It really is great that we, as Captain Swan supporters, see such positive and continually encouraging playing out of a delicious love story for two of our favorite characters. Yeah it could turn on a dime and cause us major angst attacks, but so far, it is being validated weekly, feeling wonderful and it is a great place to dwell. May it delightfully continue to do so!

    Concerning A&E’s plot planning…

the series is their story to tell and we are quite simply, their audience. The speculation can be massive fun and spark a thousand outlets for creative thinking  and specifically fanfic, which  thankfully provides a wonderful platform for imagination, and encourages others who never would have had the courage before to actually write, to gleefully put fingers to keyboard! All a good thing.

It is still not the fandom’s story to tell. Ever. Shooting schedules and deadlines dictate that concepts be established far in advance of viewers’ desires or reactions. Ego is also a huge component. Creators are notorious for serving their own egos! As are creator-writers. (And that includes fan fic writers).

Networks certainly have  their powerful say, but their say is brutally $ driven, not creativity driven. They are only interested in fans if it ultimately makes them $.

When the unveiling of the presented story actually matches that of the fanfic world it is a truly beautiful thing. And mostly coincidence!

Plot driven fan pandering is, overwhelmingly, a myth and the battle cry of often immature viewers who refuse to accept that they didn’t get their particular fantasy serviced.

(The real down side of that is the creation of a portion of a (any/every) fandom that lives in constant and often mean spirited denial and blame mode. Cannot be avoided or changed, just endured)

Being a vibrant (especially because of social media) part of a fandom is a double edged sword but still…the reality of OUAT is~even in a world about fantasy~it is always A&E’s story to tell.

I agree 100% Bo. However it is nice to know now that when faced with the inevitable “fan service” war cry of disappointed shippers, we have proof- set in black & white floating out there in cyberspace for ever, which we can fall back on to say ‘wrong- XYZ has nothing to do with fan service, the scripts where written mths in advance & unless they have a time machine, they cant be writing for “fan service” 😉

I read the interview with A&E about the finale[\spoiler] (http://www.tvguide.com/special/finale-preview/PhotoGallery/Must-Watch-Finales-1080432/1080476). Why is it that anytime they talk about [spoiler]Upcoming deaths[\spoiler], I automatically start to [spoiler]worry it might be Hook who they’re going to kill off?

I agree with all that you said, bo.  You seriously cannot a write a show based on the fan’s attitude’s and whims.  Shows that work this way, are seriously doomed to fail because storylines would be going all over the place and none of it would NOT make sense week to week.

That’s a very plausible theory.  I can also see ‘hate’ coming from the anti-Hook people about it, but if Snow and Charming didn’t see any other way, then maybe the backlash won’t be so horrible.

I’m coming around to this Hook cast the curse theory…but like the idea of it being a collective agreement between the major players.

Sarah at this point Hook is probably the safest – he’s not getting killed off. 1) A&E wanted Hook forever, and it wasn’t easy to finally get the rights.  2) ABC has crazy love for Hook.  He is the OUAT poster boy.    They aren’t about to let A&E kill Hook off…and yes if the networks says it’s not happening then it’s not happening.   These reasons, in addition to the fact that he’s integral to the story, are why I knew he wasn’t a viable contender for a/the death.

I’m kind of thinking that if they all agreed to cast the curse, it was very similar to when Snow and Charming agreed to put Emma in the wardrobe before the first curse.  They chose to believe that Emma would find them and break the curse.  Now it could be basically the reverse.  They are agreeing the send themselves back to SB with potentially no memory of what has been happening, choosing to believe that Hook would be able to find Emma and bring her back and that Emma’s magic will be strong enough to defeat the WW.

You could get some really good Captain Charming bonding moments in there because this situation would really have an “I will always find her” feel to it, coming from Hook.

Plus A and E said there was a very specific reason it HAD to be Hook who went to get Emma.  It would make complete sense that it would HAVE to be Hook who goes to get Emma if everyone else loses their memory when they get back and don’t even know they are SUPPOSED to get Emma.

The more I think about it the more I think it was Hook who cast the curse.  And if that is the case, if they have a TLK in the next episode would it not only break his kissing curse but ALSO bring back everyone’s memories as well since he was the one who cast the curse that caused them to lose their memories???

It was mentioned on the podcast, maybe we’ll get a double True Love’s kiss.  I thought it was an odd statement at the time, but okay,  True Love’s kiss will break any curse.  So, maybe TLK would counter Hook’s curse and also protect Emma as well.

I love the snippets from Adam and Eddie’s interview from WonderCon, because it’s stuff we’ve talked about before. Like this one about family.

Adam Horowitz: How do you be a part of a family? Or, how do you find a family, because you’re family doesn’t have to be blood? That’s the greatest thing you can see with the characters is when they find each other and come together and form their own family.

    [x]

That last part is just so beautiful because again, we talked about this, how Captain Swan (and to some extent, Outlaw Queen as well) is about characters coming together to form their own family.

Oh, Oh,Oh- Just had another thought- JR is made from enchanted wood right?! Well what if Killy sacrificed the JR to have a portal made from it in which he could get to Emma?

My only problem (aside from what A&E said about the death & the curse requiring a heart), is why does the WW still have her memories- it means 1 person HAD to have escaped the effects fo the curse- but was that person Killy or WW …. & if it’s WW (due to Killy casting it), why isnt she tearing the place apart to find out why on earth they brought her there? WW knows more, than we know she knows & I dont like that- it leaves to many options on the table for my liking.

Forgive the rambling as I think out loud here, but

I wonder if Snowing goes to Glinda, she says something like ‘sorry, no one in FTL is strong enough to oppose WW (esp with DO at her at her beck & call), your only hope is to have Emma take her down (or words to that effect)’. So it’s back to Regina (unless they grill Glinda for info/ways to do it to), to find out how to cast a curse to get back to SB, but they know whomever casts it will be the only one to remember what happens & possibly stuck in SB with everyone else & it HAS to be someone Emma “trusts/listens too” (WW gets wind of the plan ala ‘circling spy/s’ & either heads of to cast it before they can or to make a counter curse/potion that say’s ‘drink me or something’ lol), Snowing & Co. find out WW knows (or that was their plan all along), as a back up they send word to Killy (who all have agreed is the only one Emma will ‘trust’ & listen too), to go portal hoping to get back to Emma & to use the JR’s wood as a portal? to do so- it could be that he has to fashion a vessal from the enchanted wood, that actually protects him from the after effects of the curse, but he is swept up by it & transported to SB, where he then leaves to go find Emma. If Snowing & Co manipulated WW into casting the curse, then it is still a ‘surprise’ to see why & who cast it. But I love the idea of Killy casting it on Snowings pleading that he is the only one Emma will listen to as she ‘trust’ him & we get Snowing telling Killy they’ve ‘seen how Emma acts around him’ etc. Could be a good way to tie up some loose ends & help with why Killy thinks he & Emma are TL as well.

UGH! This spoiler code better friggn work this time! I give up if it doesnt! :/
