ParticipantOne thing that I found very interesting was the diner scene after Hook told Emma there’s too much going on right now to talk about what’s bothering him. I would’ve expected Emma to just take that response at face value, and breathe a sigh of relief that she didn’t have to add something else to her plate – but she didn’t. She started to say she could understand but – and then they got interrupted by Belle. It seemed like she was going to try a different tack to continue the conversation – not in a pushy way, and not because she’s dying to know just because he’s got some kind of secret, or because she’s afraid of trusting him knowing something’s wrong – simply because she sees he’s upset and she wants to help him.
And the blocking of that scene when they’re leaving Regina’s – that was perfect. You saw Hook move to escort Emma – just like Charming was doing to Snow. Just like an established couple. I caught her face – and I kind of read it as a combination of recognizing the significance, yet noticing her pulled back, but knowing now is not the place especially when he’s acting…like he’s acting. I love all of the little things they put in to point out Emma & Hook are getting closer and closer to that established territory.
I liked all of the little CS moments we got, but overall, I wasn’t thrilled with the ep. I don’t think I’ve seen an ep I really hated, but this is definitely the one I liked the least this arc. I felt like they kind of wasted an episode with this huge flashback when it seemed to me you could probably have just explained it in conversation. We know Cora – I don’t know if any of us were surprised that when it came to choosing between herself and her own kid, she chose herself…and was her intent to just leave her there, in the wilds? Also, I don’t know how I feel about the “sorry that was me crossing my legs” bit during the séance though. It was really weird. Like, did they feel they needed something to break up the action in the scene so they threw that in, or were they trying to suggest maybe Hook did it on purpose? I haven’t really been in the threads yet, but it seems like something non-CSers would have a field day with – a la “Hook’s in on it! He’s EEEEEVIL!! See?? EEEEVIL!!”

KeymasterHello CSers.
Would you please read THIS notice from myself and Matt?
Feel free to ask questions if you have them.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 21, 2014 at 8:10 pm #262972killianhookfan
ParticipantOkay, I have to say I kind of love the idea of CS kissing in order to save Henry only to have BOTH of them be shocked as all get out that it is TLK and end’s up breaking Hook’s kissing curse instead of stealing Emma’s magic. The reason I love this idea is that it is basically Emma and Killian making a difficult decision together in order to save THEIR son since Killian is going to be one of the dad’s in Henry’s life now. So essentially it will be Henry’s parents’ TLK that will save him. Both Emma and Killian are super protective of Henry. And it would KILL Killian to know that his guilt led to Emma losing her magic OR to Henry dying BUT, oh my goodness, what would it do to him to know that his love for Emma is actually the thing that SAVES Henry?! And what will it do to Emma to know that her love for Killian makes her stronger/more powerful and better able to protect her child?!

ParticipantOk, chat’s down, I can’t quote anyone…I think we finally broke the forum. I blame the CS goodness. tee hee.
@Rumplegoldfan, all I have to say is I LOVE IT!!!!I’ve been thinking how this all could fit – although I think Emma plays a part in beating Zelena, I still really want that to be Regina’s battle first and foremost. But I also want a CS TLK! And with so much focus on Emma’s magic the last few eps, I knew it was building up to something, but I couldn’t see the overall curse (curses?) being broken by a CS TLK…but like you explained, RGF, maybe their TLK breaks this mini-curse while showing just how powerful CS is as a couple. We know they’re strong individually, and that they compliment each other well – and we also know they are so much stronger as a couple – so for their first act as a real, true, couple, to break a curse with TLK and save Henry?! Mind. Blown!!!

ParticipantJust read an interview with A&E & we can now shot down the “fan service” arguments for CS now, as they gave insight as to how far ahead each ep is written- making “fan service” impossible 🙂
Is there any character who has gotten more time on screen based on fan reaction?
Adam Horowitz: “I wouldn’t say that. Look, we love to listen to our fans and to hear from all of our fans on what they’re thinking and feeling but…”
Edward Kitsis: “When we originally wrote the pilot, our idea was that Prince Charming didn’t get out of the coma until episodes three or four. We felt that would be a great thing to build to, and Josh [Dallas] was so good in the pilot that we woke him up in the next episode. So oftentimes characters will get…it’s based on excitement. That’s a perfect example. We hadn’t even aired, it was a pilot, but we were so excited by Josh and the way he portrayed this character that we started writing for him more.”
Adam Horowitz: “Right. And it’s a balancing act of we want the fans to be happy, we want create a show that they appreciate and like, but we have to go with our gut. The example Eddie just explained is a perfect example of that where it’s like Josh was so amazing in the pilot that it kind of shifted a lot of the thinking about when the character would wake up and all that, that it forced us to act in a different way. It has to come from the gut and you have to go with your instincts. And, also, the way that the show is produced particularly this year when we did 11 episodes and 11 episodes, by the time we aired the first episode of the second run this year, we were writing the finale. So we really have to learn to trust our instincts and hope the fans trust them as well and go along with them.”
Edward Kitsis: “You can’t adjust that quickly. We don’t do it live. So if they’re like, ‘Wow, we really want more of somebody,’ you can’t just change the next week’s episode because that’s been locked and cut for months.”
Adam Horowitz: “It’s that thing where you want to know what the fans think and feel and appreciate that, but you also can’t write by polling.”
Edward Kitsis: “If we listened to everything, every character would be alive, dead, married, and single. [Laughing] I don’t know how to do all four.”
Adam Horowitz: “Exactly. And we would still be writing episode 102. We’d still be trying to figure out what to do, based on millions of opinions.”
They also had this to say on CS’s story for the rest of 3b-
What does the future hold for Hook and Emma? Adam Horowitz: “As far as Hook and Emma…” Edward Kitsis: “…there’s more to be told.” Adam Horowitz: “There’s more to be told and there’s a lot of craziness going on in Storybrooke right now that they’ve both got to deal with.” Edward Kitsis: “Unfortunately, Emma wants to go back to New York and Hook wants her to stay, so we’ll see what happens.”
They increased my excitement for this ep ten fold with this little gem 🙂
We’ve found out a little bit about what happened to Hook over the past year. Are we going to get more memories back before the finale? Adam Horowitz: “I think that the mystery of that missing year will be definitely resolved before the end of this year.” Edward Kitsis: “We will see a big chunk of that next week in episode 19 called ‘A Curious Thing.’”

ParticipantLOL- this just cracked me up :p
when you’re studying how to break a curse but your magical girlfriend keeps trying to impress you 😉

ParticipantI’m starting to wonder if Hook cast the curse. Not in a bad way. We have all been assuming that whoever cast the curse did it for a BAD reason but what if they didn’t? We have also been assuming Killian was able to get to Emma FROM the EF, but what if he wasn’t? Let’s say the WW is going around and all heck is breaking loose and everyone figures out what she is trying to do. And then they figure out that there is only person whose magic is strong enough to defeat the WW and that person is Emma. Although Snow and Charming didn’t want Emma to have to be the savior anymore and to be able to live a normal life, if they found out their baby was in danger (another baby!) I could see them being willing to get Emma involved to save her brother or sister. So what if they get a message to Killian explaining what is happening and asking him to return but he never actually sees the WW so he has no idea what she looks like. They figure out that they can’t bring Emma to the EF and Killian can’t get to Emma directly from the EF so the only way to defeat the WW is to take everyone, including the WW to the EF. They all decide Killian is obviously the best choice to get Emma but this time to cast the curse he has to sacrifice the THING he loves most that he POSSESES – the Jolly Roger. Just like the curse before, everyone except the person who cast the curse loses their memories so Killian then leaves SB immediately to get Emma, not telling anyone that he cast the curse because now everyone, like us, also sees the curse as negative because they can’t remember and Killian has no idea what the WW looks like. Maybe that is why he actually doesn’t want to tell Emma about the missing year. Even though it isn’t bad that he cast the curse because it’s what they all agreed on to defeat the WW, he hadn’t planned on having the burden of being the only one who remembered and feels guilty for being the only one who remembers that they purposely brought her back. But he has still allowed HER to figure out on her own that she needs to use her magic to defeat the WW – he has never TOLD her because he knows how she feels about being the savior. He only told her she should embrace that part of herself once she started to head down that path. The synopsis for the next episode said an unlikely person cast the curse, we still don’t know exactly what happened to the JR although we all assume he sacrificed it for Emma, and I find it hard to believe that the thing with Ariel and potentially trading his ship for memory potion is the ONLY reason he wouldn’t tell Emma about his missing year. I’m typically always wrong with my theories but yesterday when I read the synopsis, this just came to me.

ParticipantI’ve been thinking something similar @rumplegoldfan. This time it’s cast out of love rather than hate & I love that idea 🙂 The only thing that throws a spanner in the works for me, is A&E said someone was going to die (still *sigh*) & it makes sense if that was the person that lost their heart in order for the curse to be cast :/

ParticipantMaybe it goes down something like when Regina enchanted his Hook to take hearts? So maybe Glinda gives him some kind of instructions to cast a new curse, gives him a memory potion, and sets this all in motion.
