I’m quite OK with there being less attention on Hook and Emma for now. There are a lot of stories to be told and answers to be given. There are almost too many plotlines going on anyway (grin) for any normal brain to digest. Letting the emotions simmer with a few little sparks of tease and taunts will be good. We know it won’t last long at any rate. They have ten episodes of stuff to squeeze into four!
We have the introduction of Glinda soon to add to the chaos and Hook still has some *’splainin’* to do about how he got the potion, kept all his EF memories and how/to whom he traded off The Jolly Roger to get to Emma. No one in Storybrooke wants to know???? The suspension of curiosity among these characters is often head-shakingly *duh*. A while back it was mentioned by Adam that Hook may have been tricked…and I am not sure that referred to the Ariel/Zelena rouse, though that certainly qualified as a trick. I don’t want to see Hook turn into an angst driven brooder, but I don’t want him to be the second coming of Charming either. They have moved two giant steps forward with his character struggles and growth, I hope they don’t go three steps back! I am not sure at this point if- a playful and willing to open her heart to that *fun* he mentioned- Emma would let him backslide for too long!All those burning answers could be summed up in three dialogue sentences anyway.

Dallas was very clear about Emma’s love life that “at the end of the day, it has to her choice“. It’s not up to Charming or anyone else to decide for her who she chooses to love, and if that person happens to be a certain pirate (Colin O’Donoghue), so be it.

I think Rumple could give it back to Hook, as a way for helping to free him from the Wicked Witch. I’ve been hearing that happy endings are earned and probably, in addition to ending up Emma, Hook becomes a whole man again.
Imagine how much more beautiful a True Love’s kiss would be between Hook and Emma, Hook cradling Emma’s head with both hands, and the 180 camera pan?! ‘Cause Hook cradles Emma’s head the same way Charming does.
Loved what Josh said too. There’s really no winning in answering those questions but I get why people still ask it of him as ProtectiveDaddy!Charming and all. Charming has seen a good side to Hook, they are somewhat friends now (still not over Charming patting Killian on the shoulder to comfort him and Killian’s eyes starting to water), but like he said, NOBODY is ever going to be good enough for his little girl! ESPECIALLY since he missed so much of her life already! He was supposed to be her protector and he saved her long enough to send her into the wardrobe and then when they were reunited, he found out she basically had an awful life and bad things just keep on happening. He just wants her to be HAPPY and it’s one of the things I loved about him wishing they could ALL go back to the EF because this world has been cruel to her. Ultimately he wants her happy and I think once it’s made SUPER SUPER obvious how happy Killian makes her, the rest of her family will get in line.
Henry is already on that arc this half-season because he now knows the history behind why Emma was so closed off for so long. It will give him a different angle to view things once he gets his memories back (he better), and I genuinely think he’ll just want her to be happy. I even think Snow will come around when it’s made more obvious and Emma lets those walls down a bit more. MM was always so observant and encouraging of her finding love and being happy so it’s been tough to see MM projecting onto her and guessing what it might be instead of listening to and reading Emma like she used to, but I think, especially with recent events, that Emma will have to be more the pursuer to get Hook’s walls down since he’s having to keep his distance right now and that at some point, either something major will happen that brings it out in the open a la Henry in S1, or Emma will just finally let it show more.
We saw a hint to that starting when she told Killian that she didn’t care what happened in the last year and basically expected him to join them for dinner etc, and I think in the upcoming episodes more of that will definitely be happening. Based on what I’m hearing about a little scene in tonight’s episode, I’m definitely excited.
I just really want Emma to smile. We’ve gotten it a few times around Killian but often in the quiet moments just the two of them. So of COURSE everyone sees HIM pining for HER and consider her indifferent based on what she says. Going back and watching MM in S1 know that Emma wouldn’t be bringing something up if it were really nothing, and then jumping to conclusions in 3A about her reasoning for bringing something up can be frustrating, but Emma isn’t really giving people a lot to work with.
The hints have been there from time to time, like her asking Charming if he’s trying to keep her away from Hook, or telling Snow that she kissed Hook, or the fact that she willingly has him by her side on almost everything, not to mention the COUNTLESS observations we’ve seen from Snow and Charming watching their interactions. We’ll get there, but seeing Emma actually be openly happy with someone will be a big part of it. She’s been so sad and miserable for so long and everyone just wants her to be happy. So bring on Flirty!Emma some more but make it super obvious and not just when they’re alone (though I love that too).
Seriously, there are SO MANY underrated moments for CS that I don’t even care when we don’t get the big stuff in the episode. Even if it’s just a scene or two, the teamwork, the supportiveness, the banter, etc etc is wonderful. It’s the little moments that make everything else special. Even if it’s just a brief lightening of the moment that makes her smile, it’s an important scene for them. Some will always say it’s been rushed but this is the slow burn guys, like Killian we’re in it for the long haul. He is plowing through those walls and now she has to work on his a bit too. But those little moments, those are our “good moments” that we have to look for, no matter what else is going on. Otherwise what’s the point? That was Charming’s ENTIRE POINT with Snow and then Emma – that bad things happen, chaos is always going to be around, other things will always get in the way (villains will always try to split them up, grr…) etc etc, but find those good moments. And if CS does one thing really really well (and frankly more than one but go with me) it’s finding and appreciating those little moments, even when the rest of the episode is focused elsewhere, or our favorite pair isn’t glued to the hip of the other because they’re off doing goodness knows what.
IT’S THE LITTLE THINGS – THEY ADD UP and CS has those little but good moments in spades.

Brief thing on the hook – honestly at this point I’m torn. I love that Emma embraces it as part of who he is and isn’t put off by it or is trying to “fix him” but at the same time, it could be really really awesome if she were to return his hand and literally and figuratively make him whole again (though she won’t think he needs it – if she does it I think it would be because that’s what he wants – she clearly doesn’t have a problem with it and JMO even said there’s something sexy about the hook lol).
I’d love for the Hook-Rumple thing to come full circle and for Rumple to give it back (letting Emma reattach it of course) and it symbolize them finding a way to make peace with one another. That could be really beautiful and would explain how they randomly have it back now.
There’s also the teases about whatever is going on in the finale and whether that’s just an au seen through a crystal ball, or actual time-travel stuff or goodness knows what but he *might* have both handsetc etc etc. We just don’t know yet! So I’m anxious to see if/when and how this might go about happening.
That said, if he does get the hand reattached, I fully expect one of the first if not THE first things he does to be kissing Emma and running that hand through her hair like you know he wants to! I’m sure the hook must be quite awkward for him romantically and to our knowledge, he’s been loyal to the memory of Milah (as per Colin, and on-screen hints that he was only focused on revenge and was never able to let go of Milah until Emma came along), so it’s very likely that Emma is the first person he’s actually been involved with (beyond flirting/charming to get what he wants in his quest for revenge) so it could easily come to the point where he is a bit more self-conscious about the hook and/or wishes he had his hand back. Again I think if he does get it back it’ll be because he CHOOSES to and/or they NEED to give it back so he doesn’t stick out somewhere etc.
This whole season, basically from the moment he came back and realized that part of that reasoning was his growing feelings for Emma, we’ve seen the hook become rather awkward. Him stumbling to do things that even sick/near-death Charming could do better because he had both hands (lighting things for instance), and this half-season especially he’s had to keep it hidden a lot already.
So I could really see it going either way – embracing it as a part of who he is and keeping it that way and not needing anything else, or choosing to complete the physical transformation back to more of Killian and less of Hook (though with some of the sass intact I’m sure). Again depends on whether it needs to happen for some reason, or things just naturally move in that direction.
I would imagine that if Henry were to not get his memories back (I think he will but let’s just say no for a second), then it would be rather cumbersome to have to hide it all the time when Henry’s around, especially if the option of getting it back is on the table. The gloved hand attachment works fine and he’s done well for himself with the hook even, but he’s still going down the path of trying to become the man he once was/always wanted to be instead of the pirate he became when he was at his lowest. Emma is restoring his ability to love and the desire to be the good, honorable man so I could see him at some point wishing that he could have it back, but I do love that she embraces it as part of him too. So torn!

OMG, and what’s really beautiful about this is that they both embrace things about themselves that the other one otherwise finds uncomfortable. Last week, Emma was uncomfortable about her magic and Hook’s alright with who she is. He loves everything about her and he isn’t put off by her magic.
And then coming up, Emma’s okay with the hook, the thing Hook sometimes likes and other times, despises. I’ve read fanfics about this where Emma accepts that the hook is a part of him and loves him regardless. So, it’s really beautiful to see that become reality.
