ModeratorThe closer we get to the finale, the more I fully believe that Jafar won’t be making an appearance in it. That’s not to say we won’t get Jafar in Season 5, but I just don’t see him making his entrance quite yet. After all, Season 1 didn’t end with a new villain being introduced. For Season 2’s villains, we did see Cora in episode 118, but she wouldn’t return til 202, and Hook wouldn’t appear at all until 204. Hook did get a teaser at SDCC that Summer, so something similar could happen with Jafar and/or Aladdin. The end of Season 2 clearly set up Peter Pan as the next villain, but we also didn’t technically see Peter Pan until the Season 3 premiere.

ModeratorYeah I sorta wished they had saved that title for now
According to an old interview, it turns out that they named that episode after a Beach Boys song. However, they do say it’s a descriptor for the second half of the Season:
Is heroes vs. villains a fair descriptor for the second half of the season?
KITSIS: Absolutely. That is the title of episode 11.
HOROWITZ: It’s “Heroes and Villains.”
KITSIS: That’s actually named after the Beach Boys song.MatthewPaul
ModeratorGuess you couldn’t call the finale “Operation Mongoose” without name dropping it within the actual episode.

ModeratorGuess they realised that the ridiculous sounding “Operation Mongoose” wouldn’t exactly make for good promo for the masses.
Part of me wonders if the writers wished they had saved the title “Heroes and Villains” for the Season finale, rather than using it for the Mid-Season finale? Though they might have intentionally used the title as foreshadowing for the Season’s endgame. Even though they didn’t write the full script for the finale til months later, they already had an outline for the entire Season.

ModeratorYou know, seeing that Henry will play a rather large role in the finale and many are predicting Rumple will die or be undone in some other fashion, I wonder if the prophecy will come back into play? We thought that Henry indirectly led to Rumple’s undoing, because the whole #SaveHenry arc led to Rumple sacrificing himself. However, the actual prophecy still may not have been fulfilled yet. If Henry becomes the new Author and reverses the AU, then that would likely negatively effect Rumple. Not only would Rumple’s plans be thwarted, but he would likely go back to suffering from his heart ailment.

ModeratorI was thinking the same thing…Hook went to NL long before Rumple became the Dark One, so shouldn’t Hook be older than Rumple?
Hook and his crew only went to Neverland after Rumple became the Dark One. There was a time gap between when Milah left with Hook, and when Rumple ran into Hook and Milah again. Hook did go to Neverland once before back when he was a Naval Officer, but that was just a one day trip.
