I think you can always expect the worst of Rumpel. I certainly always expect the worst out of the Evil Queen. Though i think it is possible to feel sorry for him, what made him what he is, but we haven’t seen that yet. We have seen what the made Regina the Evil Queen and i do feel sorry for her bad childhood, but i still think that she is always going to do the worst. I expect the same thing from Rumpel.
We’ve already seen what made Rumpel evil. The curse of the Dark One. He became an eternal demonic entity when that happened. And to be honest, I think Rumpel’s descent into evil is more understandable than Regina’s. Rumpel was consumed by a dark power that effected everyone it touched. Even someone as good and pure Snow White would have eventually succomed to it’s power. It’s almost akin to possession. Regina, on the other hand, blamed the death of her lover on a little girl, when her angered should have been fixated on her mother. Cora ripped Daniel’s heart out right in front of her, and yet, she blames Snow White. This, in my opinion does not justify or help me understand why Regina is so evil. Rumpel became the Dark One all in an effort to save his son from being sent off to die in a useless war. At least he isn’t blaming his evil on anyone in particular. He accepts what he’s become, while Regina only finds ways to blame others to justify on violent acts. They’re both evil, but their origins stories are extremely different.

Okay guys, was able to update today.
I just realized no one has called that August is Baelfire. Anyone want to call that before the end of the season?
Sam993 like the Swan Princess idea 🙂
I’LL CALL IT!!! 😀 😀 😀
August is definitely Rumpel’s son.

I hope August is Bae simply because I want more scenes with Rumple and his son! Hey, if August is able to summon Mr. Gold, does this mean people can use magic is story brooke? (Besides for Emma, who has brought in her magic by moving time, and making magic portal hats)
ME TOO!!! 😆 😆 😆 Wow, we’re really 😳 selfish!
I just think having Bae in the picture would create a lot of great character development for Mr. Gold.

I still really think that Rumpel’s loyalties are just with himself. He threw Belle out and even though he wanted her back later on after he heard what Regina said, he still threw her out. And we have no idea what he did to Bae, but i am thinking it isn’t going to be great.
He threw her out because he thought she was working with the queen. Robert Carlyle confirmed it in an interview. He honestly thought he was being tricked. And as far as Bae goes, we’ll have to wait and see. Because if August is Bae, then it’s quite obvious that Rumpel didn’t kill him.
…hopefully. 😯

12. Rumple is in it for himself, his son and Belle. He has made enemies of everyone. He has altered every single Fairy Tale. I’m willing to bet after the curse is broken everyone will remember who they are and whether or not everyone returns to FTL or not, the endgame and final mission is to beat Rumple. Once he is defeated, all of the fairy tales will return to original form. He is the real enemy but everyone has yet to see that. Perhaps Henry is the only one who knows this.
17. Think of the character of Darth Vader from Episode 1 to Episode 6. He started good until he got the dagger and killed the Dark One. Vader was good until he killed Dooku and pledged his allegience to Palpatine. When Luke finally turns Vader in ep 6 he is good again. Baelfire maybe the key to his good as well as Belle. He has not seen their Storybrooke version or the later FTL versions.
I definitely agree with this part of your post. Mr. Gold’s true loyalties lie with Belle and Baelfire (if we ever see him in Storybrooke). I could never truly see him as a genuine ally of Emma’s and Mary Margaret’s. However, if Belle and Baelfire do manage to reach Mr. Gold and try to convince him to change his ways, I think he’d make a spirited effort. A lot of what Rumpel did in Fairytale land was inspired by the love of either Baelfire or Belle. So, anything is possible.

I think these are photos from Ep 20: The Stranger. The next episode.
Oh! The next episode? Then I wonder what happened in episode 1×19 “The Return” that has them looking so friendly? Are they working together? Are they allies? Father and son maybe? God, I hope so. 😀

ParticipantOk guys, I think I love August. It just hit me. I don’t where it came from, but there you go.
Sweet Jesus, I hope Mr. Gold doesn’t end up killing him. 😯 😯 😯

ParticipantOMG!!! GUYS!!! Someone on Tumblr just pointed out a very improtant detail. One of the stills from episode 1×19 “The Return” shows Bae with an injured knee. This might explain why August was having so much leg trouble in last week's episode.

Participant@Midnight Dreary I also want to say that he’s Baelfire. I REALLY want to. But there’s one slight detail that sets them apart: August has blue eyes and Baelfire has brown eyes. Besides that, I’m convinced they’re the same person.
YOU ARE THE DESTROYER OF DREAMS!!! 😥 😥 😥
Ok, that was a little harsh. 😆 But you’re right. Then who the heck does August look like? Because he definitely doesn’t look anything like Pinnochio, but he and Bae don’t share the same eye color. Hmm, me confused. 😕
