ModeratorAll premiere related interviews go in this thread.
Nah, this is fine. This isn’t from the pre-screening of 412 and 413, but a separate interview with Lana.

ModeratorCurrent day Marian being Zelena would be weird. That would mean Zelena was the one be frozen after eating the cursed ice cream, Zelena was playing mom to Roland and that Zelena was the one getting jiggy with Robin Hood. Also why would Zelena say to Regina “Yeah I’m happy for you to be with Robin”?
Well it would explain why Marian suddenly started freezing again, if it turned out Zelena did that to herself on purpose knowing it would mean Robin would leave town and separate from Regina in order to save her. None of Ingrid’s other victims randomly reverted to their freezing state like Marian did. And of course, it would make even more sense why TLK didn’t work between her and Robin. If they were to go the fake Marian route, it would also be a way for them to whitewash the moral issues Outlaw Queen faced following Marian’s “return.”

ModeratorWell, seeing the kid put on the red hood at the end and pretend like he was shooting a gun made me think that maybe Jerome had been total misdirection, and this new kid is a new Joker candidate. After the way they characterised and promoted Jerome, I was 95% sure they wouldn’t turn around and have that be a fake out…but now I’m not so confident.
I can tell you this is a long game plan and a long story that we are telling here. What I can promise you is this is not a bait-and-switch. This is not someone who is just a character who is going to disappear. This is not a red herring. It’s the beginning of the story of how the Joker came to be, how the Joker was created, where he came from, who he is. Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Cameron Monaghan is the Joker. He might be. But like I say, this is a story that begins about seven or eight years before the actual Joker arrives on the scene in his fully-fledged persona. As we’re telling with all of these characters, the origin story of that villain begins Monday.
While he is cryptic and won’t confirm or deny that Jerome is the future Joker, he did clarify that the Joker’s origin definitely started in that episode. Honestly, we may never get a fully concrete answer during the show itself, since whoever becomes the Joker won’t become the Joker until Batman himself is already out and about.

ModeratorI think Zelena and Mal’s returns will be linked–and I think they’ll go back to what Rumple said in 403 about magic changing forms but not being able to be destroyed. (At least I HOPE so.)
With both Zelena and Mal, we saw them turn to magic dust at some point. (And in both cases, they were killed by a blade with high significance to the wielder–we know that objects CAN take on a kind of magic if they’re important enough.) And in both cases the dust was capable of acting AFTER the villain was dead–in ways that seemed to go along with the villain’s desires.
So I think that Rumple may bring back Mal and Regina may realize she can bring back Zelena the same way. Or Rumple will accidentally bring back Zelena doing whatever he does to reactivate Mal.
Either way, I’m excited for Zelena’s return–while Rumple’s killing her made PERFECT sense, she was a fun character to have on the show and I think she balanced Regina out a bit. I’d like to see Regina have a chance to deal with her more.
Some people have a theory elsewhere that Zelena’s ashes might have traveled back in time, which could explain the flashback between her and Marian in 417. To go even further, they also suggest that Zelena might have even disguised herself as Marian, and it was her all along who traveled back to present day with Emma and Hook. Walsh’s furniture shop is also making an appearance in 417 during Robin and Marian’s scenes in NYC. In a way, I could see them seriously doing that, especially in relation to this quote from the interview:
We have a really fun idea that we love for Zelena that we started kicking around toward the end of last year and have slowly been putting into place.
Marian was brought back at the end of the year, so “slowly been putting into place” would fit if she did turn out to really be Zelena. It’s pretty crazy, and it would spring a bunch of other questions, but at the same time I wouldn’t put it past them.

ModeratorChernabog is a servant of Lily who is the anti-savior, and somehow “linked” to Emma either by virtue of twinage or is actually Emma’s “dark side” that cannot coexist within Emma Swan herself since she is TL Incarnate
“Neither can live while the other survives.” Fitting reference for me to make, considering the Harry Potter references in their initial flashback back in 405.

ModeratorI just remembered, this was mentioned in that TV Guide article, in relation to Chernabog:
Regina, who has reclaimed her job as mayor, and Emma (Jennifer Morrison) will inadvertently release a prominent creature from Disney lore. But, unlike the snow beast from Frozen that terrorized Storybrooke last fall, executive producer Adam Horowitz says, “this monster is not just about wanton destruction. It will lead to a startling revelation about Emma — something that’ll be huge news to the audience.”

ModeratorDemons have been in plenty of fantasy and fairy tale stories, so I actually don’t think it’s unfitting.
