Participant@HappyEndings – I would like them to go to the EF…I really want to see fish-out-of-water-Emma. JMo was hilarious in the S2 when she and Snow were in the EF – particularly when they’re sitting around and eating and she’s sniffing everything first.
Ok, I’m so glad you posted the Hook & uh, his hook pics, @Surayya! I was thinking about those two scenes. It’s so subtle but Hook’s actions in the two are incredible – and just one more thing that shows the audience how much he’s come to care about Henry as an individual.
Ok, and I have a question for @PriceofMagic – or any other of the Brits – who else is from the UK? I was talking about this in chat but I don’t think we had anyone who could answer. So, as we know Colin does not use his real accent as Hook – to the American ear, it sounds pretty British – but what does it sound like to an actual Brit? Is it a good accent or is it like Anna Paquin – a Canadian doing a not-so-great Southern accent? And why don’t they have Colin use his real accent??? An Irish Hook!!!

I’ve been thinking about that. I don’t see why he can’t use his natural accent. I’m not British but occasionally I’ve heard an Irish twang – for want of a better word. Also, I though Anna Paquin was a New Zealander, unless she’s been living in Canada for so long she lost her Kiwi accent.
If one is to engage with the primordial forces of darkness, one must expect a little social awkwardness

Anna Paquin was born in Canada (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and lived there until she was 4. I’ve noticed that her Kiwi accent is very faint now, I guess she’s been living in the US for a number of years now.

ParticipantHypable Honors: The week’s best performances.
Show: ‘Once Upon a Time’
Actor: Colin O’DonoghueIn the first Hook centric episode since we saw him as a proper sailor in season 2, Colin O’Donoghue had us eating out of the palm of his hand, er… hook. Without a doubt, Captain Hook has had quite the transformation over the last 17 episodes, but watching him digest just how noble his new motivations are, and just how much he cares about Emma was far and away the best plotline we have had for him yet.
Not only is the character progressing through his feelings for Emma, he is slowly understanding that his most basic of motivations, pirating, has changed. Colin had some very heavy material to deliver this past week, and we couldn’t be more impressed as a fandom. From the bottom of our hearts: Thank you for helping make Captain Hook a daydream worthy man.http://www.hypable.com/2014/04/18/hypable-honors-the-weeks-best-performances-5/

Yes but she was/still is a NZ resident/citizen as far as I know (or can you be a dual citizen of both Canada & NZ at the same time? I thought that option was unique to just Aussie & NZ (down under) citizens) ie. She is a Canadian-born, New Zealand actress. Lol- we still hear her kiwi accent clear as day, esp when she’s working with Americans ;)- but I guess it’s because we are ‘used’ to hearing straight American or British accents in TV & film 99% of the time 😉
I too would be fine- more than fine actually 😉 with an ‘Irish’ Hook- I mean, it’d only make him that much sexier …. oh maybe that’s why they didnt- Emma has to be able to resist somehow lol 😉

ParticipantGosh I love reading everyone’s comments! I don’t get on to post very often but I love all your insights and fanfic pictures and everything else! I am a hopeless romantic and my husband doesn’t really enjoy sappy fairytale stuff so I watch when he is gone. =)
But I just have to say that I LOVE the idea of seeing Hook and Emma on a date! I think it would be so cute and funny to see him take her to a movie in an attempt to join our modern world. I especially think it would be fun to see him watch any version of Peter Pan, or the movie Hook! To see how our world depicts him and get all offended. Haha! I’d love to see that. But, I’d also love to see them go bowling too. There are a lot of funny date scenarios we can imagine I’m sure! I DEFINITELY think that we need to see Hook serenade Emma though. Just sayin. That HAS to happen. =)
So here is another thing that I keep wondering: Henry learned to believe in magic way back in season 1 based soley off the stories in the fairytale book MaryMargret gave him as his teacher. He read it then and put the pieces together that everyone in his hometown were characters from the stories. So my question is… WHERE IS THE FAIRYTALE BOOK?! When Regina ripped up the curse a year ago, and everyone was sent back to the EF, it looked like the smoke went around the book. At least that’s what I think. If they found it and gave it to him, I don’t see why he wouldn’t figure things out again. He is the truest believer! He already knows something is up, he would pick up on the stories again pretty quick. I’ve read several comments about how Henry will react to Emma when he finds out the truth, and how he may not trust her or be mad at her etc… I think that if he learned to believe in the stories, and learned the truth THAT way, then he could better understand why his mom was trying to protect him by not telling him. His belief would be learned all on his own, and so it wouldn’t be something that was just thrown at him like if Emma just straight up told him, “Hey, Mary Margret and David are really Snow White and Prince Charming, and they are your grandparents, and everyone here is from a magical land called the EF, and you just forgot everything.” I want the book to come back! (and to figure out where it originally came from!) Maybe Hook can find it and give it to Henry! Since Emma doesn’t appear too excited about ever telling Henry the truth and Hook thinks he should know. He could give it to him as a way of telling him the truth without actually “telling” him the truth.
