ParticipantSo hubby and I finally watched the finale and Oh My Googly Moogly they better have a third season. The 2nd season was really good from start to finish and I absolutely loved the ending. I have always loved the concept of Timeless it reminds me of quantum leap which I loved as a kid. Also love the fact that the show actually listened to fans like me and gave us some quality Garcia and Lucy. I have actually thought they had really good chemistry from the very beginning and always preferred them to Lucy and Wyatt. Wyatt came off as incredibly jealous, controlling, judgmental, and a person who wants his cake and to eat it too. Sorry Wyatt life does not work that way, and oh my gosh what kind of decision was it for him to say he loved her, right after his “wife” announced she was pregnant, stole a life boat, and revealed she was Rittenhouse. It came off as Wyatt saying well I can’t have Jessica so now I want you. Anyway hopefully this show gets renewed as it is really fun.

ParticipantWhat was your favorite all time episode of OUAT? (feel free to pick more than one if you really can’t decide between a few)
Skin Deep without a second thought, 2nd place would probably be Manhattan
What was your least favorite all time episode of OUAT? (feel free to pick more than one if you really can’t decide between a few)
Boy this one is hard, I hated Street Rats, Flower Child, Tiny (not as much as I used to but still hated it when I saw it)
What was your favorite and least favorite season of OUAT?
Favorite: Season 1 of course Least Favorite: Season 6A just because of all the horrible Rumbelle crap they wrote.
Who was your favorite and least favorite MAJOR (meaning, regular cast member) character?
Favorite: Rumple Least Favorite: Hook followed closely by post season 4 Emma
Who was your favorite and least favorite MINOR (meaning only made brief appearances, either a single episode or more but never a regular cast member)?
Favorite: Archie. I always loved Archie and thought they could do so much more with his story. He was just an all around good guy.
Least Favorite: Alladin, that whole story arc was horrible and boring.
What do you think OUAT’s biggest success story was? And what was their biggest mistake?
Success Story: Regina. Regina was the number 1 villain from episode 1 on and by the end of the show she was a great hero who preached about not only redemption but hope. The Regina redemption arc was long, difficult, and real and that is what each and every villain should have had to go through to get redeemed. The writers wrote that character perfectly and even when I thought she was a little too judgmental and playing way too much with the “hero club” it was still believable that a person who was a villain and was now considered a hero would go along with their ideas and thoughts even if they were judgmental and one sided.
Biggest Mistake: There were lots of them, but #1 mistake was killing off Bae/Neal. I would have been okay with it if they had done it for a good reason but lets face it they just did not want a love triangle and this was the easiest way to get rid of it. They then compounded the problem with trying to act like he did not exist most of the time and that his death did not effect those around him. Rumple’s quest for power in season 4 and his turn towards darkness would have been much more believable if they connected it to Bae’s death. The struggle of Henry and Rumple’s relationship could have been played out and talked about and that would have made sense. The struggle of Henry to like Hook could have been played out better by just admitting that Henry’s father was Neal and that Henry missed him. I could go on and on about what the writers could have done, but the fact is they took the easiest way out of a mess that they created and then acted like the character never existed except for a brief mention every now and then.
Would you recommend OUAT to someone?
I still would. I loved the show and still love to rewatch the first three seasons back to back and then certain episodes. I would love to rewatch it again with someone who had not seen it and relive all the dynamics.
What is the legacy of OUAT?
I don’t know, I am really not into that kind of stuff. For me personally I think it brought me into fanfic which I love and has carried me into all kinds of other fanfics. I loved this forum and talking about a tv show but I am unsure if I will ever find a show that I will want to talk about as much as I do this one.
Grade the entire series!
Well considering I am still a little obsessed with the show I would have to give it a 90%. I would give season 1-3 a 100% and 4-7 an 80%.

Participantbibliophile wrote: It spoils what could have been a beautiful moment between him and Regina when they never had a positive relationship before he died I get where you’re coming from with most of your Rumple post. Resetting him has always been their default position (sorta like with Emma). But I don’t agree with the quote above. They had a complicated relationship but it’s also been a father/daughter, student/mentor kind. They’ve used each other, threatened each other, but also helped and supported each other and think of each other as family even if it’s like, super complicated.
I actually agree with bibliophile although I did love that scene. Regina and Rumple had that relationship through season 3 but after that Regina was all about being in the hero club and did not have Rumple’s back once. She even went along in season 5 and stated that if Rumple dies then that was a chance they were going to have to take. Rumple tried to reach out to Regina several times and give her advice and she totally rejected him. Even in season 7 she made a throw away statement in the EF2 that he was just being Rumple. After Bae’s death Rumple was completely isolated from everyone but Belle and don’t get me wrong he was being a stinker most of the time, but even when he wasn’t Regina really did not have much if any relationship with him. I think they tried to show some relationship in HH but we did not see enough of it to satisfy. I am glad that deep down Regina did have some friendship/love for Rumple but really it did feel a little odd because we have not seen that kind of relationship in so long.

ParticipantI spent the day re watching SEASON ONE ….
So did I . I will have to think long and hard on this one.
AKA
ParticipantI liked that he sacrificed his heart to Nook because you do the right thing not for reward but because it is the right thing to do. I don’t understand why he might never get back to Belle because he is mortal I thought that was the whole point? I loved that he got back to Belle and I thought it was well done, I HATE that they did not even mention Bae/Neal. Even if they could not get an actor they could of had Belle simply say “Come on Rumple, your son is waiting” I was so completely disappointed that this did not happen and it really kind of ruined part of the finale for me.

ParticipantI actually liked the piece of everyone’s heart that brings everyone together instead of the crushing the heart you love the most which tears everyone apart. I thought it had nice symmetry and actually made sense. I was fine with Regina being crowned and I love her speech but it really is the exact same ending she got in season 6. I loved the scene where Grumpy and two of the other dwarves meet Regina at her office and are putting Regina Mills Queen of Storybrooke on her door. I think I actually got more emotional over that than this.
Nope no one will ever find SB but I hope that the people in SB can come and go as they want. They all live Happily Ever After which is how all fairy tales should end.

ParticipantAfter all these years and after the last 12 episodes I thought I would be relieved it was over but I just feel sad. No matter what the show had become, no mater what I disagreed with or how much I hated the writers at times I will miss Once Upon a Time. I give this a 8.5/10. All in all looking back to this season I wish they had ended it last season that finale was much better than this one.
Liked:
The opening scene with Alice/Robyn versus the town was hilarious and a great start for the finale. I will miss Grumpy, Pongo, Granny, and Archie they were some of my favorite characters and I always wished they had done more with their stories
Regina convincing Henry that he was loved and that she loved him no matter what he did in any version (that is unconditional love guys and it is how a mom should be!)
Rumple sacrificing himself yet again to save everyone and especially Nook. His you do the right thing because it is right and not because of the reward was so incredibly powerful. Although I don’t understand why everyone thought that if he sacrificed himself to save Nook and everyone else that meant he wouldn’t find Belle?
Regina being crowned queen of all the lands, Regina deserves a happy ending of all the villains she was the one with the biggest and most earned redemption.
Regina and Robin scene was sweet and I think a good wink at Outlaw Queen Fans
Mixed/Disliked:
GIVE ME A THROW AWAY LINE!!!!!!!! You can’t get the actor or any of the actors that played Bae, fine have Belle say come on your son is waiting for you. I am SO DISAPPOINTED that they did not do this. The entire story started with Rumple and Bae it should have ended there!
I totally did not understand why Rumple thought he was not going to get to Belle (AND BAE) now that he was mortal? Did Wish Rumple do something that would prevent that? Also I hate how they just poofed answers to huge questions. Why is Rumple mortal because Wish Rumple somehow made that happen?
AKA
ParticipantAgreed, Rumple’s whole story began with Bae and should end with him.
AKA
ParticipantI wouldn’t be surprised if we have our Rumple telling (through helpful flashbacks!) Dark One Rumple about his redemption with both Belle and Bae.
Oh My Gosh, I would love this!!!!!
