I like that theory too, but there’s one problem with it, namely Henry. He did procure Henry for Regina and that couldn’t have been a coincidence. He must have known whose kid Henry was.
Uh, that’s actually a really good point. I’ve always believed that Mr. Gold chose Henry intentionally. I think he knew that Henry was Emma’s son. Personally, I think Rumpel mapped out his entire plan before the curse even took effect. He seems to be behind the actions and decisions of so many of the characters on this show.
And to answer the question of whether or not Rumpel can see the future…I actually don’t necessarily believe that he can see the future. I think Rumpel maps out numerous scenarios and then pushes them to come to fruition. He makes sure that his plans always come true. So it only looks like he can tell the future, when in fact, it’s just him manipulating the lives of Storybrooke to make sure that his plan always meets its destination.
It’s actually kind of creepy when you think of it that way. 😆 😯

ParticipantIf August is Pinocchio, I hope the writers give us a decent explanation as to why August and Pinocchio looking nothing alike. Pinocchio has red hair, brown eyes, pale skin and freckles. And August…doesn’t. I feel like there’s so much evidence pointing to him being Pinocchio, but then there’s one big flaw that just tears the entire theory apart.

ParticipantCan I be the keeper of August’s baby blue eyes? 😀

Even if it turns out to be that, it’s always possible they do it in such a cool way that we’re all blown away anyway … even those who saw it coming episodes ago. 😀
That’s what I’m hoping. I want the writers to do something cool and original with the Pinocchio story. That’s the only way I’ll accept it. But I’ll wait until the episode airs to start ranting. 😆

I already don’t care about who August is. It is just one of the things we don’t know so it seems to be discussed a lot. I actually would rather they didn’t waste the screen time telling us. Though maybe if he gets a bit more character development then i will like him better.
Right now, I like August. But it’s more of a superficial “like.” I like him because he’s nice and friendly, but I’m not terribly invested in his story. But that’s why I’m so anxious to find out who he is. If the writers play their cards right, they can have a truly great character on their hands. I just hope whoever he is, it’s someone interesting and important. And he DEFINITELY needs to be connected to the curse. He should either have some info on how to break it or some other magical power. I don’t like waiting for characters that don’t have magical powers. 😆

Do you think something bad would happen to him if he did not follow a deal? He was freaking out in the first episode when it seemed like Snow was not going to give the name of her baby!
I think that was because when he met Emma and said her name in Granny’s Inn he got his memories back. It was very important that he got Emma’s name before the curse.
Ooo! I hadn’t thought of that! Great theory!
Maybe Rumpel knew that hearing Emma’s name would trigger his memories once he was in Storybrooke.

ParticipantI like the theory that maybe Rumpel needs to make deals in order for him to survive. Maybe there’s some kind of dark karmic energy that will punish him if he doesn’t make deals. 😯
And I also like the theory of Rumpel trading his dagger, which is essentially his power, in order to save Belle. I’d also love to see him do that for Baelfire. But there’s no way in hell I’ll be able to wait until the end of the series for that to happen. 😯 😯 😯

ps. They day August is Pinocchio is the day I become tinkerbell.
LOL!!! 😆 😆 😆 PREACH!!!
In the event that August does turn out to be Pinocchio, I’ll have an open mind about it. I want to like August. I want to be invested in his character and storyline. So, I’ll try to give the Pinocchio story arc a chance. 😉

I love your theory RumplesGirl… that he found a way to keep himself knowledgeable of the curse even after it was carried out… could it be the prison he was in? The prison is constructed to ward off magic… maybe that’s why he almost willingly fell into cinderella’s trap, knowing that the prison will still protect him? well … either that, or he is above the curse as he himself created it… wonder how…

As I’m rewatching “Skin Deep” for the twentieth time or so,

Once he learns that Belle is alive, perhaps his decision will be made for him: if, to help her, he has to go back to being the monster, I think he’d willingly pay that price, and consider it a bargain.love this idea too… i can’t wait till they are reunited, somehow i feel that this love story is the main happy ending of the whole series (and not those boring snow and charming)
plus hehe…. kudos on watching it so many times…
i just love that rumpel xxx
I love Rumpel too. He makes the show for me. 😀
And hey hey! Snow and Charming aren’t that bad….ok, they do bore me a little bit, but hey. 😆 😆 😆
I’m anxious to learn what other powers or abilities does Mr. Gold have. Is having his memories the only ability that he has in Storybrooke, or is there something else? I have a feeling we’ll learn in the season finale that Mr. Gold still has some of his old powers from Fairytale land.
Have fun reading through the forums! There’s been a lot of lively conversation in this thread lately. 😉

It’s one of the things that makes him so terrifying.
So true!!! 😯 😯 😯 A villain who always keeps his promises is not a man you want to mess with. That shows a lot of conviction.
