ParticipantStill having lots of great feels today. I’m going to keep up the SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE for a long while. Loved loved loved the whole episode. A and E really delivered. I’m okay with not getting the TLK, because what we got was way better–Emma didn’t need a magic kiss to tell her she loved Killian, she found that out all on her own. And to think I didn’t believe anything could surpass the 3×5 kiss. The big difference in the kisses, for me anyway was how they ended the kiss in 3A, with them rubbing their foreheads together while staring at each others lips, speechless and unsmiling, and then Emma backing off and walking away. Then you have 3×22, they ended the kiss, touched their foreheads together, smiled, and went back for more. BEST KISS EVER!!! Just as an aside, was anyone else mesmerized by Colin’s spectacular nail beds? I was.
Favourite scene (yes, it’s been rewound and rewatched quite a few times) was Emma below decks kissing Hook while Killian was getting visibly pissed off. It was hilarious!
As for the Neal baby naming thing. I thought they would go that route when Ginny was quoted as saying that the name would be emotional. I thought it was a little crass, as Snowing should have consulted with Henry and Emma first. I took Rumples little nod as an acceptance. Honestly, I was hoping for Charles 🙂 I doubt the name makes a difference in the long run as the baby will probably be hanging out with Ruby, Archie and Marco, only called upon for mass emotional gatherings.

ParticipantHey emmajones…:) My thoughts:
Nah, not even close with Neal being Luke Skywalker about anything. Frankly I think the naming of the baby was perhaps a personal shout out by the writers for the other actors who had such a good relationship with the actor who portrayed Neal. I was OK with it because I am not affected by anything Neal oriented but it was totally uninspired and off the mark as a hero thing. It’s kind of …eh. Maybe the baby will get a nickname in future shows so it isn’t confusing.
And I agree jenven! The *Neal died a hero and saved them all* is a huge overstatement.
As written, Neal’s final act was self-centered, as were most of his actions in Neverland. It was about Henry, not the town or even Emma, there. Unleashing the Dark One this half of the season was selfish. He wanted his dad/son back and he said to basically screw the cost. Not a hero’s stance at all. With him it was always the father-son element. I never saw the Emma connection as more than an afterthought. She didn’t need his blessing to move on, she already had many times. He had too. Tallahassee was equally about her new relationship to Hook than it was to her old relationship with Neal, but it’s that *romantic notion* thing A&E love to serve.
The scene he had with young Emma at the amusement park was actually sweetly touching, though, and it did give her the plot point of how to escape! A nice shout out to their young lust, wandering vagabond, petty theft background 🙂 I’ve never considered them anything but a young stardust fling that went horrifically bad, but for the good of the story (Henry) One tends to always hold on to the emotions of a first love, even one that went sour. And having Emma say she loved Neal is not a lie. Just not all that deep.

ParticipantSo I did my rewatch. I’m sure I will post several times because I have so many thoughts and feels I don’t even know where to begin.
First, I honestly wasn’t bothered by the baby being named Neal – in some ways it was actually sweet. I wasn’t gushing emotional tears over tears over it, but it is common to name babies after family members so it wouldn’t be unheard of for the kid to be named Neal. Yes, he did something in the past that contributed to Emma’s trust issues but I think they really tried to show this season that Emma had forgiven Neal and moved him, and accepted him as a friend and family member since he was Henry’s father. I also think it is interesting since Rumple created the curse to find Bae, Emma was the savior who was the product of True Love who was planned to break the curse so he could leave SB to get Bae, and then after Bae died the very same couple that were brought together to produce the savior produced another child that they named to HONOR Rumple’s son, Bae. It seems like everything came full circle. I thought it was a sweet gesture to Rumple who had lost his child that they honored Bae.
After seeing the PERFECT way they did the kiss at the end of the movie, I feel like I have been putting too much emphasis on needing to see a TLK break a curse. One of the best kisses on the show was when Snow and Charming found each other after the curse was broken and that was NOT a TLK that broke a curse. The CS kiss last night was amazing and I honestly was glad it wasn’t done as a TLK. I LOVED that it was a completely MUTUAL kiss that wasn’t driven by one person needing to save the other. Killy has known FOREVER that he loves Emma and she is finally in a place where she can allow herself (and him) to know that she loves him too – that what’s made the kiss perfect. They BOTH wanted to kiss each other and KEEP kissing each other.
And again, I LOVED that it was Emma realizing that she missed her parents that made her get her magic back – but even more I loved the look of pride on Killy’s face when he pointed out to her that she did it. Killy has ALWAYS been Emma’s biggest cheerleader – he is perfectly comfortable with her being the savior and having magic, he sees his job as encouraging her, motivating her when she needs it, and picking her up when she needs a shoulder to cry on. I do think he had FUN getting to kind of “guide” her through “his” world when they got to the EF but quickly pointed that she is a natural there, after calling her “your majesty” since she truly is a princess (“his princess” – swoon). He doesn’t even get bothered when he wants to be able to “rescue” her and she makes the comment about the only person who saves her is herself, because he knows it’s true. He knows his job is to support and love her – that’s what she need. Although I do think he recognized she would have been greatly affected when she learned that he sacrificed his ship for her which is why he did NOT want her to know – being a man of good form I think he was afraid her knowing that BEFORE she decided to stay would have swayed her decision and he would have viewed that as trickery which he promised he would not use to win her heart. He told her, he would win it because she wanted him. By that point, I think he knew pretty clearly that she loved him – she had been so open with him in the EF, flirted with him, quietly accepted his comparisons between the two of them and her parents, etc. But he still let her make the first move – she leaned forward to kiss him first but he leaned in to meet her for the kiss.
I am seriously dying of happiness!!!!

ParticipantHey guys i hope you are all well but i doubt you would feel bad after last episode 😀 I just watched the episode and it was AWESOME! Loved every second of it espically the last moments when Belle and Rumple where telling their wedding vows while they were also giving the hints about who OQ,RB,CS,Snowing were before love, how loved changed them. I actually forgot how much i loved the story of how Snowing met, and i was so happy to see Red&Snow friendship again even though it was a breef moment. I enjoyed every kiss, every smile, every gesture of CaptainSwan and i really think it is mainly because Colin’s amazing acting. I didn’t get dissapointed that she didn’t win her magic with TLK it was something more important bring it back the love she hold for her family and it wouldnt happen without Hook’s guidance, support and love which is to me is something stronger than just a kiss. While my CS heart is beating with joy my OQ heart stopped i knew the get together very easy and i knew that a drama is on the way but why Marian for godsake why her? 🙁 I only hope that Regina won’t go back to her Evilside to solve the problem she come so far this season i was so happy ( she and Hook is my fave characters) and it would break my heart if she became Evil again but i totally understand her anger against Emma when i saw her crying the last moment it really made me upset. I loved Neal and Emma scene too ( which was weird i loved Neal but i never enjoyed Swanfire cause it was boring) but i wasn’t impressed with little royal’s name but didn’t care much. For the last scene i was hoping for Camelot next season cause i think it was too soon for Frozen. Still i have high hopes , crossed my fingers for a lesbian Elsa ( i think she would be perfect with Mulan ) and i don’t believe she is the next villian the only thing i don’t understand that how the hell Frozen is related to Will ?

ParticipantThis episode was just incredible, overall. I think I kept my expectations in check, and as a result, the finale totally delivered. It was funny, I was in chat and around the 30min mark or so, I said something to the effect of ‘this is really great, so far it’s not anything we didn’t expect, but -” and then BAM! they are smacking us with the feels and the twists every few seconds! I thought they did an excellent job of releasing just enough promo material (and letting the paps ‘spy’) to make us intrigued but kept amazing control over so much to make the entire episode pay off.
One of my favorite little snippets was in the diner after the kiss, when Hook and Emma are sitting with Marian and Regina walks in. Up to this point, Emma and Hook have have had conversations a’plenty with body language but very rarely touch, as previously mentioned. But after Emma goes up and talks to Regina and then fetches Marian, Emma puts her hand on Killian’s arm. It’s little, but it’s also an incredibly personal thing to do – once that last little wall broke down, Emma is all in. And proving it not only in the big, outward ways, but in the personal, ‘just between us’ ways already.
I, too, was happy with how they brought Emma’s magic back in the picture. Initially I did want it to be TLK that brought it back, but as mentioned, the way Killian just looked at her, so incredibly proud of how far she’s come and how happy he was that she finally accepted her home and family made it all worthwhile. I had wanted Emma and Killian to be two complete and separate people before entering into their romantic relationship, and I think they did achieve that. I didn’t want Snowing 2.0, because, frankly, I find that relationship to be completely co-dependent and it belittles Charming and especially Snow’s individual strengths by rendering them essentially useless without the other. But Emma learned what home meant, on her own but supported by Killian. He made her look at her choices even when she didn’t want to, but allowed her to MAKE HER CHOICES. I think even if Emma hasn’t been able to learn where ‘home’ is, and actually left for New York, he would have supported her decision, because it was her choice, and he understands how incredibly important that is, not only to Emma, but to your partner, whoever they may be. Killian first began to change because of Emma, yes, but along the way, the change became not about Emma, but about discovering who he was and, more importantly, who he wanted to be. He made that decision, and Emma supported him, beause that’s what they do. Their foundation is far stronger than any of the other TL couples, in my opinion, for these reasons.
I loved the scenes with Hook/Killian, not only because it was HILARIOUS, but also because I thought it did an excellent job of showing the ‘old’ Hook and the ‘new’ Killian – the naive naval officer and the jaded pirate combined into one, whole person. I look forward to seeing this new Killy – people argue he’s become ‘soft,’ but I don’t agree. I think we’ll see an extremely fierce Killian in S4 – he has a home, he has a family and loved ones (because I think Henry is going to give his stamp of approval!), and he is NOT going to let anyone even think about hurting his loved ones. So yes, he may not see Rumple as an adversary, but there will be adversaries. He fought for the person who he was learning to love to the death, and while doing so, didn’t even believe she returned his feelings. Knowing she does — and finally being welcomed and completely part of this new family — he now has SO MUCH MORE to live for and defend, and I think he’ll approach that as passionately has he has approached every challenge – and person – as he has to date, and even moreso.
I think what I loved the most about the episode, was how COMFORTABLE Emma and Killian were with each other. Even after Emma told Killian she was leaving last week, she kept her walls down with him. She could have totally ignored what he was telling her on the bench, but she didn’t. She listened. And she continued to listen, to let Killian take the lead. How often does the Savior do that? Not often (maybe when Daddy tells her to/to not do something!). And when she needed to, she let herself fall apart in front of him, and let him take care of her…while still retaining her own identity (“the only one who saves me is me!!” Awesome line).
Ok that’s my day-after babble. Did I mention I LOVED THIS EPISODE?!?!

ParticipantOh, and the naming the baby Neal thing – I wasn’t surprised and it didn’t bother me. I ranted about it a little in the thread but long story short, I pointed out that I thought it was the writers paying homage to the fans who loved the character (and “so shut it” might have been implied…).
Yay! Love the kiss pics! Everyone in chat’s yelling at me to replace my avatar and I found it!!!! Some may not yell about my avatar again….hahaha
