing out that TLK doesnt work if the other doesnt remember who the kisser actually is & Killy’s response to that little bomb shell 😉
It’s up to KJ to be our outside ambassador it seems! I know it’ll calm down, I just hope it does before more people get upset/hurt. We’ll see. Killian Jones is a do-gooder stick in the mud. Captain Hook is selfish and revenge-obsessed. The true person that is emerging has qualities from each side and I think Colin is doing a good job showing the two personas blend. Killian and Hook are one dimensional, but this new person is fascinating and what draws me to his/this storyline. And he’s gonna have to tell Emma about the curse soon – once our girl gets something in her head she doesn’t let go and she is FINALLY letting herself acknowlege long-brewing emotions. Our pirate had better be ready!
Yes he is, but haters will simply hate because they can – sadly. I’m hoping S4 will distance people from the pain of not only loosing a character they loved, but their ship also going down as well & cut Killy a break for S4. I’ve ventured out of this thread a couple of times & have learned to stay out of ‘most’ threads- due to certain posters vocal thoughts & feelings on CS/Hook, but thats getting less & less, which is why I’m so hopeful S4 will see CS in better shape around these parts (thankfully the haters on the other couple of sites I frequent got squashed, so I do have some places to go & just hang out with other CS’ers with no repercussions at all) 🙂
I agree that its the merging of Killian & Hook personas & the complex 3 dimensional character emerging from them both, that makes the character so darn interesting for me as well. Plus I have a soft spot for Anti Heroes 😉
I have to admit I have a bit of a head canon about this. Actually several different versions of head canons. This is where the “Love is strength” comes back into play for me. I don’t think the WW can steal Emma’s magic via Killy’s lips because love is strength so I think the power of TLK would trump Greenie’s kissing curse. So I think poor Killy will have angst over this for awhile and then Emma will be like “No problem, pucker up – TLK and all remember?” In which case Killian will be shocked 1) because she actually loves him at all and 2) because he will discover why TLK didn’t work this first time. OR Something will happen and they will decide to go ahead and kiss anyway – like if they both think they are going to die or something – and they are BOTH taken by surprise that the kissing curse doesn’t work and that their kiss is TLK. Not really surprised so much that they are TL but more surprised by the fact that their TLK was more powerful than the kissing curse because Emma’s love is strength.
Oh, wouldnt it be great if WW goes after Henry, Hook stops her- just, but he’s injured & Emma simply kisses him on impulse, breaking the lip curse & proving they are both TL 😉

Absolutely Agree with you here, this is my thinking as well. It’s also more than coincidence, that Emma become more open to letting the past goe & embracing her ‘feelings’ for Killy AFTER her magic lesson with Regina- near death experiences can really wake you up to whats important to you & near death experiences what involve using magic that impresses the EQ to annoyance that you’ve suppressed/wasted it, while thinking of all the things you ‘should’ have done/embraced before dying is another, powerful motivator & eye opener 😉

LOVE it! I remember talking about how important having someone like Hook is to Emma in your life, way back in S2. I also remember talking about how they each bring out the best in each other, so it’s great to hear JMO confirm what we’ve been saying since the beginning of CS 🙂 *Cookies & rum for all*
The being sent to page 2 instead of 1 happens because this thread has reached over 900 pages. It did the same with the SF thread. It’s normal. Also I’d like to mention how friendly this thread is at the moment, even to a non-diehard CS shipper.
Thanks for that POM- the less than friendly attitude in some threads can be a little off putting, so I’m glad that in here at least, we are more tolerant to others than they are of us- even if we do let of steam & have to have a bit of a rant about the treatment our ship & good captain cop, on occasions 😉
I liked the last Hook centric more than Good Form, despite it having no Rumple and very little Belle. Hook has grown on me as a character. The actual flirting bit wasn’t that bad within the context of the episode. I loved Hook fighting for the Jolly Roger.
Funny you say that, because so did I 🙂 Dont get wrong, I loved JR, but this episode really moved us forward & opened up Killians journey IMO- he came to a cross rds, choose a path he thought he could live with & turns out it was the wrong on & he cant- showing how his love for Emma has fundamentally changed him- for the better. Just like in that interview where JMO says Killian wants Emma to be the best version of herself & brings out the best in Emma, Emma wants Killian to be the best version of himself & brings out the best in him & this ep showed that beautifully. I cant wait to see his progression from that hopeless, 3mth in period of the missing yr, to the 1yr period where he’s hopeful & believes Emma is his TL.
Here’s a thought though, why doesn’t Regina put the kiss curse temporarily on Belle (with Belle’s consent) then have Belle kiss Rumple thus taking him out of the equation in the fight with Zelena?

She is doing a great job in my opinion. She is mean and you dont want to root for her and you want them to take her down… hard. She isnt a Villain I am hoping finds redemption… I cant wait until they dump a bucket of water on her.
Yes she is- at the start I was wondering why the cast all said she was scary- I mean creepy? Yes, but scary? Not IMO.
Now though, she takes the cake on biggest & best sadistically, deranged, psychopath on the show. She sells it beautifully IMO- great acting on her part 🙂
