You’re right, Belle has had a lot happen to her in a very small period of time. What she needs most is a hot bath, a hairbrush, and an lengthy, detailed explanation.
I do wonder how much she’ll actually be a part of Season 2. I know Emilie’s show didn’t get picked up, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll see her more. But then I think how can they have her with Gold now if she isn’t seen often. I just hope they don’t rip her away from him. A man, even an evil imp, can only take so many knocks before he’s defeated, even if they are at his doing.

JosephineParticipantI love the “Once Upon A Time, Y U no live happily ever after yet?” Those ones with this character just get me everytime.

JosephineParticipantDoes anyone else besides me believe that Maleficent isn’t really dead? That’s she’s going to rise like a phoenix from the ashes. In Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, Prince Phillip kills her with a throw of his sword, reminicent of Emma’s same doing. But we see her afterward advising Regina to give up on the vengence. Maybe she has some kind of curse, similar to Rumple’s, that she can only be truly killed in a certain manner. Maybe slicing the head off or something. I think on the first episode back, we may see her emerge through the doors of the library, hale and hearty.

JosephineParticipantHe does fit nicely into a pair of leather pants, but outside of a rock concert, fairytale land, or a gay bar, I can’t see Mr. Gold opting for the leather pants.
How did we get to becoming obsessed with Rumple/Gold’s pants. π Of course, I could make a comment to tie everything back to the title of this thread, but I’ll keep the thoughts to myself. π

JosephineParticipantI was rewatching the show yesterday and when he got captured by Cinderella, he absolutely knew what he was getting into. Before he even signed he knew that it was a setup and he’d be caught. The only thing that makes sense is that he wanted to be captured because he knew what was coming and his plans were in motion. That man is omniscient, I swear. There is no other explanation for it.
I’ve been comparing him to Severus Snape from Harry Potter, and he is to a large degree the Snape character, but he has the Machiavellian planning of Dumbledore (yes, I meant that…Dumbledore turned out to be a master manipulator, brilliant man, but he had so many more layers.)

I’m curious to learn how the other fairytale creatures deal with power and magic. So far, we’ve only seen Regina and Rumpel’s view of magic. We’ve been led to believe that power and magic lead to evil deeds. But there are other fairytale creatures that possess magic and power who are actually good. So, I’d like to hear what they’d have to say about magic and the price they had to pay, if any at all.
I think they pay a price, also. It seems that everyone who has magic is destined for a lonely life. Ever since Rumple has obtained his magic he has suffered by losing both Bae and Belle. Regina, after losing Daniel, never did really find a way to truly fill her heart, like Snow and even Maleficent told her. Then on the good side, we see the fairies who are destined to live without having romantic love. The Blue Fairy let us know that it didn’t have a place in their lives, hence why them being an order of Nuns makes sense in Storybrooke…they serve a higher calling. Let’s see, who else is magical…Archie/Jiminy. He decided to live life as a cricket. He may be happy, but he’ll never have true love, either, unless it’s in Storybrooke or with a non-magical cricket. Then there is Jefferson who uses magic isn’t the happiest person in the world, losing his wife and his situation with his daughter. Everyone has paid a price of some sort of the other where magic is concerned.

JosephineParticipantI’m conflicted on Rumple’s fashion. I love his Steven Tyler persona as Rumple, but I got to admit the suits do something for me. A sharply dressed man is a sight to behold and I hope we don’t have to give up the suits. The man even wore one for digging in the dirt in the middle of the woods.

JosephineParticipantI have white hand-knit lap blanket that I pass everyday that reminds me of Emma’s baby blanket. It’s a different pattern and the only thing in common with Emma’s blanket is the color, but I just realized why I probably think of it. It’s the last thing my mom knit before she passed away. Emma’s blanket is the last, and only thing, she has of her mother.
On that note, as a knitter myself I wonder if someone has come up with a pattern for Emma’s blanket. It’s a large garter stitch, that I can tell. Similarly, there is a lot of knitting in Harry Potter and tons of patterns associated with the books. I assume someone will eventually dissect the blanket and create a pattern.

Me too! I posted somehwhere on here that I had a dream that Rumplestiltskin showed up at a store and I hid in the aisle on the side just so he wouldn’t look at me, kind of like the townspeople did with the Dark One. However, with him on screen and me in my living room, I love him. π I’m going to put his giggle as my ringtone. I just want to see Gold in his fancy suit and tie do the Rumple giggle. Please writers, just once give us the giggle in Storybrooke.

JosephineParticipantCome on, it has to be Belle. The ship that launched a thousand fanfics. Her one episode alone changed the way everyone viewed Rumple/Mr. Gold. Just think what her five minutes on screen in the finale and a summer of speculation will do. π
