GaultheriaParticipant
Hyde was stabbed in the heart a little earlier, so maybe that’s part of it. However, characters on OUAT tend not to be wrong about what they say aloud even when they jump to conclusions, so Regina is probably speaking for the writers.

GaultheriaParticipantI don’t think we’ve ever before seen outright hatred from either of them, directed at the other. Belle’s been frustrated and disappointed with him, and Rumpel has lashed out in frustration over his own confused feelings, but even though I’ve felt for a while that the relationship is past the point where it could work, it’s always seemed that they had genuine affection and concern for each other’s wellbeing. That confrontation on the dock tonight was the first time they’ve seemed like enemies rather than tragic lovers.
(The bit about forcing Belle to remain on the ship, well, someone on the writing staff has a dark sense of humour.)

GaultheriaParticipantI don’t remember that film well. Do you mean in the sense that main antagonist is possibly the main protagonist’s biological progenitor and the story will become about ensuring that the main character doesn’t cancel herself out of existence?
Not exactly. I’m wondering if Flynn is Lucy’s son from an alternate future, and that the big changes he’s making to history are just incidental to his real goal of getting his parents together.
I think Flynn-as-Marty would be too derivative to take completely seriously, but the show has a lighter side that I wasn’t expecting from the previews, so I think it could manage an old plot done differently.

GaultheriaParticipantit both seems to work with familiar stereotypes, and yet subvert them in really interesting and unexpected ways.
I’m getting the sense that it’s exactly the plot of Back to the Future, only this time Marty is the bad guy.

GaultheriaParticipantWhy did she suddenly change her mind after a year of wanting something more from James?
The in-show reason is probably Pod Guy. As far as Kara knows, her only other same-species “opportunity” is her cousin, and even though the Kryptonian genome is probably free of human-style inbreeding disorders, she still remembers changing little Kal’s diapers. Besides, the way Kara smashes her alarm clock in the morning, it’s just safer for Jimmy this way.

GaultheriaParticipantwhy Cindy didn’t believe in magic given she lives in a MAGICAL WORLD!!!!! Its not even like magic is a secret, everyone knows its real, so why would she say that?
That’s just it, everyone knows it’s real, so it’s not magic to them, it’s just neat stuff that some people can do. Like, if every village has an alchemist who can transmute lead into gold, people will know that it’s possible even if they don’t know how to do it themselves. But then there’s stuff like dimension-hopping or whatever, and maybe it’s even widely rumoured, but nobody knows anyone who can actually do it; now that’s magic.

GaultheriaParticipantI don’t mind the interpretation except in the fact that the stepsister’s story is basically Ana’s.
That’s what I was going for: it’s not just Snow’s story that’s multiplied. The stepsister is the Regina of Cinderella’s story, and the stepmother is the Cora. I’m guessing it’s not a deliberate direction for the show, but it’s very Joseph Campbell and all that. Though if it is deliberate, and they’re leading up to an “I am Spartacus!” resolution to the Hyde arc, that’d be cool.

GaultheriaParticipantRumpel’s tape… Anyone else think that came across like a suicide note? It sounds like he doesn’t have hope to ever speak to his child.

GaultheriaParticipantElla’s betrayal resembled Snow’s, which sorta suggests that it’s normal for fairy tale lives to run parallel to each other. So, I can accept that there’s another FTL family that resembles Ella’s more closely than is typical for our world. Would’ve liked to see what happened to Wonderland Ana, but I kind of like this interpretation.

GaultheriaParticipantThe source doesn’t actually say he’s returning as Robin Hood. I suppose it’s a stretch to hope for Kröd Mändoon, but until I see otherwise…
(Okay, if this double-posts, it’s because I got “ERROR: Are you sure you wanted to do that?” the first time.)
