JosephineParticipant
A lot of evil things were done in history with the thought of the “greater good.”
That kind of makes a little sense. When Rumple is imprisoned, don’t they put him in the abandoned mines? The dwarfs, at least Snow’s dwarfs, aren’t mining anymore, and we’re told that’s their sole purpose in life and they love it. So it seems that the fairies source of magic is of the non-renewable resources variety; the beans are lost, the mine (at least that one) is closed, and the there is only one enchanted tree remaining. And what’s even more interesting is that the most powerful source of magic of all, true love, is elusive to them.

JosephineParticipantEverytime I read this thead title I think of going to “The Boston Beanery”, a restaurant chain in the Mid-Atlantic area, and getting baked beans. 🙂
Lil’Red, I’m most disturbed by SwanQueen. Not necessarily the f/f part of it, just that it’s Regina and Emma. Uck.

JosephineParticipantI have a feeling, though, when Rumple shows up with Belle, Charming’s going to figure it out. Maybe a side mention of a certain basement asylum in the hospital, or a referral to their previous conversation. But I do think Charming will connect the dots eventually, David was dense, but Charming is sharper.

JosephineParticipantKnowing that Charming is aware of Rumple having a “True Love” and then Belle showing up, I wonder if he would be inclined to actually help. Rumple helped him find his true love, I would hope Charming would repay that debt But then that’s the the Rumple/Charming fangirl in me.

And then call in the clerics. 😮
I just can’t imagine Moe’s reaction, especially if he’s innocent. Here is his sweet daughter who sacrificed herself, reunited in Storybrooke just to tell her father that she’s in love with the the guy who took her away in the first place. From that angle, I can see all the controversy and dislike against “Beauty and the Beast”, even though it’s still my favorite.
I just got Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach” running through my head now.

JosephineParticipantI want her to still be filled with goodness and light, except in regards to Regina. Her, I want her to want to tear apart piece by piece. I think a lot of people deserve a piece of Regina, but Belle should be one of the first in line.

JosephineParticipantThat might be me. *raises hand* I had to go searching for it, but I remembered writing a big long thing about it and posting here and at Fanforum. They weren’t too enthralled by the idea over there. Here is the original post from May:
I’ve been thinking about Emma, Henry, true love, the Charmings, and Henry’s father and it kept circling in my head. The theme of the show is that true love is the most powerful magic in the world. It got me thinking in OUaT that true love begets true love. I’ll explain…
Snow’s father loved her mother deeply. We’ve even seen him talk about it in front of Regina. So Snow is a product of true love. Then there is Charming. His mother tells of how she dearly loved his father and that true love will follow the ring she gave him, just like it did for her. Next in line is Emma, who we know is the product of Snow’s and Charming’s love for each other, and hence why she’s the savior curtesy of Rumple’s curse.
So that leaves Henry. The last in a long line of true love. We know that Emma truly loves Henry, but unlike the others, he’s not the product of true love. He’s the result of some messed up, accidental, dysfunctional relationship. She was a teenager, he wasn’t told she was pregnant, then she got arrested. Not the outcome of true love. So what’s different with Henry? Why did the cycle stop with his conception?
Or will his parents ultimately be each other’s romantic true loves. The show preaches it and shoves it down our throats, so why for the main character does she not have what everyone around her, even Rumple in his wacked out way, has or had? Do you think they’ll eventually bring back Henry’s father, whoever he is, and redeem him in her eyes?
I do think Henry’s dad will ultimately be Emma’s true love. I also think, even though a lot of others think it’s cliched and predictable that it’s going to be Bae. Henry is connected with all the main players in Storybrooke directly, but Mr. Gold. He’s Regina’s adopted son, Snow’s and Charming’s grandson, Emma’s biological son, but nothing to Gold. I think we’ll be finding out that Gold is Henry’s grandfather.
My biggest theory, which is probably never going to happen, right now is something will happen to Gold, nothing major, just a slight accident and it’s discovered that he has an unusual blood type and someone notices that Henry, when he was dying in the hospital also has that blood type. Putting two and two together, Gold deduces that Bae is Henry’s father and so he goes to Emma to redeem his favor for her to find Henry’s father and his son. (On a side note, my grandfather had an extremely rare blood type and was on an emergency donor list because of the rarity and my parents were glad that nobody in the family inherited it. That’s what made me think up this convoluted theory.)

JosephineParticipantI remember that episode! It was quite a creepy one. I’m not a sci-fi fan, but I did watch Doctor Who on PBS when David Tennant was on it. Quite a few now famous actors have done spots on Doctor Who.

JosephineParticipantGulliver is a good suggestion. I remember when “The Return” came back there was a commercial for some car company and it had Gulliver tied down and he had brown hair and brown eyes and I knew from spoilers that “The Return” was going to deal with August and Gold and Bae, so I thought it was part of the show for about five seconds and I squealed “Oh my god, Bae is Gulliver!” and then the rest of the commercial played. 😕
The only other character I can think of is Prince Eric. Deals with the water, his friend Grim in the Disney version was a physician. Maybe they made him an assistant or trainee in FTL and happened upon Ariel and helped her.
He could be anybody. I just don’t think he’s Monstro.

JosephineParticipantWhat’s interesting is now that Emile is a series regular, the writers have said that Rumple has to deal with this change in his plans. Obviously, Belle exists and isn’t going anywhere in the near future. He’s been planning for centuries, and now something actually came up that he hasn’t planned on. He controls every aspect of everything, but here is something he never thought would ever happen. How will this actually affect his plans?
You guys are right that first and foremost Gold and Belle need to sit down and have a long discussion, before any romance or anything goes on, those two need to talk. They need to put on a pot of coffee or tea or pull a bottle of scotch out and they need to sit and lay everything out on the table. Not very good action for the cameras, but plotwise they need to do this.
I’m almost more looking forward to Belle’s reunion to her father more than anything else. I wonder if Gold will tell her he beat the crap out of him and sent him to the hospital while Gold was sent to jail on assault charges, even though he did get off of them through unethical means.
Part of me does wonder if a seed of what Regina said was true. That’s another reason I want to see Moe again. I want to know just what went on. I have this odd feeling she’ll say nothing happened and then we’ll see a picture of her back and it will be covered in scars.
