With all my CaptainSwan feels and looking around at various videos I was reminded of this quote from last season when MM is scolding Emma in An Apple As Red As Blood. This whole conversation was MM scolding Emma and telling her that she is a better person now than the person that she was and she needs to stop trying to revert back, going so far as to say:
Mary Margaret: “And running is what’s best for him? Or is that what’s best for you? You’re reverting, Emma, into the person you were before you got here; and I thought you’d changed.”
Sure sounds like she doesn’t want Emma to revert back…right?? (Snow currently keeps glaring at Hook but I so want this thrown back in her face when it comes time for Emma to defend her relationship with Hook.)

Another thing worth pointing out in favor of CS, is A&E wanted Hook in there from the word go (it was only rights issues that kept him out)- they considered changing Henry’s father from Bae when pretty much the whole fandom had guessed it was Bae (as soon as Bae portal jumped- most of us had guessed it to be cannon), why would they even consider changing Bae being Henry’s dad, if Emma & Henry’s dad are supposed to be series ‘endgame’- it doesn’t make too much difference (over all), if they aren’t truly series endgame tho now does it 😉

That drawing is certainly interesting….Hook always says she'd make an interesting pirate but wow! I bet it was scrapped because they wanted her to be more real world to start off with and then they were having issues getting rights to use the Peter Pan mythology but WOW! She does look good in the coat even in a drawing…what are the odds Hook gives it to her to wear for real sometime??

So many feelings I can’t stop watching it! It doesn’t have every moment ever but it does have a LOT of the history from Tallahassee and how it’s similar but with a different outcome in And Straight On Til Morning. Absolutely Brilliant!

Also, totally agree with you! I watched PaleyFest last night for the first time in ages and I didn’t even pick on the importance of that line! They DID say they considered changing it all because everybody guessed it but they ultimately wanted to use that because it made sense yada yada but yeah why even consider that if that was their original endgame?
The rights to use Hook thing – we may never know *exactly* what they planned on him for in the beginning so when he was introduced in season 2 I’m not even sure how big of a part they originally intended him to play there either. What I do know is, they saw how awesome he was in the Crocodile and then Tallahassee and something just clicked. That something? The perfectness of CaptainSwan, I’m sure of it!
Also that video is just…so incredible. It shows all of the times they have spent together and how they’ve been in similar situations before, even with each other, and still made the right choices now. Plus it highlighted the importance of that bean again! Hook was playing with it over and over when he was at Rumple’s jail cell before really sticking it to Emma for leaving him behind but now they’ve both done that to each other once and it didn’t work out so well before so I love the significance of him staring at the bean and turning around and handing it to her. So full of possibilities.
WE ARE NOT DELUSIONAL – there is absolutely NO reason to show Hook focusing so much on Emma, or coming back for Emma, or showing that bean as super important time and time again to not have this be legit.
Sure Emma has held onto the past: the key chain, the car, but she also may not have had much money and it does serve as a reminder of how she’s been hurt. The key chain she gave back to him right after he basically ignored the fact that she told him she loved him back then and he was all destiny fate whatever, pinocchio told him to do it yada yada. We never did see his reaction to the car and we don’t know if she ever spent any time with Henry in said car before giving him up for adoption so there could be way more sentimental meaning to it than just Neal – we don’t know yet.
But with Hook…the bean…it’s just perfect. Cause he came back for her when nobody else ever has.
Neal waited around for 11 YEARS to NOT come back for her…Hook was gone for a few minutes and turned his ship around to protect her, her family, the ENTIRE TOWN of people who didn’t like him in a matter of MINUTES. Hook knows that the offering of being part of a family with Emma is worth it and he knows what it’s like to let yourself want something that much and lose it so easily. Neal has lost many of the same things that Hook has along the way and he couldn’t do it and never had any intention OF doing it. I’ve always said that if they wanted to go down the SF route they have some MAJOR work to do to get there but after 2×22 I just don’t see how they can convince anybody that CaptainSwan wasn’t their intention at this point. If they change it now it’ll be such a huge slap in the face to the fans and it’ll go against how the show is set up and the importance of everything and the way they tell us stuff.
Therefore….CAPTAINSWAN IS REAL! It may take time, it may have moments of a triangle for a little bit, but CaptainSwan will be together because Hook fights for what he wants or deserves what he gets…and he’s tired of ending up with nothing.

Oh yes, that is an interesting catch.
Objectively I understand why Snowing haven’t done much about Neal (now we’ve finally had an awesome Hook ep lol 😉 )- aside from being Rumple/Darkones son, he is Henry’s father & they don’t know him from a bar of soap really- I don’t even think Emma has told them EXACTLY what went down between them either- other than they broke up badly & she got hurt. So I could see Charming ‘doing’ something to address it, or telling Neal something along the lines of ‘don’t you dare hurt her like that again & if you think you will, back off now’, if they did find out.For all Hook’s bad actions he hasn’t gone out of his way to hurt her, he has given as good as he gets ie. If you don’t cross him, he wont cross you- Neal has (even if he felt he was justified for doing what he was doing- he allowed her to go to prison for his crime, he allowed her to stay there & he never looked her up afterwards- not to mention all the smirks etc after Tamara turned up & everyone saw Emma still had feelings for him) ;).
I too see all the parallels between CS & Snowing, SF, Rumbelle & RumIah (stuff typing out Rumple/Milah every time these parallels are discussed & I get the feeling it’ll be more often now- they were married & had a kid, they can have a merged name too imo 😉 ) At the end of the day I think Emma has been used/sacrificed enough. Let her have a man who is so bound by honor & love (*cough*Hook & Charming*cough*), she can move on with life & put the past in the past.
After all, what’s the old saying “Women marry men who are similar to their fathers” 😉 Hook is far more Charming than Neal has been shown to be & Emma’s past choices in men (including Neal) has been guy’s who have qualities with which she was then familiar- in other words, behaviors values & attitudes which she learned growing up (For her those involved being not good enough to be loved, being abandoned etc)- many of her core behaviors, attitudes & values are changing, now she has her family back, will the temptation to go back to what she knows still be there- of course, but she is growing & changing from who she was & she need’s someone who wont judge her on her past alone, her actions stemming from it, or on who her family is- so far that’s Hook.

Too much crazy stuff has been going on for Snowing to really address either option. We’ve definitely been shown them eyeing Emma & Hook’s interactions though.
Snow probably has a bad taste in her mouth after seeing the way he behaved when he was in present-day FTL with the girls and was all flirty and innuendos and working with Cora, but she’s also the one who is most likely to give people a 2nd chance and hopefully she’ll get a chance while they’re in NL to really SEE the differences and that the rest was just a facade.
As for Charming…I agree, he has more in common with Hook than with Neal and I think ultimately they’ll get along after awhile. Hook went out of his way to try to stop Charming from getting himself killed, not to mention came back to save the town and offer his ship so I think / hope that Charming will give him a fair shot, though he won’t like it much at first.
The problems come in with who knows what and how Emma has portrayed past events. Snow learned as MM that Emma’s relationship with Henry’s father was anything but good and she also got a panicked phone call from Emma after she found Neal in NYC so I think that Snow will (hopefully) remember all of that and realize that Neal isn’t right for her little girl. As to the extent of what she actually knows – no idea. Emma hinted at so many different types of relationships she’s had in the past and all of them were rotten. (Remember when we thought that Henry’s dad was a married guy?)
I’m hoping that the real story comes out at some point. I have a feeling that Hook will probably try to have a heart-to-heart with Emma and find out what Bae got into since he cared for him as a boy. He’d be curious, especially piecing it together that Neal is the one that hurt Emma, and perhaps Snowing and/or one or the other of them could overhear part of that or something (it’s a small ship for that many people so not tons of room for private conversations + you know Snowing aren’t gonna want to leave Emma alone with Hook for long lol).
Hook & Emma have both been hurt by the same person but have known different sides to him, one as a child and one as an adult. I think learning the other side of things will help them piece his story together and help them understand each other as well. Why Hook started to leave before turning around since he once offered something similar to what Emma did and was refused), why Emma locked Hook up the backstalk even though she wanted to trust him all because of Neal…they’ll get each other even more now. Plus I’m sure he’ll be weighing on their minds because of the fact that Neal JUST went through that portal that morning according to Emma. There are 3 people on that ship who at one point in time or another loved NealFire so we’re bound to hear something at some point. Maybe a little CharmingStiltskin family therapy session is in order while they wait to infiltrate wherever Henry is (somebody will be hot-headed and want to go in, probably Emma, and Hook will hold them back and say to wait for ____ and then they can strike, leaving time to kill and conversations to be had. Just a thought.)

I agree Kat 🙂 & I hope I can get the software sorted out too- think I’ll have to use WMM for the 1st couple, but it’s sooooo sloooooowwwwwwww & limited, not to mention the quality is really poor at the best of times 😐 Maybe after I’ve fixed the truck’s doors & brought my baby her new saddle, I’ll look into SVP more (I just gulp at $400 on software, when a saddle is $800 lol 😉 )
