I think they showed fairly well that by both Neal & Rumple sharing one body, both of their minds were, for lack of a better word, scrambled. They both had moments of clarity but for the most part were in a state of confusion. Some of what’s going in and coming out makes sense, but other times it’s chaos. We saw Rumple be able to surface to get information to Belle. Neal became cognizant in a more extreme way, but that’s not entirely out of character for Neal. (Ahem, how they got joined in the first place) The thing I think they want you to take away from the scene is that Neal is the person who got the message to Hook.
The more I think about the hospital scene, the more I think Neal is speaking, partly, because of his first hand knowledge, but he’s also probably been caught up on the recent events. So it’s not surprising he knew about the note and Hook retrieving Emma in New York. And I think the scene is also meant to show that they both recognized recent actions and finally decided to put their big boy pants on and act like the 300 year olds they are.

PDA overload. God I hope it’s not CS nor do I think it’s going to be. I think it’ll be present day and most likely – and most deservingly – Rumbelle
Jenna_BParticipantCould be either one, and really I wouldn’t care if Neal sent it by goat…I just don’t want another potential “Hook’s lying” discussion in yet another thread, especially when we can clarify he’s not this time. I am still very sensitive about my CaptainFire, people!
Jenna_BParticipantI love Snow’s face in the first pic…’I know you’ve seen my stuff but…AWKWARD!!’
Jenna_BParticipantIt’s kind of funny cause I’m mad at all the characters involved. Snowing was way too quick to attack Killy and question his allegiance. Emma was mean to both Henry and Killy that episode and IMO went too far with her trust comment. She just seemed off to me all episode…. Killian was just generally dumb and wrong in his decision to take Henry with only Smee for protection (…really?) and he failed to fully stick up for himself . he was desperate and made a mistake but his intentions were unselfish… I think though Emma and Killian had more justification for their actions while Snowing was way out of line. Everybody needs to get their stuff together. Zelena is making everyone a little nutty.
Agree with all of this. Yes, after processing, I can understand Emma getting upset with Killian. I’d be pretty PO’d too. Ultimately, she does know something is wrong with Killian and though she understands he doesn’t have to tell her, he’s now making decisions concerning her child based on this information he refuses to explain. So I’ll forgive Emma’s “how can I trust you” line, especially given the events immediately occurring before this statement. I think, too, Emma might have been talking from that place inside her that just wants to leave and forget everything SB once the WW is defeated. That’s not going to happen – that became obvious when Henry remembered and was so incredibly happy to see Regina, followed by Regina and Henry’s TL kiss. It also seems like they work together at some point during the episode so she must acknowledge those words were hollow.
I also agree, I would love to see Killian just say ‘forget it’ and get ready to walk away. Because I think Emma does take him for granted. This may be because of her ‘walls’ or whatever else, but I think at this point, she knows exactly how she feels and I think she knows she still sends him mixed signals. Emma does a lot of “letting things happen to her” as opposed to taking control over her life. She’s the savior so when she needs to, she does what must be done for the greater good, but when it comes to her interpersonal relationships, EVERYONE has had to work like crazy, and something huge usually has to be going down, for Emma to realize how important that person is to her. Again, I know, walls, but you know what? She’s not a child anymore. She’s a 30ish year old woman. She’s been around these people long enough that it’s time for her to grow and change just like everyone else is growing and changing. And I think we saw this just about happening with Killian in the last ep between Emma saying she can’t trust him and Snowing accusing him of lying…you can tell he’s just about broken. Our poor pirate!!
Jenna_BParticipantWhen did Hook say seagull? I’ve heard it mentioned on the forum but I don’t recall when he specified the kind of bird
==
Edit: I just double checked…Hook doesn’t actually specify what kind of bird…”seagull” and “pigeon”, I believe, were suppositions. (If I’m wrong let me know, but I’m almost positive I’m not wrong.)
3×13: “as I was sailing the realms a bird landing on my ship’s wheel”
Jenna_BParticipantDid they say you have to be “purest” of heart? Or pure of heart? In comparison to many on the show, Snow is still pure of heart. Even her murder was for the greater good. And she has and continued to try to atone for murdering Cora. Most importantly, I think, she continues to try to atone for her actions, even though she knows she never will be able to completely. I think that’s what makes a person pure – not prior acts, everyone has those, but the desire and attempt to truly be and do good in the now and future.
Jenna_BParticipantI still think Regina doesn’t know everything she thinks she knows. She didn’t believe you could separate a heart until she did it. She doesn’t believe anyone can create any more portals because she couldn’t. Doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Regina is by no means omniscient. And they already pointed out there are physical boundaries to the curse – Eric & Ariel were outside of those boundaries. Aurora and Philip were outside the boundaries. So there’s no reason Hook couldn’t have been outside the boundary as well.
I still think Hook traded the ship for a means to create a portal. Quoting Neal “lots of things make portals”. We, as the audience, may not have even seen all of the things that can create a portal. So I still think it’s as simple as he traded the boat for the portal-maker.
It looked like it was taking everything Neal had to separate from his father to get the note out, before he either died or had to return to the shared body. I doubt the message was long, and I doubt it ended with ‘love and kisses, Neal’. Neal knew Hook left as soon as they returned to the EF, and Neal knows Hook’s one of the few that might be willing to get involved in this new mess, so it makes perfect sense he sent the message to Hook. I think in SB, someone probably told Neal Hook got a note to get Emma, which is why he thanks him. God knows Emma was telling everyone and anyone for about 4 episodes Hook found her.
