That always struck me as odd too- Surely at least Henry himself has noticed that he ages but none of the other kids do!
[adrotate group="5"]angiebelleParticipantThe synopsis indicates that sending Pinocchio through the wardrobe was not some last minute idea by Gepetto but a plan made by Blue Fairy and all those involved- likely including Snow White and Charming. It says it is a plan agreed to by Gepetto which means he didn’t come up with it. The idea is to find a way to protect Emma. Just sending a baby by herself in an unknown world would be dangerous. I’m sure there is a good reason why they could only send a child. It makes perfect sense to me, and I can’t wait to see how it plays out. Trust the writers!
angiebelleParticipantHmm…
Take a look at this spoiler episode synopsis I found-
http://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/once-upon-a-time-2012/episode-20-season-1/the-stranger/319533I am thinking my theory was spot on.
Why would Henry’s father know anything about the book being real? I got the impression that Henry’s father was not a good person. Emma didn’t want to tell the truth about him because she was ashamed and didn’t want Henry to be as well….that’s why she made up the story.
angiebelleParticipantBut the thing is Pinocchio is the *only* character with a logical explanation for how he might have ended up in our world, even if it means there were loopholes. The other theories have characters who haven’t been presented with any option at all.

There are many reasons why it might have worked that way- it doesn’t have to be a selfish one. We don’t know what happened yet. I like the idea of August being Pinocchio. It connects him to Storybrooke. It gives him a reason to care about it’s people and about getting Emma to believe.
I don’t know…I could be wrong, but none of the other ideas make any sense to me….the only other potentially right one is that he is Bae, but too much time has passed for that unless he was some how stuck in time not aging at some point long before the curse and then traveled to our world….which I suppose could have been caused by the Blue Fairy- not totally implausible, but unlikely. And he was no where near the events of the pilot episode from what we can tell. I also don’t see much of a connection between Bae and August as characters, although we’ve only had a brief look at Bae.

Maybe Gepetto knew exactly what he was doing and wanted to give Pinocchio his best chance too. Maybe Pinocchio was sent through to make sure the baby made it to safety. After all- they didn’t know what was on the other side.

What are examples of previous times when they did mislead us? I can’t think of any off the top of my head.
Depends on how sharp you are. Me, not so much. I totally missed the Sheriff as the Huntsman until that episode, Red as the wolf until about 10 seconds before the reveal. Meaning I didn’t notice anything in the previous episodes.
Well true- they did make it look as if Peter was the wolf rather than Red herself…but that was within the episode. I’m talking about an example in which they deliberately left a trail of hints over several episodes that turned out to be completely wrong.
angiebelleParticipantI can’t wait to see what happens when characters start to remember! It’s going to be very awkward for Emma if Snow and Charming believe before she does and start claiming she is their daughter. It will be awkward even if she *does* believe! Can you imagine having to accept that someone who appears to be the same age as you is your mother or daughter?
angiebelleParticipantI completely forgot about the letter! Maybe Snow White *did* eventually learn the whole story….unless she is referring to her own misinterpretation of what really happened.
