Participantrumplegoldfankristi,
Nice to meet you. I love any show that makes me think and has a mystery whether it is just an hour to from show to show… Dislike the so call REALITY SHOWS as after you see one or two they are BORING!!! All of the are scripted and scripted poorly. Like watching dirt mold / paint dry… you get the picture.
I consider the acting on this show pretty good as even though they are suppose to be the same person they play up different characteristics, mannerisms and feelings.
The girls in the house are hooked on this show. Hubby only watches sports and then plays strategy and war games on the computer. He leaves me alone during the show or he does not get dinner. My Gdson runs through the house but often stops to watch for a minute then he is off to play again. I do notice more sword fighting with rolls of wrapping paper and him “RIDING” a horse more often since he has seen parts of the show…. but that could be because of Dragon Tales or Sword in the Stone.I love all the Disney shows and I LOVE THIS ONE BEST OF ALL….
Looking forward to discussions as the season goes on.

I hear what you are saying Riddleraven. I just don’t find Rumpel all that impressive of a strategist. I haven’t seen much evidence that he is doing anything for the long game. I don’t believe he can see the future. There are just too many times when he doesn’t know things like where the fairy godmother was or that the queen is lying about Belle being dead unless the idea is that he is faking all of those things for his own purposes.
but with a good stageyist you would not even KNOW there is a strategy and you are being manipulated.

In my opinion, i don’t think that proves anything because there are other things that were transported and transformed in Storybrooke as well like the Troll bridge or the mines.
Mines are under ground we saw the remainders of the Glass Coffin
The TOLL bridge is a modern cement bridge but has T”R” OLL painted to make it say TROLL.

ParticipantDidn’t Regina go to her father’s grave… push the top off and descend stairs to FTL and the hidden chamber … in order to crush Grahams heart…. it looked like more stairs than in a basement.
Just wondering

As I mentioned in another post, I re-watched the pilot yesterday and what came to my mind, is that James is dead in FTL! Right? I mean, Snow tries to wake him up, even remembers true love’s kiss, but nothing happens. Then the EQ appears, the curse is inacted and the next time we see his counterpart, he’s alive but in a coma. So, he wasn’t really dead? Or was he and he’ll be again when the curse is broken(which would make a hell of bad ending …)?
I don’t belive that he’ll be dead in the end, but It’s just strange, that he seemed really dead in FTL and now isn’t in SB..
MEDICAL CARE in Storybrook is so much better now a days then in FLTs. .. PC got saved by the advance medical care.
WELL, I think life now a days is much richer and less hard on the average person / peasant…. Anyone who does not have a castle and subjects will want to stay…. Everyone who had riches, a castle and servants will want to go…..
What will the HAVES do without the slaves… servants to take care of them???

Participantfyi… I did not mean to imply that I thought August was the apprentice, research assistant to the Grimm brothers and he somehow became keeper of the book.
I think the writers of OUAT are honoring this man who got over looked by history.
Plus it is a great red herring…. sending us off to bark up the wrong tree…
I must be tired I can not think of any more cliches.

ParticipantMermaids, Sirens, Water Witches are sprinkled in the folktales / cultural icons of many different ethnic groups and races not just Grimm Fairytales. The Grimm brothers were one of the first to write down and publish the fairytales of their native land. Prior to that fairy tales were passed down verbally from one generation and group of people to another. Here in MI every summer there are STORY TELLING FESTIVALS. I bet they have similar story events in your state. Also check your local library I bet they have similar event, especially for kids.

ParticipantWell that is the fastest way to find out they are related …. but if the writers do that then the show would end so let us hope it does not happen.

Welcome and bring on more theories… none of them are crazier then mine.
