I also noted what Belle told Rumple about the future not always being what you think it will be- same could be said for SF & also gives hope for CS- who would have thought Emma & Hook, Emma/Henry’s dad was expected for the future by pretty much everyone before S2 started 😉

Ok I think we can safely drop spoiler tags…I hope. I think most of the regulars that post here have seen it and it’s the day after now so should be fair game except for anything known about season 3 which…isn’t much right now. =/
Can’t wait to listen to the official podcast and they better be excited about everything that went down with Hook (I think they will be, they keep emphasizing that they wanted him in season 1 – if only *sigh*)
I rewatched last night and took notes and kept rewatching scenes – took forever but it was totally worth it!
I haven’t analyzed an episode to that extent ever (though I’ve seen a lot of the season 1 episodes a million times it feels like now but this was the first ep since Tallahassee where I felt an immediate rewatch was in order – immediate being after I had a few hours to pull myself together of course!)
SO MANY PARALLELS & FEELINGS
Others have done a wonderful job of posting quotes and emotions shown during the scenes so I’ll refrain for now. I think if I get a chance over the summer I want to continue the analyzing and pull together every little thing I can find from Snowing, CaptainSwan and SwanFire – if you want to argue with the opposition, you need to be familiar with it! I really think there’s more that we haven’t even noticed yet and wish fresh eyes that know a lot more now we might find something useful!
Thoughts gleamed from tumblr last night that brought me to a happy place after my initial mini-freakout even though I loved the ep
1) Hook chose her – he came back, he took her up on her offer to be a part of something. The last time he wanted to be a part of something Bae told him he could never change. Hook saw the helm where he scratched out the reminder of that time and was contemplating what to do with the bean at the time but he still chose to take her up on her offer rather than be the man Bae always thought him to be.
This also parallels Charming in a way because David Nolan almost left town right before the curse broke and then came back but that’s only slightly a parallel because he also got his memories back so of course returned but he returned to Snow knowing that David had done some pretty awful things to her but never questioned that it was the right thing to do.
Which brings me to …
2) Hook came back. (I realize this sounds like 1 but hear me out). Every time that Emma has wanted somebody in her life she’s had to go find them. She had to break the curse to get to her parents (she didn’t know this at the time but it’s how it happened). Likewise, she had to do Rumple a favor to get Neal back in her life (he was never going to come after her, whether he regretted leaving her every day or not – just like Milah did to him). Emma was the one that had to go and find people. Hook came back willingly, knowing he made mistakes but ready to make up for them to the point where he offered his ship to help find Henry, allowing Rumple on his ship with no questions asked and SETTING ASIDE HIS REVENGE in order to help. That is huge!
I know there’s also the argument that he did some of this for Bae (much like Rumple is doing this to honor Bae and look after his son), but the fact still remains that while Bae was a catalyst to remind Hook of the man he could be vs was in the past, Emma was still the one offering him what he really wants and Hook took her up on that and came back. That ship was so far out he could have been gone at any time and he kept just staring at the bean over and over again with a “darn it I have to do the right thing” look on his face.
3) Hook genuinely turned over a new leaf! He agreed with Emma originally in the take the easy, guaranteed way out and he could have gotten away. Likewise he could have gotten away before by stealing a bean off GOAT some other, more covert way, but he went to the Charmings and told them what was going on and wanted to help. Notice it was Charming who tried to steal from him first after working side by side. Sure, Hook put the bean in a different place and he had good reason to do so. Emma already crossed him once, why not her dad? Self-preservation is his strong suit but he came back in the end to people who have betrayed him before including Emma and gave them the bean.
Which leads to…
4) THE BEAN – Hook once compared Emma to a bean. Somebody has the exact quotes I’m sure (I don’t have notes from the earlier eps, it’s on my to do list). The bean is a very important symbol in their relationship. In this episode we saw Hook give the bean to Emma and Emma give it back to Hook to throw into the ocean to make the portal to Neverland. It was an important, very valuable object and they TRUSTED each other enough at that point. Hook willingly gave back the one thing that would guarantee his safety, and Emma gave him the one thing that would get her to her son and trusted him to take them to Neverland to get him back. HOOK IS BIG ON TRUST. I think they showed a lot of it by the end of the episode. (Fun thing I also noticed with the ship is that while everybody was spread out, Emma was right behind Hook, as close as she could be!)
Did the passing between them of the bean remind anybody of the thimble kisses exchanged in Peter Pan stories between Peter & Wendy? Also after everybody kept betraying him the entire episode it took a LOT for him to trust Emma. She’s betrayed him, her father has now betrayed him (more on that later) and he STILL came back AND gave her the bean. Reminds of of this little gem: “Try something new darling, it’s called Trust.” Hook took one more chance on her. He BELIEVED her offer when she wanted him to be a part of something. SO MANY FEELS!
4.1) EMMA PROTECTED HOOK – hear me out…when Hook took the pouch Charming was heading his way to do goodness knows what. Knock him out? Yell at him a little? I have no idea. BUT EMMA GOT IN THE WAY. Emma jumped in between the two and kept ALL of her attention on Hook. She pleaded with him. She reminded him that “we understand each other” and laid out her case. Sure Hook didn’t change his tone until after Charming was out of earshot and then he got all concerned about the REAL reason that Emma was doing this, but EMMA PROTECTED HOOK FROM CHARMING.
4.2) Did anybody else love that they showed Charming eyeing what was happening? I don’t think he’ll approve anytime soon but if Hook keeps racking up good guy points and parallels to Charming he’s going to have to eventually. We’ve already seen Snow eyeing their interactions back in FTL, now Charming is too. Yay!
4.3) Parallels that have been pointed out before but Charming & Hook do have a lot in common: they love deeply, they fight for what they want, they always find a way to get by, and they have a mutual fascination with the floor. Guys, I love you but please stop being knocked around so easily!
5) THE LOOKS – Ok the looks in this episode just about killed me. Hook was on the outs with basically everyone in SB for obvious reasons (Charming even decked him before he could explain anything just because he knocked Charming out in the sheriff’s station awhile back – it’s Charming’s way of saying hello, and Hook can take it!) HOOK WATCHED EMMA IN EVERY SCENE. It doesn’t matter who else was there, what was going on, if Emma was in the room, Hook was watching her. He saw the pain in her eyes, especially when it related to Henry. He tried to BOND with Charming with the comment “the things we do for our children” right before leaving the Charming’s home. Emma & Henry got to him, just like Milah & Bae.
6) THE PAST – this broke my heart into a million pieces. He was ready to change…actually he was changing! You could see it! The moment he knew who Bae was he gave him the blanket and made no effort to let Felix take him at the beginning. When he tells Bae that he has a lot to learn about pirates because he thinks they only care about themselves I was cheering! Seeing him look at Milah’s picture to start the ep was heartbreaking (even though I still hate her) and you could just see the flip of the switch on his face when he realizes who Bae is. He even threatens Smee for suggesting that he turn Bae over! That whole section was just….ahhh so many feelings.
6.1) TEACHING / BONDING – Hook taught Bae to drive the ship! I love that he finally used his hook for something (well, something other than that key moment in Tallahassee of course 😉 ), and was helping Bae remember which way was which. Messing with the hair was cute too. That scene was all kinds of cuteness and you could tell that Hook has absolutely no problem whatsoever with the idea of kids. In fact I’m pretty sure he wants that more than he’s usually willing to admit! He obviously loved spending time with Bae and was willing to ignore his Rumple hatred for it. That’s HUGE.
Did anybody else find it hot when Hook quickly disarmed a very upset Bae who had the nerve to try to chop his head off? Clearly Bae isn’t overly good with swords at this point (not that he’s a lot better at them in present day when he JUMPS OUT OF THE WAY AS CHARMING BLOCKS EMMA FROM AN INCOMING FIREBALL THANKS TO CORA but I digress). I felt so sad for Bae because in his head he thought he was avenging his mother before realizing that she abandoned him too but Hook was awesome at immediately deflecting that sword and getting back to the heart of the conversation instead. He wouldn’t let anybody go after the boy even though he was being attacked. Very touching.
6.2) SAD STORIES – Hook bonding with Bae telling him about his dad leaving him behind too *sobs* – Hook knows what it’s like to be abandoned just as much as Emma & Bae. When Bae confronts him and he’s telling him what really happened to Milah I just…ughhh I see where Henry gets it from now. Just because one bad thing happens doesn’t mean it’s on the same level as another bad thing! I get why Bae’s upset I really do but Hook did not kill Milah, Rumple did. The fact that Milah “regretted it every day” and wanted to go back for him some day just proves how much Neal is like Milah. They both have these grand ideas but never do anything about them. Hook wanting to have the life that Milah wanted for the 3 of them was so touching, especially with what he’d have to put up with – caring for the son of the Dark One but he was willing to do it, he was happy to change it was rightttt thereeeee
6.3) GRR BAE! – I love you but you make me so mad sometimes! You were reminding Hook of the man he wanted to be rather than what he is and then you hurt him so badly you turned him back into the ruthless pirate with absolutely nothing to lose and focused on revenge! He was going to forget about Rumple and focus on giving YOU a happy life on the ship but that wasn’t enough. *sigh* Though if he had done that we wouldn’t have much of a story and no Henry and no CaptainSwan.
I hated Bae’s sadness at being abandoned again though. It’s something Hook, Emma, and NealFire all share (which is why it’s a perfect parallel for CaptainSwan…) but he could have handled that a lot better.
7) HOW THE PAST IMPACTS THE FUTURE – This is basically like the flashbacks in Tallahassee to me. In Tallahassee we see Emma and her dreams with Neal of settling down and having a family – she even waited for him Tallahassee for 2 years AFTER HE LEFT HER IN JAIL (Emma, you are stronger than this now, please do not revert back and kill all your character’s awesomeness). Hook wanted to be a family with Bae for Milah’s sake, putting everything including Rumple aside and forgetting the past. BAE / NEAL LEFT BOTH OF THEM. This is one more thing bonding Hook & Emma – they have both been left by the people they loved and both of them have been left by NealFire, destroying their dreams.
7.1) Hook & Emma have new focuses – Hook is now doing the right thing and helping Emma. You could tell that he sees something in her that reminds him of Milah. He’s already told her she’d make a good pirate, and now here he is, faced with another Mother and her child and he CARES. If he didn’t care, he would have left on his ship and been exactly the man Bae accused him of being all those years ago in Neverland but he didn’t. He spent the ENTIRE episode watching Emma with Henry and remembering the times that he wanted that to be his life. To have a good woman and a son. This time, when Emma offered him to be a part of something and join them, he took her up on it (better late than never) but he did turn around to come back and do what Emma wanted which was to do the right thing.
7.2) HOOK READS HER LIKE AN OPEN BOOK – He put on a lot of bravado and self-preservation stuff when the whole room was listening but the moment Charming was out of earshot he leaned in very closely, changed his tone, and asked Emma what her real motivation for doing this was. (SO MANY FEELINGS IN THIS SCENE!) He knew that there was MORE to why Emma was willing to do things the hard way. He learned what Emma was doing and why and it made him go back. He saw in her and Henry all the things that a mother-son team should be and it was beautiful and he wanted to be a part of it. Honestly I think the only thing in this that was remotely upsetting was him realizing that Bae was the one that they were talking about. Bae was clearly the guy Emma referenced in Tallahassee and now we know that Hook once wanted Bae to be family and now he’s most likely dead (as far as the characters know). It was a double gut punch (and no, since Hook and Bae spent so little time together and it was antagonistic later on, I do not believe at this time that Hook would ship SwanFire – too many people were celebrating that last night. He may feel guilty once NealFire is back in the picture, but once again Hook has formed an attachment with a woman in Bae’s family and will probably form an attachment to her son as well but I think the difference this time will be he gets to stick around and be a part of things and have the mother-son still together rather than separated like Milah and Bae. It’ll be how it WORKS this time around. He’ll have some issues with NealFire obviously and it may make him pull back for a bit or try to find a way for them all to get along for Henry’s sake etc, but ultimately Hook is a man who fights for what he wants and all roads point to Emma. Hook has never been the kind of man who gives up the woman he loves because somebody thinks she should be with someone else. He almost died protecting Milah before she announced to Rumple she was still alive! I don’t see him just handing over Emma unless it’s in such a way that it’s Emma’s decision but even then I see him fighting for her. He’s the man who hasn’t left her, not really. She’s locked him up, tied him down and he still came back.
8) HE PROTECTED CHARMING – They haven’t had the best relationship. Hook knocked Charming out so he could get his hook back at the Sheriff’s station. Charming punched Hook just for being Hook when he walked into the Charmings. Charming was the one to double-cross Hook (or try to) by stealing the pouch after they finished with GOAT but HOOK was the one who was protective. Charming had already gotten grazed by a bullet and Hook had the bean that was supposed to save everybody (had they taken the easy way and just gotten on his ship and gone through a portal). HOOK WATCHED EMMA IN EVERY SCENE – he knew how important family was to her (and I’m sure he envied it). He saw her with her parents. He has daddy issues himself. Who else has Hook actually protected? He’s tried to kill Cora, he gave Aurora’s heart back at great risk to himself, but he & Charming were fighting with GOAT who had guns and he didn’t run and leave. HE HAD THE BEAN IN HIS POSSESION, CHARMING DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT IT, AND HE STILL STOPPED CHARMING FROM GOING AFTER THEM. “Live to fight another day mate” – he was adament that Charming survive…FOR EMMA. He tried to bond with him before they even left the apartment with the “the things we do for our children” line. I think deep down he wishes he were more like Charming, but either way – he protected Emma’s dad so that Emma wouldn’t lose anything else. He had everything he wanted and could have left Charming to risk his life on his own and he didn’t…even though Charming tried to steal from him just after (way to gain more trust from Hook, Charming family! First Emma, now Charming…no wonder he thought of leaving for a bit).
9) He let Rumple on his ship…without a word. HE LET RUMPLE ON HIS SHIP. It was obvious he wasn’t thrilled about it…but he did it, no questions asked, for Emma’s sake, and for Henry’s. I loved his little exchange with Rumple about not killing each other and then they got on with the mission at hand. LOVE IT.
Even after everything they’ve been through, Hook & Emma just “get” each other. They’ve got a long, emotional, obstacle-ridden road to go down but I can’t wait for Season 3! Just the idea of him so quickly offering his services to help find Henry and only glaring at the thought of Rumple going is enough for me for now but I am so excited to see Neverland through his eyes and watch how awesome it’s going to be for him to help get Henry back.
Not sure how long they’ll be in Neverland or how long they’ll believe NealFire to be dead but I hope that they have a good solid foundation before that happens and that Hook gets some bonding time with Henry. I think Henry will like him eventually too – regardless of Jared’s tweets last night. Seriously, I adore Jared but he tweeted “Why does everybody think Hook can be good. Give me a break.” Um…if Regina can be redeemed at all…and Rumple, then Hook DEFINITELY can. *sigh*
Ok so I rambled on a bit more than I originally thought I would…guess I had a lot more feelings about this amazing HOOK ep than I thought! Now time to listen to the official podcast which I’m hearing is up. *Fingers crossed it has something good in it*

Thanks for the link! Colin’s pretty good about keeping up the hope at least by always pointing out how much of a connection they have. Somebody tried to ask him last night if he ships them and he just said “I’m not sure” which I think is the safest answer he could really give. He needs to see scripts for next season etc but I know a lot of people are slamming the idea because he was with Milah and wanted to be a father to Bae etc etc so by looking at it from their perspective he could have other ideas in mind as well. I don’t believe like some that he will automatically ship SwanFire, especially when he does have such a strong connection to Emma, so he could be slightly conflicted just from an actor’s standpoint and we’d still get it regardless. Most of his interviews do emphasize the connection though…and JMO has been pretty good about that as well.
I need to rewatch PaleyFest to give myself better feelings. The official podcast kinda steered clear of most ships, especially ones involving Emma (though I think the episode last night gave just about everybody something to work with! lol). It’s gonna be a longggg summer.
One thing I forgot to add in my long rant of feels from last night is that Hook’s tone was completely different in this episode than we’ve seen before. He was still the cocky pirate at times (especially right before Charming punched him) but there was less emphasis on the flirting etc etc.
He waited for Charming to move away so he could have a private moment asking Emma what she was really thinking but it was never a flirty thing to get his way, it was always a serious thing whether it was self-preservation or asking what was going on (which was caring about her EMOTIONS!) or telling why he came back. He kept his eyes on her in every room she was in, regardless of who else was around, and his tone and caring and sincereness was everything I wanted it to be. Now we just gotta hope that the others see a different side of him on that ship in Neverland! Snow & Charming have both taken great interest in Emma’s interaction with Hook though (there’s gifs on tumblr of Snow watching intently, and now Charming in the diner doing the same) so Snowing are definitely noticing their baby interact with Hook and taking great interest in it.
It was really great that for this episode (especially what happened in the last one…) that Hook WASN’T being flirty. He was doing what needed to be done and was more caring and open and emotional than we’ve ever seen him but his WALLS WERE DOWN. It was just like the trip up the beanstalk. Emma gets to see that side when nobody else can. To the rest he’s probably just helping for no apparent reason (though I suspect Charming will pick up on the fact that Hook was speaking directly to Emma about the whole waiting for someone to remind him he could care thing!!! – seriously how else could that scene have been taken from Charming’s perspective? Hook was gazing intently at Emma and he did his whole get close and pause dramatically thing where it was clearly meant for lots and lots of feelings as he handed over the bean that would have let him escape instead of sticking around to try something that might not even work and I bet Charming and Snow picked up on some of that, maybe even some of the others – Regina did get a weird look on her face and got impatient about leaving which is how Hook learned their new mission even existed.)
Feeling more and more like we DO have something legit to hold onto over the summer. So many parallels that were set up very nicely to Snowing and with Hook’s past and of course the past of SwanThief to present day CaptainSwan interaction. I feel like everything that happened in the past is bringing them together now and those parallels DO exist and eventually people will have to see them.
Seriously loving (most) of the stuff on tumblr, I am definitely addicted to perusing it now. Not all of it is great and some are a little over the top with either ship but it does give me lots of good pics / gifs to peruse! I can see both sides so as fiercely as I defend CaptainSwan I get why both sides think they have something legit and real and endgame so I don’t love the over the top stuff or the meanness to others but there are some very talented people out there putting together gifs of the important scenes and how they parallel to other stuff we’ve seen and it’s legit visual proof that we ship CaptainSwan for a reason and we’re not delusional. BRING ON SEASON 3 where’s it’s completely obvious to all those with their heads in the sand. I’m tired of being discounted on everything just because I see more in Hook & CaptainSwan than others do! This show is about HOPE, not crushing others dreams of it. We are all Oncers!
Looking forward to the official cast announcement for S3 – clearly everybody on the boat + Henry, should have Neal in there too I would imagine but I’d like to see it absolutely 100% that Colin is a REGULAR and not just around for the first part of the season so that we can put any nastyness to rest before the season starts. May S3 bring us less Hook-hate threads and much, much more backstory so that Hook can show us his softer side – and hopefully more of Killian Jones along the way!

This finale was completely 100% foreshadowing of CS in S3 and IMO like in the finale of last season with Snowing, cemented them as true love.
Yes true they didn’t kiss but they might as well have because CS have come full circle.
They were never going to get anything overtly romantic yet, they were not ready. What they needed to do in order to get to that level, they did indeed do.
Hook chose Emma, which NEEDED to happen in order for this ship to sail. He chose her over completing his revenge. He took her up on her offer. He can be a part of her family and like with Bae and Milah, I am very positive he will be incredibly protective of Henry and Emma. Nobody can say Killian is not good father material, and if they do they’re living in a pit of massive denial. True Bae’s memory of what happened was substancial to him returning but it was Emma’s offer, Emma’s words that made him turn around as well. She is his something to care for now, he basically said as much when he returned and told her that he basically needed a reminder that he could be the hero he always was.
Emma trusts Hook now. She gave him the bean which is going to lead her to her most prize possession. She has placed her faith and her family in his hands. She is also shocked that someone actually chose her for the first time in their lives over doing what needed to be done in their mind. He came back to her. That has never happened before. I think you saw that when she looked to the horizon with a surprised look on her face and then when he gave her the bean.
This season finale was to put it in a way magical for CS and everything that in order to have a successful romantic relationship later on, happened. These two are set and now all we need now is time and this is going to be an epic love story.

Must admit I’m kinda annoyed at how little Hook’s current redemption has been mentioned or given props- what is it hate Hook mth?! When Regina or Rumple try to do the right thing, people are all over it like a wet rag & those two have committed mass murder- Hook actually does do the right thing & for the right reasons & it barely rates a mention in most interviews 🙁 Double standards much!
On the other hand I guess it could mean they want to keep it low key so they can knock it out of the park next season…wish we’d had Hook from S1, then his actions now would be taken for what they are (Funny how Hook is the 1st villain I have REALLY come to root for & care about- I now know how uber Rumple & Regina fans feel lol) 😉@Hookian wrote:

Emma trusts Hook now. She gave him the bean which is going to lead her to her most prize possession. She has placed her faith and her family in his hands. She is also shocked that someone actually chose her for the first time in their lives over doing what needed to be done in their mind. He came back to her. That has never happened before. I think you saw that when she looked to the horizon with a surprised look on her face and then when he gave her the bean.
This season finale was to put it in a way magical for CS and everything that in order to have a successful romantic relationship later on, happened. These two are set and now all we need now is time and this is going to be an epic love story.

I think I mentioned in my earlier…mini-novel (:S I’m trying to be a writer but I didn’t realize I had *quite* that much to say on the subject til I had to scroll so far down, sorry!) but I loved that for once we didn’t really have sassy, flirty Hook which tells me that it was all completely real. There was no facade. His walls were just down and we saw more emotion than we’ve ever seen which was great!
People keep saying that he flirts with anyone / everyone / is a cocky pirate etc. and he was none of those things where it mattered in this episode and I think / hope that people saw that. Big time. Whether they wanted to or not.
Parallels are super important in this show as are callbacks and after my initial freakout with all the feelings last night and going back to rewatch and really take note of everything that happened there are way more in that ep than I could possibly have dreamed of!
You’re absolutely right, Emma put all of her trust in him and he came back for her when he didn’t have to (and nobody else ever has!). She’s always had to go and find people: her parents because of Henry & his curse beliefs, Neal because she owed Rumple a favor…she never had to track down Hook, he came back for HER.
I am thoroughly going to enjoy going back through and rewatching everything we have so far and paying super close attention to everything Snowing, SwanFire, and of course CaptainSwan. I really believe that they’re paralleling everything to show us WHY CaptainSwan is perfect and needs to happen.
I was more timid and afraid of going down that route last night because with this show you never know and they left it in such a way this season that basically any shipper of anything has reason to have massive feelings right now and mostly of hope.
And then I was reminded of the way they shot stuff. The meaning behind it. I noticed it watching Tallahassee when Hook says something to the effect of what you want/need is right in front of you AND THEN WALKS IN FRONT OF HER WITH HER WATCHING HIM. And then there’s all of the meaningful looks of Snow and now of Charming closely watching her interaction with Hook. They never do that with Neal. Ever. The closest they’ve gotten is Charming nodding when Neal says he’s Henry’s dad, and Charming making sure that Emma is ok when he realizes that Emma was left in a room alone with Neal (when she’s drawing with the invisible chalk). That’s it. (I’m so with JMO – why isn’t DaddyCharming punching Neal for sending his daughter to jail, causing his grandson to be raised by the Evil Queen?? Yet he punched Hook – though admittedly that was payback. Also, Hook can take a punch cause he’s awesome like that and then launch himself into helping to save everybody cause he’s there to help now, bicker later <3.)
Charming tried to steal the bean from Hook the moment Hook saved his life and kept him from going after the people with guns. Charming punched him before their mission began, but Hook still came back to save Emma’s family, no matter the cost, and without even saying anything about Rumple once again being on board his ship.
Sure he glared but he’s not gonna be best friends with Rumple right now! Also, did anybody notice that Hook did for Emma what he didn’t do for Milah? He got in front of Emma when they were talking to Rumple. With Milah he was prepared to die before she showed up announcing she was alive to Rumple and after that he kinda let her run things and she ended up getting her heart crushed and dying in his arms. With Emma, the moment Rumple started walking toward them he got VERY protective and went to stand in front of her. Our Hook has learned a thing or two!
I cannot wait for him to bond with Henry! I know he’s going to save him, and Henry is going to have to get used to having Hook in his life and he might want to hate him for awhile (especially if he pulls a Bae and feels like Hook is going to ruin his life and rip apart his family…grr) but eventually Henry won’t be able to help himself cause Hook is cool and he’s not the bad guy people think he is.
Honestly I think Henry, if he can take his SwanFire goggles off, will see the goodness in Hook. If he can keep hoping for it in Regina (and getting it now since he saw her trying to protect everyone) then he can find it in Hook too…and he’s gonna like learning how to be a pirate. He’ll be the best of all worlds given everyone who loves him and he’ll have at least 3 people to learn to swordfight from (Charming, Neal, and now Hook) as well as archery lessons from Snow and horseback riding from Charming. Not to mention all the magical people in his life. He’s gonna be a force to be reckoned with!
I totally agree that Hook will be great with kids. Look at how adorable he was with Bae originally, managing to put aside his hatred for Rumple at the time just to have Bae in his life.
I’ve listened to various podcasts and one in particular is always talking about editing and foreshadowing etc etc (even though they also seem to think the foreshadowing isn’t so good for Hook right now, waiting to hear for this ep if things have changed much..) so I feel like I’m more in tune with studying the details and I can be super objective when needbe which is why I’ve been cautiously optimistic until now. That said, I reallllly studied last night’s ep and I feel like they ARE sending us down the path that I want them to send us down. That’s with my CaptainSwan goggles off and really studying the dialogue and the set up of the scenes etc.
I think you’d have to have blinders on not to at least say “ok, I see that maybe the CaptainSwan people have a point but I’m not sold yet.” You don’t have to be sold right now. We’re looking at the details way closer I’m sure. I feel like I’ve been fair in looking at the Snowing parallels to SwanFire too, but I don’t see the setup the same way that I do *technically speaking still* for CaptainSwan. I do not feel that CSers are “delusional” when they keep writing it in such a way to give us hope that there IS something big for us coming up and we have things to back us up on that.
I get why people may not want to see it or choose to ship something else and that’s fine. But it is there.
Also I will leave you with this last goodie that I found on tumblr (I’m seriously addicted now guys, so many wonderful gifsets that are just gorgeous and finally found a bigger group of CaptainSwan people that are backing us up, even when others are trying to knock us down – but I still love our little group in this thread!) *passes out cookies*

True that anything could happen- but as of now A&E haven’t given us actual reason to believe CS is not going to happen- in fact they’ve done the opposite.
Honestly I think Charming got away with punching Hook because for 1) they don’t see him as an all powerful evil doer & 2) Charming & Hook are very much alike in may ways- more so than Neal & Charming- no one would ever dream of socking Neal because you then have the darkone to deal with & we all know how that turns out!
I don’t remember Hook getting in front of Emma tho- if you are thinking about around the JR’s gangplank, Hook was still standing on it (the gangplank), with Emma directly below him when Rumple turned up from behind- Hook hadn’t moved from that spot until they all started to board.
Another thing that just occurred to me- what with Hook being a pirate & all, Snowing castle is right on the edge of either an ocean, an inland ocean, giant lake/loch – Henry, Emma & Hook could have it all 😉
