Which is easier, crochet or knitting?
I say crochet; Jo says knitting.
*Shakes head in agreement* Yep, we disagree as to which is easier.
My mom did both and said one wasn’t harder than the other. Knitting takes longer, but while crochet is faster it also takes more yarn. I find crochet very difficult, but a lot of people have the same reaction to knitting. I like knitting because there are really only two stitches, knit and purl, whilst crochet has three thousand stitches to learn. 😛
I also knit left-handed, which is very unusual for a knitter. There is a false argument that because it’s a two handed activity it shouldn’t matter, but I am very left dominant and there is definitely a dominant hand in knitting. Don’t let anyone fool you otherwise. I do occasionally have to adjust my patterns, but that is a rarity. I just follow the pattern and it comes out a mirror image of what a righty would produce. That said, I can knit right-handed. I don’t enjoy it and rarely do it, but I am able to. For my fellow knitters (because this won’t make sense to anyone else) I knit Left-handed (Mirror) English or Right-handed Continental.

JosephineParticipantIs it weird that I’m terrified of losing the tag on Puck when he comes to visit me soon? It’s like an umbilical cord that is hanging there :P.
The Hedgehog looks like a Hettie to me. 😛 Is it a permanent friend? Does she go on trips, too, or does she not have a passport yet?

JosephineParticipantDon’t feel bad, KP. I’ve been attempting to crochet for probably 20 years and I’ve still not gotten past the chain stage. 😛 I will learn to at least do a single crochet someday. And I can do a crochet slip stitch seam for knitting, so that’s kinda like crochet. 😉
*Hugs knitting needles* I’ll not forsake you guys for a nasty hook. 😛
I have bought a Tunisian crochet kit. I’m hoping the hybrid will be a bridge between my knitting and attempted crochet. I haven’t opened it yet. Still working on other projects right now. After I’m done with one of them, I’ll crack it open and stalk YouTube for videos.

JosephineParticipantDo you know how peeved off I’ll be at the Charmings if they kept Rumple out of Henry’s life simply because Neal was dead….like to the max! That’s why I’m thankful the whole Ava/Cora thing came out, and showed them that they shouldn’t be as self righteous as they were in season 2. As long as Henry has Stilskin Blood in him, Rumple has grandfather rights to him. Just as if Cora was still alive, she’d have grandparents right to Henry because of his Mills Lineage.
I don’t think the Charmings will. But I think the writers will try to put considerable distance between Rumple and Henry.
I’ll go even farther and say the writers forget that Henry is even Rumple’s grandson. They will have no heart-to-heart conversations or even acknowledgements this coming season.

JosephineParticipantSo, are we haters? No. Are we crazy? Yes, most definitely. But we all have love for each other, many of us still have love for the show, and we still have love for or ship. So, please, don’t come here and attack us just because you don’t like what we’re posting in a thread that is specifically made to discuss all things related to Swanfire.
Oh, Corbin, I just adore you.
And Watcher, I have faith you can decipher the code. Â Corbin did, so you can, too. Â (Although a bit a back research is needed.)

JosephineParticipantGaultheria, if you need sock blockers there’s good instructions on how to make them online out of plastic placemats. Â I’m planning on making a few myself.
Taking a tiny break from knitting to finish my tote bag. Â It’s a fold-over tote that you can carry by a long strap or by the handles if you fill it up.

JosephineParticipantIt’s bad that I’m still not at the point that I can evaluate this season.

JosephineParticipantRightly or wrongly, I do read other people’s posts with their bias in the back of my mind. If I know someone is ship-neutral, I’m less likely to feel defensive if they say something detrimental about my ship/fave character, because I know they’re not being influenced emotionally either way, they’re being more objective. But if I see someone with a known bias saying something, I will naturally assume that their bias is influencing their opinion and it’ll get under my skin more. And rightly or wrongly, I naturally assume that others feel the same about my posts too.
I admit to doing this, too. Â It’s just automatic and how I process information. Â Should I? Â Probably not, but that’s how I am.
Fans will always ship. Â In a fandom, if two characters are on screen together, or even never heard of each other, they’re going to be shipped together in some fashion by some faction of fandom. Â However, I do think it’s the writers’ faults for the continued animosity of the show. Â The tweets of “have faith” (meaning no way ever), “that’s not what I said” (I totally said that), or “keep watching” (we have no idea what’s going on), have fueled the shipping wars along with every article that comes out. Â They’ve contradicted themselves and obscured and twisted their words so much because they don’t want to offend a portion of fandom, but it’s just made everything worse. Â They’ve fanned the flames of a fire they were trying to extinguish.
In addition, the feel of the show show has changed. Â It’s just not the show it was in season one. Â It seems to me the whole group of writers and the showrunners should go back and rewatch season one. Â I’m finding I just don’t care about most of the characters anymore. Â I admit I do ship certain characters (Rumbelle and SF) but they’re not the only ones who’s writing has baffled me. Â I have problems with the show that go way beyond shipping. Â I used to be a glee fan. Â In that show, you can’t get too comfortable with your OTP because chances are they’re going to get together, break up, sleep with others, get back together, cheat, get pregnant, get back together. Â It was whiplash but I still enjoyed the show. Â So I can separate shipping from story. But when the story is subpar then that’s when the trouble comes.
I think this show is driving away viewers. Â It will be interesting after the premiere how ratings are going to be. Â A number of people, Â both shippers and non-shippers, have said they’re either giving up the show or not watching live anymore. Â Plot and characterization have taken a backseat to “bold” storytelling and flash. Â Now they’re bringing in “Frozen”, which I think they’re looking at to increase ratings, but could be a disaster if they handle it incorrectly.
I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future with this show. Â I know I miss the days of season one where people didn’t care about ships as fanatically (although I’m still traumatized by Golden Swaners). Â I find myself posting much less and I rarely chat about the show. Â If it weren’t for the friendships I’ve made here, I wouldn’t come at all. The show has just evolved into a different animal than it once was, I don’t see it ever returning to its origins.

JosephineParticipantIs it wrong if I were to say I disagree with this? T_T I’ve yet to meet a guy who was circumcised (and I must stress this isn’t because I’ve SEEN anything….) I have a ton of male friends and this was a topic of conversation at one point in high school….and college… Apparently it isn’t as common as one would think. *pondering why I chose to even post this comment* >_> again, I dont know this from personal experience.. >_> just saying.
I have to agree with HE on this one. Â When my sister had her son he was circumcised like all the rest of the family and we are all christian. Â The doctor advised it and it’s done right after birth for non-Jewish babies. Â Also, in all the years of changing diapers at preschool, and I’ve changed a lot since we have kids from ages 2-5 and various stages of potty training, not one of them have been uncircumcised.
As for names, I wouldn’t be shocked if there is a kid out there named “Hiatus”. Â People do some terribly cruel things to their kids when they pick out their names.

JosephineParticipantThat’s beautiful, RG. Â The color is just great.
So jealous at how quickly you can crochet a blanket vs. knitting. Â Knitting is a lot slower although it takes less yarn than crochet. Â I’ve been knitting a baby blanket and it’s taking me forever even on large needles and holding two strands to make a bulky thread.
