So I have to do my rewatch today but I have to say that was better than I could have EVER imagined!!!

I seriously LOVED the whole bit with Emma trying to distract past Hook and Killy getting all jealous about it – especially when she was kissing him. The best part was it seemed like Emma was having just a bit too much fun being that flirty and forward with past Hook – like it’s something she has always wanted to be able to do but her walls have never allowed her to do it. And at the same time kind she was entertained by watching Killy get jealous of himself!! It was just such a well played scene. I LOVED it!

Another quick observation – at first I was disappointed that Emma didn’t get her magic back with a TLK kiss but then when I saw how completely and totally proud Killy was that Emma finally “got it” about what “home” really means and how she has been running from it – it was completely worth it and I was GLAD that she didn’t get it back with a TLK. The important thing was that he never left her side – he truly did go the ends of the ends of the earth and time with her to help her figure out who and where her home is, but once again he left the choice of figuring it all out up to her. And it was actually a better twist that it was her PARENTS that she decided were her home since THEY are the one’s who originally caused her to have trust issues and since she has never truly been able to fully embrace them as parents. So she has gotten closure with Neal who told her to find Tallhassee with someone else and she now understands that she really DOES have parents that love her. She has a son who loves her and who also wants to stay in SB. Really, for her to have a truly healthy relationship with Killy all of those things needed to be worked out FIRST. So I liked that it wasn’t until Emma had accepted all of those other relationships in her life that she found out that Killy had traded the JR for her. Because it no longer freaked her that someone would “put her first” – she can now accept that people love her and she is home. She hearing that Killy did that for her just made her recognize that it was yet a sacrifice that he has made for her – but this time it was a BIG one and proves to her that SHE is HIS home as well. He kept up his end of the bargain – when he wins her heart it won’t be because of any trickery, it will be because she wants him. He waited until she figured out where her home was and who the people are that truly love her before he revealed the major sacrifice he made for her. He didn’t want that to influence her in deciding to stay or to put any pressure on her.

Can’t wait to do my rewatch. This will be the happiest hiatus EVER!!!

Chat last night the theory was thst Elsa was the new bad guy… but she was dressed like the Disney version. So maybe not but then who? Hans? Wouldn’t he be dead.

I really liked that while Emma and flirting and then kissing old hook she didn’t seem into it even though that’s her guy… because he wasn’t her version of hook. He wasn’t the pirate version of Killian

That was the best episode ever! I can’t wait to rewatch. I should have taken the day off work! Still processing! So Killian outran the curse on his ship but his pirate crew lost their memories. I think he regretted the whole Eric Ariel thing so much that he decided to go search the realms to find Eric for her. His pirate crew wouldn’t have stuck around for that! That’s my headcanon  and I am sticking to it!

So that was an amaaaazing episode (especially for CS)!!!! I am so glad they did the two episodes in a row because I would not have been able to handle waiting a week in between.

The opening got me immediately with the flashback to Emma’s childhood as teenage(?) Emma watched a young girl presumably get adopted while she was left behind for what I am assuming was the umpteenth time since older kids rarely get adopted. So sad 🙁

Though she didn’t seem to be acting that way at the end of 3A the whole running away to see if she misses it thing I thought worked well. I figured this time because of the false memories she had something to run to, something she did miss even if it was fake, while at the end of 3A she hadn’t experienced a simple life with Henry yet.

Overall I felt like this episode was focused all about Emma and her decisions NOT revolving around Killian. What I mean is that she gave an alternative reason for wanting to leave rather than being afraid to be in a relationship with Killian. She didn’t get her magic back from TLK but rather from internally coming to grips with her feelings regarding her family.. etc. I wasn’t disappointed because that is a much stronger word but just a little bummed/surprised that he wasn’t more of a *direct* cause of things. At the same time though I think overall that this was a much better development of her character and keeps Emma/Killian more independent as individuals than Snowing. He was also obviously right there supporting her, calling her out as needed, etc.

A few quibbles due to my personal headcanon – I was hoping for something like a “why did you follow me?” when Emma realized Killian was in the past with her too. I guess she assumed he got pulled in not by choice. I was also hoping for Killian to openly display missing his ship more to re-emphasize what he gave up for her. I am surprised he didn’t have more “feels” seeing it again.

They really made us wait for that kiss all the way to the end haha (I don’t count Emma kissing past Hook :P). It was glorious though! Sooo happy 🙂 I did notice the cuts they did with the Rumbelle wedding as well and was really happy about that. Despite making us wait all of the little touches, the dancing, etc was just wonderful throughout the episode. Normally he is very much in her personal space but they rarely touch so that was nice to see. She was also so open to him the whole episode… even in the beginning before they dropped into the past portal when she was talking about finding home. Jealous Killian punching himself was awesome! I am okay with no ILY, no TLK, etc. Him giving up his ship was as strong as an demonstrative ILY can be w/o saying it. TLK will be come up next season I am sure.

I hope they don’t fast forward time at all and the jump between S3 and S4 is just like S2 to S3 where it is literally no time passing in between. I want to see CS in their full on honeymoon phase.

So I feel bad for OQ shippers but I think most people were waiting for the other shoe to drop. Emma made the right choice but no surprise that Regina is going to hate her for it. My thing is that the Tinkerbell/Robin/Regina thing happened BEFORE he was with Marian so OQ is destined for one another. This is just going to be drama angst HOPEFULLY just for the sake of drama angst. Personally I really don’t want to see Regina go “bad” again since they took her as far as wielding light magic. I wonder if the past is going to “catch up” and Marian is going to die anyway somehow.

The Rumbelle wedding was sweet but overshadowed by Rumple’s continued lies. I do have to wonder if he is going to get away with it though since he got around Zelena being dead. He may have gotten too greedy by not switching the fake knife with the real knife after he did what he wanted to do. Belle keeps trying to give it back to him so he is voluntarily perpetuating the deceit. I really don’t get it. If I was a Rumbelle fan I would be pretty disappointed overall.

I feel like a jerk saying this but I did not like the baby being named Neal. I see what they were trying to do but it just comes off as awkward. I would have preferred Baelfire if they really wanted to honor him. At least that is a different name than what Emma is used to referring to Neal as. I did like Rumple’s subtle acknowledgement of the honor.

What do you all think of the Elsa reveal? I love Frozen but this seems just like an opportunity to leech some of the popularity from the movie while it is still possible. I will of course wait and give it a chance though. Maybe Elsa freezes Emma’s heart and Killian has to TLK it away 😛 I am assuming her beef is gonna be with Rumple though. Perhaps she gets the (fake) dagger from Belle and that is how she finds out Rumple tricked her.

    Gonna be a loooooong hiatus!

Btw maybe they are out there but I am surprised I haven’t seen a gif of Emma seducing past Hook rubbing his hook with Jen’s quote from an interview about the hook. Hehe

I actually stick to the Concept that Emma didn’t lose her magic, that she lost her belief in her magic…that the flash around the drowning scene was her curing Hook’s curse AND being the flash of a True love…though with Hook and Emma I have always thought it should be called Genuine Love! Emma had to “catch up” to what had already uniquely shown…

She had already saved Hook with a “TLK”. She/they just had to believe it.

shrug. No matter, I loved every second of their adventure. It made perfectly grand sense to fulfill Emma’s wall breaking and finding home beyond it.

Good ( and yummy) things come to those who wait!

I am still not OK… I want another dose of our babies!!!! Can’t wait for Season 4!!!!

    ==

That bit when Emma teases Hook how jealous he was with himself was probably one of my most favorite scenes (Other than our super tender kiss).

Did you see Killian caressing Emma’s face as they kiss, the way Emma did when she gave him his CPR kiss?

    Agreed

Yes – all the other TL Couples have run the gauntlet and get abused. We just knew A&E were going to mess with OQ… but this was mean for sure. tough for all of them. And if Marian does die again – poor Roland. the little mouse has to do that twice. 🙁

    her belief in her magic…

I think the same Bo… she thought it was gone but she didnt believe. Like S1 when she didnt think she even had magic but low and behold once she believed in magic and herself there it was.

    squeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

Yes… there cannot be enough squeeeeees today!!!!

Ok so someone on Facebook did say that Neal now became Luke Skywalker. Since “Neal” is now Emma’s brother…….

    Thoughts?

I work for the family company… NEVER take a day off and work crazy hours. I SOOOOOOOOOO want to be off today to just Squeee the day away with CS. sigh

OK. i have to cut my slacking off… but I too hope there is zero time lapse between S3 and S4. And since Killian is now shipless the pirate garb can go. Since he was all about Emma blending in the EF I would love to see them at the local department store… Hook comes out of the changing room super uncomfortable. And she tells him how she likes it… mirroring the the mini movie. lol

back to work – not that i can concentrate. i keep thinking of… “what did you have to trade. why the jolly roger of course.” awwwwwww.

oh… i need to get one more thing off my chest so I can concentrate today.

I was not crazy about the baby being named Neal announcement either.
Not that I mind him being named for Neal himself. I understand that Snowing wanted to name the baby for someone, my family does that as well.

Its the Neal was a ‘hero’ part that bugs me. He was NOT a hero. this is like the 5th time in the last month with them going on about St Neal. He started this whole mess – domino 1. I truly get why he did it… he was desperate for his father that he finally reconciled with and his long lost love and didnt want to be separated from the son he just found out he had. I totally get it and can see doing the same thing – anything.

But it was step one is all the hurt and pain that was to follow. The memory potion was a good step towards mitigation but the ‘sacrificing’ / split from Rumple was not heroic. Regina, Rumple and Hook all did things in desperation and we called a spade a spade… but for Neal he is bumped to hero status. Not buying it.

so again – name the baby Neal to honor the memory of a man you all loved and miss but not because of his good deeds.
