Really Snowing paralleling Swanfire. I have never seen it. If anything the couple I see paralleling ST is Milah and Rumple. They’re both tragic stories and there are tons of parallels between them. “You did this because a seer told you to” you did this because Pinochio told you to”
The parallels between CS and Snowing is insane and its FAR from vague, the season finale even had a major parallel. Both Charming and Hook left SB, returned, and reunited and talked first with the woman that made them go back.
[adrotate group="5"]The ship actually clearly is going to be a main player in the series. Hook’s never going to give it up but essentially it’s like a vehicle. They said it in Tiny the ship is made up of enchanted wood. Which means like the wardrobe, it can travel between dimensions. Which more than likely means it will be used as a way in the series for the characters to get through to dimensions.
No doubt Colin is here to stay. Hook’s the character they wanted from the beginning of the show as a regular. Colin is indeed here to stay for the majority of the shows run. He’s a series regular and now stated as a core character.
I was listening to the official podcast and one of the things I loved to hear that goes with the thing about Hook having this hole in his heart that he’s been trying to fill. Yes at first he was trying to fill it with revenge once he thought he could raise Bae he though that would fill it but of course that didn’t work so he went back to filling it with vengence. The thing they said on the podcast was that when Hook thought he had succeeded he didn’t even feel that great about it, his revenge didn’t succeed in filling that hole left in his heart. He needed something special to be a part of Emma he feels can do that for him. Hook returning in the Jolly Roger suddenly stopping was a clear reference to David stopping right before the town line. When he finally gave in and realized that Emma’ offer to be a part of something is what can fill the hole in his heart. Emma had the same thing after being left alone but having a family now if what helped her so in a way one could make a case that what Emma was saying to Killian in the diner was that I felt like you do but being a part of this family is making that emptiness go away it can do the same for you.

I think the major thing that people point to for ST/SF with Snowing is the thief thing but that bugs me just because Hook is a PIRATE so that argument doesn’t point in only one direction. It’s been awhile since I’ve paid too close of attention to it because I usually read through it and then type a bunch of stuff, hit delete, and try not to throw things. (I’m sure they feel the same way about us).
I get the appeal of both ships and I understand why people want to ship them, but I’ve been trying to look closely at the technical stuff lately and the parallels and the shots they give us (like with Snow and now Charming taking particular notice of Emma interacting with Hook) etc etc and after actually studying the finale instead of just fangirling over it (which I totally did as well, causing me to miss a lot of key moments / shots the first time around for sure) I feel like there is a TON of reason to hope for this ship. What a difference an episode makes.
Last week all I heard was “haha, CaptainSwan is dead” and this week everywhere I look people are coming up with (mostly) rational arguments, pictures / videos to back up those moments that were important and spoke volumes about the viability of a CaptainSwan pairing. I love my fellow CaptainSwan fans!

Another thing to note Neal is gonna be out of the picture for a while so Emma and Hook are gonna spend a lot of time together we thought they got soft on each other during a trip up a beanstalk what’s gonna happen on an adventure to save her son? So exciting

Agreed on so many levels! I really think that CaptainSwan will at least be super close by the time that Neal is back in the picture whether they’ve had any “romantic” interaction or not. She’ll get to spend time with a man who compliments her, who values all of the good qualities in her, her strength, compassion, bravery etc etc and see that she doesn’t have to be that teenage girl anymore. Neal knew and loved the Emma she used to be but Hook sees the woman that she is now and he appreciates her. He’ll have her back and prove that he won’t go anywhere (thank goodness he came back in the finale or I was gonna lose it!) and by the time Neal gets back she’ll have this whole new outlook on stuff.
I’m sure she’ll be torn a bit and there will be this triangle gutpunch for a little bit but eventually she’ll have a heart-to-heart with Neal and it’ll come around to focusing on Henry. I’m half expecting a tantrum thrown by Neal directed mostly at Hook actually now that we’ve seen his past. I bet Neal will come back and be all happy and then come in at just the wrong time and see Emma being happy with Hook and he’ll be seething (cue end of the episode because nobody in SB can have a moment together without somebody watching them and getting angry) and then later on we’ll see Neal confront Hook. It’ll be something about taking his mother and now he’s not gonna take Emma too and then Emma will have to intervene and say that she decides what’s best for her life and that she’s sorry and doesn’t want to hurt Neal but that over time she realized that the portal was closure for her on the hurts from the past but it was just that: the past.
I say whining and tantrum and all that stuff because we’ve seen it from Neal/young Bae as well as Henry. It’s kind of their thing (though I love them most of the time). I can see Neal reverting back to Bae for a bit in the sense that he sees Hook taking away another woman he loves and feels like he’s being abandoned again but ultimately it will be about him being in Henry’s life and getting his family back (as weird and dysfunctional as it now is).
The portal situation reminded me of Lost when Sawyer jumped off the helicopter. He ended up thinking Kate was dead and fell in love with Juliet who he stayed with, even after Kate eventually returned to the island. Things change over time and that was even without spending years/tons of issues like Emma has with Neal. Just a thought that is giving me a mild amount of hope after listening to the screaming of SF fans saying that CS is dead because of the portal thing.
Also to note something I found amusing and relates to the portal thing because that was taken as such a big thing for SF fans:
Neal may still be alive, but Hook is the one who came back for her. Being alive doesn’t automatically mean end up in the pairing you wanted to be in that you screwed up years ago and have issues to work out to get anywhere now just because of a heart-to-heart when she thought you were going to die.
Apparently on tumblr a lot of people were saying that CaptainSwan can’t happen because Neal is still alive so thought I’d share that little nugget because it’s true: Neal is alive yes, but Hook is the only one who has ever come back for her (other than Henry, hmm she has a good thing with men starting their name with the letter H apparently).
She had to track down her parents, and the only reason Neal is in her life AT ALL is because she owed Rumple a favor. He was never going to come back, evidenced by how much he loved / needed Tamara and planned to marry her. (Now, Tamara may have found a way to force the issue with the Greg / Home Office thing, who knows, but the point is that Neal was never going to come back of his own free will / knowing what he was going back to. In fact the only reason he left NYC is because a) Rumple was badly hurt and he does still love his dad and b) HENRY. Henry is key.)

I was literally JUST looking at that Obisgirl! (I’m addicted to tumblr now – so many friendly CaptainSwan people supplying pictures and ideas!)
There’s another one, I need to find it that shows Emma’s nursery and points out that there are 2 pedestals in her room with things mean to watch over her: a knight’s armor and somebody wearing a pirate hat….
That drawing is certainly interesting….Hook always says she'd make an interesting pirate but wow! I bet it was scrapped because they wanted her to be more real world to start off with and then they were having issues getting rights to use the Peter Pan mythology but WOW! She does look good in the coat even in a drawing…what are the odds Hook gives it to her to wear for real sometime??
I may have to reconsider the magazine (I still don’t have one).

So many feelings I can’t stop watching it! It doesn’t have every moment ever but it does have a LOT of the history from Tallahassee and how it’s similar but with a different outcome in And Straight On Til Morning. Absolutely Brilliant!
