Stranger than takes Emma to the wishing well to drink water with magic to FIND WHAT IS LOST…. thus setting her up to find the book and maybe try and get Emma to believe in magic. There seems to be some of the age old conflict between the two that have developed in people over time…. those who believe in faith / magic / powers beyond what we can see and those who believe in logic, science and only what can be discovered by our senses.

    That is very interesting.

Here’s another thought: What is lost to Emma? Her parents. What if the water helps her realize what she has always since meeting Henry, that MM & David are her parents. They were never lost to her but she needed something to make her see that they were in front of her the whole time.

Here is the original link to what I read about AUGUST and I thought it was interesting.

Update: Here is the google link to August the friend and co worker of the Brothers Grimm

obisgirl …. That is a great observation … Emma lost her parents… maybe that is what she needs to find… I just bet it takes forever for her to do it.

fyi… I did not mean to imply that I thought August was the apprentice, research assistant to the Grimm brothers and he somehow became keeper of the book.

I think the writers of OUAT are honoring this man who got over looked by history.

Plus it is a great red herring…. sending us off to bark up the wrong tree…

I must be tired I can not think of any more cliches.

Emma?? Graham remembered who he was….but Emma still doesn’t know who she is. Seems only Mr.Gold knows exactly who Regina is….well….and the Mirror guy.

Well Emma knows who she is, but she doesn’t believe it.

I did some searching and found this link about how to Repair an Old Classic Book. If you scroll down to the bottom, it is mentioned what tools you would need to do this.

I don’t know if any of the tools mentioned match what the Stranger used (I need to look for a screencap).
