ModeratorWait. Gaston is notβ¦a rose anymore?
Well, if they’re in the Underworld, Gaston might have died after turning into a rose. Either when Belle clipped him, or he eventually withered away due to the short lifespan of plants.

ModeratorThis show reminds me a bit of another ABC show, Pushing Daisies. That show was kooky, visually different, off-kilter, and odd. But it was fantastic. Only after it was gone did other people realize how good it was. I fear people will discover Galavant at a later date and regret not watching when it was originally aired, much like has happened with Pushing Daisies.
I think this is essentially why Galavant isn’t doing as well as it should. It’s just so different and unique. The concept of a musical based TV show could be off putting for casual TV viewers, and the show has a campy sense of humor. Not quite the same thing, but another less successful project for Alan Menken was the movie Newsies. The film was a box office bomb at the time, but it grew a cult following over time to the point that it would find later success as a Broadway musical. If Galavant gets the stage adaptation treatment in the future, perhaps there’s a potential of success for it in the same manner.
