ModeratorMaybe Enchanted Forest time doesn’t equal the same as our world time? Like how in Narnia, a couple decades was only like 20 seconds in our world. It doesn’t really add up though because in season 2 when Emma and Snow got sent to the EF time seemed to move at the same pace but still thats something
Plus a year went by in both FTL and our world in Season 3B.

ModeratorIf there’s one thing I want to see this episode, it’s Belle finding out about the dagger. It’s been almost an entire arc since they’ve set this up, and I am getting constantly annoyed that it keeps getting dropped (did anyone else expect Belle to overhear the conversation between Rumple and Hook?).
If things don’t come to a head with that, I’ll be pretty upset.
That does seem like a Winter Finale worthy revelation. Would make sense for Belle to finally figure it out just as Rumple’s attempting to finalize his plans. I also think that the tape Rumple has of Hook assisting in the absorption of the Apprentice into the hat will re-emerge. Hook will spill the beans that Rumple bewitched the tape, and then maybe Emma will use her magic to un-bewitch it and see Rumple back on the tape. Then perhaps someone will put two and two together, and realize that maybe Rumple did kill Zelena and that he used the same tape manipulating spell on the Sheriff’s station security footage.

Moderator…sure? But Ingrid arrived in SB in 2001–so wouldn’t Regina know by that point that Dopey was the original Ice Cream Guy and New Blondie Girl isn’t?
Well the ice cream shop didn’t just magically appear when Ingrid showed up, so it had to always be there with someone else running it prior. Plus, the whole bound and gagged under the counter trope is common for when someone steals somebody else’s job. I mean why else would he be in the scene like that at all?

ModeratorYeaaaaaah. I think I’m going to have to get used to the idea of Sorcerer as God*. That seems to be where they are going with this.
* = and his name is Walt. You watch. His name will be Walt
I think you mean Yen Sid. =p

ModeratorAnybody have a clue what Dopey is doing behind the counter?
No idea.
I thought it was implied that Dopey was the original Ice Cream shop owner, so Ingrid bound and gagged him and stole his job?

ModeratorI also want to know how she became a foster mother–started the paper work to adopt Emma–when she has no SSN or other form of ID, education, references, ect
The other question is how did she actually locate Emma in our world. Did the Sorcerer’s scroll tell her? Maybe he conjured up some fake paper work too.

ModeratorDo A&E oversee every editing of each episode, or do they simply rely on an editing team who may not have seen every episode? If they do it themselves, then they simply must not care about the show anymore. If not, they absolutely need to find a new editing team. There is a surprising lack of continuity, which could also come down to the writing team. For instance, Ingrid didn’t age in SB yet Henry did? Ingrid should’ve aged in SB since she wasn’t cursed!
Also, did the editing team really need the opening scene with the fake fortune teller? I don’t think so, since it seemed like an unnecessary scene. I think if they’d scrapped that scene in favor of the scene between Ingrid and Regina, it would’ve just as easily have shown that magic didn’t exist in this world in 2011, and it would’ve established that Ingrid brought magic rocks with her from her world. Instead, by leaving it out, they left a lot of gaps, and room for very valid criticism, since it seemed like Ingrid used magic she created in A Land Without Magic. And without this explanation of where the magic came from, it’s a hot mess of confusion for viewers who don’t bother to watch cut scenes on GMA or online.
Typically the producers are in the editing room directing the editor. Even if Adam and Eddy aren’t always in there for the full editing process, they still have the final approval for the final cut of the episode. Some scenes are actually cut before they even get to film them, too. I also blame the rushed production aspect of the show. These episodes are only filmed a month before they air, and the writers are busy writing other episodes as Production and Post-Production take place for the earlier episodes. I still have a theory that the reason 408 got extended into a 2 hour episode was because there was too much material that they didn’t want to leave on the cutting room floor, and ABC saw that there was enough room in the schedule to do so. Especially since 408 was the last episode to air before the Thanksgiving hiatus, so ABC saw it as a marketing thing.

ModeratorOne question I have is what did Ingrid do during the missing year when everyone was brought back to FTL? I guess she just kept low.

ModeratorA bit of a drop in the second half hour. Everyone seems to singing the praises of this episode (including yours truly for the most part) so that’s odd.
In other news: say goodbye to Resurrection, everyone.
Though fortunately, it’s the final ratings average of the full hour that counts. The half hour ratings typically aren’t observed. It’ll be interesting to see how the Winter Finale does. Last year’s Winter Finale didn’t do that great, but maybe the extra hype around this one will help. Plus plenty will likely want to see how the Frozen storyline comes to a close.

ModeratorDeleted scenes like this make me wonder just how many other scenes there are that explain important details that were written and/or filmed, but never made it into the final cut of these episodes. I’ve always suspected that the writers don’t always necessarily overlook or forget certain things, but instead episodes can fall victim to the dreaded 42 minute time restraint. And I know the deleted scenes we actually get on the DVD/BDs aren’t the only deleted scenes, as filming photos and leaked scripts are proof that there are several we haven’t seen and likely never will. Now I understand as someone who has experience with video editing that finding which scenes to keep and which scenes to remove can be an easier said than done process. That’s not to say that they still shouldn’t make a better judgement on which material is the most vital to keep intact.
