ModeratorAt the end of the day, Regina is a major character who has been with the show since the pilot and is by far one of the most popular. Unless Lana outright refused, then they’re going to do whatever it takes to have her sing. The fact that the Evil Queen’s lair is listed among the scenes to include singing, I think it’s a safe bet that she will sing.

ModeratorThere is just no way they could get proper sound quality for songs on location.
Galavant did live singing on location, according to several people who worked on the show. The way it worked was they’d record demos in the studio, and then sing live on camera with earpieces. Although they would mix between the studio and live takes to get the most optimal performances. I imagine OUAT will go the full studio recording followed by lip syncing route, though.

ModeratorABC officially renewed Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder and Scandal today. No news on any other shows yet.
They renewed The Middle a few weeks ago, but that’s it.

ModeratorSo, if asterisks means scene with songs, so there will be 12 scenes with songs, the 1st group home bedroom, i assume is past emma again, and in those we can see who is singing or not, would mean maybe young Emma, Charming, maybe Snow???, Zelena, Regina/EQ, Hook , granny, dwarfs, gepetto and then a group song.
Keep in mind that some songs could make use of multiple locations. For example, how “Charming’s Castle Balcony” is directly followed by “Charming’s Bedroom”, and “Evil Queen’s Lair” is directly followed by “EQ’s Lair – Hall of Mirrors”.

ModeratorIt doesn´t matter if they know how to sing or not, is not like they will sing live, they may record the songs 1st and then just move their lips on filming, especially since there will be dance numbers and with all modern technologies even the worst singer in the world, has a voice that can grants them a grammy, from my knowledge only Colin can sing for real, all the others can suck but then on the episode, with the effects will show that they all have great voices.
Also the asterisks, what do they mean? are those the scenes that won`t have any singing? or are the scenes that will have singing?
Are you implying that some cast members could end up being auto-tuned? Guess that possibility can’t be ruled out. And yeah, apparently the asteriks do mean those scenes will involve singing. I heard Paul had an Instagram video, which may be where the initial photo originated from, and “*Denotes singing [third word cut off]” was visible at the bottom of the page.

The dates are interesting: February 13th-March 16th. I imagine they needed more time than usual to film the musical, due to all of the complications involved. My guess is they’ll be filming 619 and maybe even 621 simultaneously with the musical episode. They’ve done that sort of thing before by filming with two different units.

ModeratorPlease tell me it’s not really called “The Musical Episode”
Sounds like a working title to me, so I hope it isn’t the actual title.
