[adrotate group="5"]That’s right I always forget Anna Paquin lived in NZ…but yes, to an American her southern accent can sound…strange. I have a thing with accents probably because I’m a New Englander and our accent gets destroyed by virtually any non New Englander who attempts it.
Ok so Hook and Emma cross the town line cause they can, steal a boat, then go bowling, where Hook can serenade Emma. Sounds like a perfect date to me!
Ok, and I have a question for @PriceofMagic – or any other of the Brits – who else is from the UK? I was talking about this in chat but I don’t think we had anyone who could answer. So, as we know Colin does not use his real accent as Hook – to the American ear, it sounds pretty British – but what does it sound like to an actual Brit? Is it a good accent or is it like Anna Paquin – a Canadian doing a not-so-great Southern accent? And why don’t they have Colin use his real accent??? An Irish Hook!!!
Colin does a decent accent as Hook. I think the reason why they don’t have Colin use his real accent is because some americans have difficulty understanding irish accents or any strong accents.

Hypable has it right. Colin’s performance further proved his quite amazing talents. Those not embroiled in an energy and time wasting empty-souled vendetta against Hook (which means the vast majority of the viewing audience) because he isn’t the Ken Doll of all things Disneyesque and because another male character bit the dust, had a marvelous chance to see the scope of his emotional acting skills. On a risk taking show that has to balance a very odd combination of drama/fantasy/comedy to appeal to all ages in a family viewing hour, he consistently shines.

date? Just give Killian and Emma a ship on a calm sea under some bright and peaceful shining stars with no one close by to pester / interrupt them and I think it would be alllll they need.

I too would be fine- more than fine actually with an ‘Irish’ Hook- I mean, it’d only make him that much sexier …. oh maybe that’s why they didnt- Emma has to be able to resist somehow lol
I love his Irish accent! But its very soft and his faux-British accent is harsher in contrast. The fake accent is like his leather pants- he can’t turn into Hook unless he completely transforms himself. Colin’s too sweet to be Hook.
Love how she has no hesitation telling it like it is with Hook & Henry 🙂

Probably not, It looks more WW, Snow & Regina centric- but even when we get very few CS scenes, they tend to be golden ones *thinks fondly of the whole ‘if it can be broken, it still works’ scene* 😉
