ParticipantI think we all know that the end game will be Regina accepting her “dark” side and reintegrating herself. I am Okay with the you must kill the actual person to kill the doppelganger, I think it makes sense. The doppelganger is not the actual person but just a part of the person. I kind of see it like a whole in the heart that has manifested itself into a person. A small part of the soul. If you try and kill that part of the soul the actual person won’t die but if you kill the person that part of the soul would die with it?

ParticipantThis is probably going to be the unpopular view but I am going to defend Rumple here. Should he have locked her on the boat and taken away her free will, Nope, but he also knows Belle pretty well. She is impulsive, naive, and has a major hero complex issue so can I understand why he did it. We like to say that Belle has not just herself to think about now, but so does Rumple. That is his unborn child she is caring and he was doing what he thought was best to protect Belle and the baby from Hyde. Hyde and EQ told him directly that they were going after Belle so Rumple did what he thought would protect both of them.
As for the ending speech I think Rumple is saying that the child will be in danger because of Rumple and that Belle is going to have to accept Rumple’s help in protecting that child. If Belle does not want his help once that child is born, fine but until then it is Rumple’s responsibility to protect both Belle and that baby. He has every right to be angry because to tell you the truth Belle has been incredibly unreasonable and angry with him since she found out she was pregnant. She is the one who put herself in a sleeping curse, she is the one who is refusing to even entertain the thought that Rumple might want to be part of this child’s life, and she is the one who is listening to some dream baby about what is right and wrong. All of this is not to mention that she is flip flopping the poor man every other day, I don’t want you, I do want you back and forth. I can’t believe he didn’t react in anger before this. I am not excusing Rumple in all of this, but we tend to look at this relationship in black and white. Rumple is wrong and Belle is right. Belle is not always right and all the problems are not all Rumple

ParticipantMy opinion of Ella has always been that she is a “princess” selfish, petty, and self centered. This episode did not change my opinion at all, I still don’t like her. I liked that point of view twist of the evil step sister being in love with the footman. There are a lot of stories (especially with Cinderella) like this where we get to the other side of the story and I always like to hear them. The step mother was very typical of Disney and Once. They both need to work on how they represent step parents as always evil.

ParticipantOverall a pretty entertaining episode. I give it a 7.5/10
Liked:
Snow and Charming. I liked that Snow wanted a normal life where she is a teacher and he is a sheriff and they are parents. I loved the conversation between them about what is important versus what is “epic” and I love the fact that Charming recognizes him being a father was the most important job to do.
I liked Rumple sending Belle a poem that she can play for his child. I thought it was sweet and very well done. I like that Belle was at least willing to listen to the tape to find out what was on it. A step forward for Belle.
I liked the back story of the step sister even if we are not invested in her story I still liked it.
I continue to like Mr. Hyde and continue to be intrigued by him. He kind of reminds me of Rumple in the fact that he is a opportunist.
Lana as the Evil Queen is really fun to watch
Archie’s advice of living each day for its full worth. Yet again Charming tells Emma this exact same thing in Season 2 but maybe she is just like every other child and needs to hear it from someone else.
Zelena telling Regina that instead of blaming her maybe she should look at herself and the fact that she ripped herself in two. YES, Regina the evil queen does not need to be killed she needs to be accepted as part of you. We may not like every part of our past, but our past makes us who we are today and accepting and forgiving ourselves for our past mistakes helps us grow as people.
Disliked:
Where did Emma get Ashley’s shoe and why does she have it? I assuming that was a locator spell?
Why did we need a completely paralleled scene of Hook playing swords with Henry. Guess what writers we know that scene which was in Season 2 with Neal playing swords with Henry. Badly Done
So was there a third step-sister, Anastasia? I am going to assume that there was and Anastasia has already run off to Wonderland with Will.
I have never liked Ashley as a character and I continue not to. I have always found her selfish, inconsiderate, and a “princess” This episode did not change my opinion of her at all. What exactly did she do to help out this episode? All I saw happen is she put her self in danger (just like I would say with Snow, Emma, Regina, Robin, David, etc. you are a parent first and you can’t be that if you are dead) and then Emma swooped in used magic that did not come with any price (what happened to ALL magic comes with a price) and healed her.

ParticipantI think it will be Rumple. It will have something to do with putting the pieces in place so that David will have to pretend to be King George’s son. Either that or David’s dad is not dead and is in the land of untold stories and is now in Storybrook

ParticipantI thought the episode was pretty good I would give it a 8 out of 10.
Liked:
Zelena, I believe is being true to her character. She is going to be fighting the urge to be partners with the Evil Queen because she needs to be accepted and loved and when it comes down to it will by loyal to which ever sister is willing to be part of her family. I think at her core she is insecure and lonely.
The fight scene between the Count and Snow and Charming was awesome. It is great to see them actually doing something productive in an episode.
Hook, Yes it is about time to apologize without any sarcasm. I was pleasantly surprised and happy.
Emma continuing to see Dr. Hopper, I think that is mature on her part, and the more we see of Hopper the happier I am.
I loved Regina’s opening speech at the diner to all the untold characters.
While I did not like that Regina killed the Count, I thought it was exciting and a little surprising.
I liked that yet again Rumple is at the center of all the stories, had the key to the land of untold stories.
Yet again, loved the flashback scenes with Regina and Rumple they do make the show.
Disliked:
Regina and Rumple sexual attraction? Never saw it, don’t like it. Almost feels completely WRONG. I have always loved any scene Rumple and Regina have been in because they play off each other so well. It has NEVER had sexual overtones and I would go even further and say that it has always been more of a father/daughter relationship. Why change it now, oh that’s right makes Rumple look even more sleazy than he already is.
Okay I guess I have to accept it, A and E have made Rumple the Big Bad. So not only did Rumple poison an innocent girl he yet again sold out the entire town except Belle. He did not even try and save Henry this time (although, would the Evil Queen hurt Henry?) I will not be surprised if he is the one who ended up killing Charming’s dad. I am actually starting to doubt he can be redeemed. This just breaks my heart because I fell in love with Rumple in season 1 and 2 because he was so completely redeemable. He was a man who was just trying to get back to his son anyway her could. He was morally ambiguous but not altogether evil. They have made a very complex character rather flat and that is just sad.

ParticipantYup exactly. It works until he kisses her to wake her up. So since that happens, he must be her ACTUAL SON. But then, why is he older. I get why he’s in her dream….bc he’s a part of her so ok, fine. But why is he older?
And how does he know that he will destroy this family like he did the last? Why is he so resentful of this father? The only logical conclusion would be that he is actually Morpheus but Belle states that he was disguising himself as him to “test” her. It just does not make any sense.
AKA
ParticipantIf he has Belle’s memories he should have the good stuff too, which I find problematic. Rumple has done a lot of bad in recent seasons, no doubt. But belle has also witnessed his heroism, his sacrifices, his grief after losing Bae and the lengths he went to find Bae again. There are nuances in Rumple that young fetus is neglecting.
Oh abolsutely he is. He clearly has an opinion on this. Again, he’s supposed to be a child and this is Belle’s dream so isn’t she the one thinking about him and that’s what he looks like in HER mind? So is that also what she would think her son’s opinion would be about Rumple? Basically is this all just in Belle’s mind or was that ACTUALLY their son with actual opinions and motives? If that is actually their son, like in body and soul and not just her interpretation via her dream world, then the child must have some Seer capabilities.
I just re watched that scene and I came to the same conclusion. I thought this must be Belle’s interpretation of everything and she has dreamed up this son who thinks that Rumple will destroy this family like he did the last one. So, that would make this scene all about Belle’s insecurities and fears of the future. Here is the problem with that, how did she get TLK then? If this is all Belle’s dream and the son is a manifestation of that dream he should not been able to wake her up because he is not real. The whole scene is very problematic and full of holes.

ParticipantThey are not going to kill off Emma.
I don’t think for a single second that Emma will really die. And I think her “villain” is really herself, with her walls, standing in the way of her own happy ending.
I think this is an interesting idea, because no matter how many times they say Emma does not have walls and that Hook and her family took down her walls, she obviously had them up this episode. I think the bigger question is what this says about Hook and Emma’s relationship. She obviously does not trust him enough to let him in at all. She hid the shaking of the hands, she hid the visions, she even refused to let him help her with the bird. How did Hook handle all this, he got angry and went drinking at a bar. No discussions, no hey I know something is wrong and I am going to make you talk about it, just Okay whatever I will go my way and you go yours.

ParticipantThey wanted to wake Belle but not repair the RumBelle relationship by having Rumple administer TLK.
This is something that continues to irk me. What’s so wrong with having Rumple administer a successful TLK? They can still be True Loves even if their relationship is on the rocks and there’s hurt on both sides. They even keep saying “I know you love me!” or something along those lines. It can still be true love but and not be perfect or what either party wants anymore. Have Rumple be the one to wake Belle with TLK but then have Belle say that she still doesn’t want a relationship anymore. Unless the show is suggesting that True Love must be perfect in order to be True Love.
THIS, the show has proven that a relationship does not have to be stable, long lasting, or even healthy for TLK so why not have Rumple TLK Belle?
As for Morpheus, I actually thought maybe it was actually the baby. I mean we still don’t know much about Belle or Rumple’s moms so maybe they were Gods and that is how the Rumbelle Baby became a God? I thought it was time travel adult version of the baby. Even so, how does Rumple even proceed from here and why in the world would Belle even believe that it would work out? So if this baby is an adult and thinks his father will constantly lie and deceive his mother why would she ever trust Rumple again, and Rumple obviously wants a relationship with his son, so what can he do to make him not hate him. I hope we get some kind of explanation for all of this, because if not the show is basically saying there is no hope for Rumbelle or for Rumple and his son. If a show is based on hope and family this certainly goes against everything the show stands for.
