I don’t think Rumple aka The Dark One could travel to other worlds.
If he could, why would he hire Jefferson to do it?
The Blue Fairy told Bae “What ails your father is specific to ‘our realm’ (EF).”[adrotate group="5"]May 8, 2013 at 2:32 pm #192198TheGoldenKeyParticipantBack on page 4 I jokingly suggested that maybe it’s Rumple’s shadow. Now, I’m seriously wondering about that.
1) He really got sucked into that vortex too and really had to dig in with his dagger to stop from going. Maybe a part of him did go.
2) Perhaps from having used the dagger, while digging into the hole, it released some type of magic.
3) If it were a part of Rumple, why wouldn’t he be collecting lost boys? He’s be searching for his lost boy and that’s why when Bae said his name the shadow started coming around.
Maybe Rumple in a round about way is responsible for creating Neverland and lost boys. They did say that something comparable to Red being the Wolf and Rumple being the crocodile was coming.

The Blue Fairy told Bae “What ails your father is specific to ‘our realm’ (EF).”The theory of Rumple traveling to NL is posted in this thread. But it certainly is possible for Rumple to travel to other lands; he traveled to A Land Without Color (Dr. Frankenstein’s world) in In the Name of the Brother. It’s possible that Rumple paid to use Jefferson’s hat to travel to Victor’s realm, because he had no beans or other portals to do so. Also, even in Victor’s world, Rumple still was the Dark One and could do magic. As long as the realm has magic, Jefferson’s hat can travel there. The only reason Rumple couldn’t use Jefferson’s hat to travel to our land is because it lacked magic.

Belle basically proposed a very similar theory here.

I was actually responding to something in this thread, but thanks for the heads up ๐

True. Good point.
The only reason Rumple couldn’t use Jefferson’s hat to travel to our land is because it lacked magic.
Yes, I remeber that. Otherwise there would’ve been no need for the Dark Curse. Rumple would’ve been able to just ‘jump’ to our world to get Bae ๐

Yes, I’m aware of Belle’s theory where she wonders if Rumple perhaps had the whole island orchestrated to find Bae as I’ve posted over on that thread as well when I mentioned my theory about Bae saying his name to Wendy was the trigger that summoned the shadow to the Darling’s house. ๐
However, what I was suggesting here Slurpeez, is not the same thing as what she or anyone else has suggested over there.
I am saying that perhaps a little bit of Rumple’s subconscious mind or heart, came through the vortex along with Bae and is now appearing as the this shadow. Yes, that’s right. What if Rumple, or a wee bit of him, is the shadow. The childlike part of Rumple. That would explain the shadow always searching for lost boys as Rumple always said his son was lost to him.
Or, what if a little bit of dark magic escaped through THE DAGGER when he used it to dig into the dirt and escape the vortex. Same end results only a darker shadow with more sinister type of disposition.
Again, nothing like this was posted over there and I find this more suitable to the subject of this thread. ๐

May 8, 2013 at 3:51 pm #192211RumplesGirlKeymasterI think that’s interesting TGK, but I have to wonder if we should pile on another character to Rumple. Just from a story telling standpoint, he’s already so many things: Rumple, Ella’s FGM, The Beast, the Crocodile.
But I do like this:
Or, what if a little bit of dark magic escaped through THE DAGGER when he used it to dig into the dirt and escape the vortex. Same end results only a darker shadow with more sinister type of disposition.
What if it’s not Rumple’s “self” but rather the Dark One’s “self.” Rumple was never as Dark as he could possibly be as the Dark One: always preferring to make deals instead of just outright killing. Maybe this could explain why he maintained a little bit of good in him, he wasn’t fully the Dark One.

The Dark One’s shadow? OH MY! ๐ฎ ๐ฏ Gosh, but I am having so much fun with this shadow! ๐
I have to wonder, with all the theorizing and discussions we do, is this what’s it’s like to be in a OUAT ‘s writer’s brain storming room? I think I’d love that king of job! ๐ ๐

I’d give my right hand to be a fly on the wall during conversations about S3!
Tamara knows about the Dark One, she names Rumple the Dark One to Hook in The Evil Queen. And if the got that information from the Home Office, maybe they have plans for the Dark One’s Shadow.

H and K said that the Shadow followed Bae and we know that at the time Bae went through the bean hole, Hook and Milah were still in FTL because Hook did not return to NL until after Milah died, where he met Bae which may or may not have been about 150 years after Milah died if Bae was falling for a longer time in reality than what he perceived.
ugh. We really need to nail down how time is working.
