ParticipantI think I’m stealing this from Matt but I really like “The Boy Who Never Grew Up”
Love that one.
I like “The Shadow” too.

ParticipantYeah, don’t trust wiki when it comes to synopsis especially since they can be edited by anyone who has an account.

ParticipantAnybody think the current Neverland is the “new” one and we’ll get the obligatory sob story of how Pan went bad and Neverland dark along with it?
I like this idea, someone suggested it on another site.
Me too. Maybe Neverland was the place we remember from our childhoods but it became dark and corrupted once people stopped believing in magic. And Henry’s going to restore it to it’s former glory. But make it better than Neverland 1.0.

ParticipantSince we got the pics and the press release, I had wondered if all of Killian’s men became pirates right along with Hook. Good catch!
Maybe. If Killian takes over as Captain after Liam dies and he becomes a pirate, I suspect he gives his crew an option. You can continue sailing with me as pirates or leave. I would love it if he even uses a line from Jack Sparrow from the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, being a pirate is freedom. .

ParticipantI re-watched the Disney movie yesterday!!!

ParticipantI re-watched The Crocodile last night and I realized something, when Rumple boarded the Jolly Roger, before we saw Killian Jones, we had this guy.

Look at him! His clothes are very similar to Killian’s navy attire.
I’ve also always been curious about the Ozzy Osbourne pirate with pink glasses. Like that guy is awesome too.

Charming wants Emma to be happy. Right now, the only guy who’s making her happy is Killian.

ParticipantAs for the title, “A New Neverland” sounds pretty straightforward. Henry’s belief jump-starts magic again in NL, once again making it a place of dreams versus nightmares.
I agree.

ParticipantThere’s a poll at the bottom. I voted and the results came out overwhelmingly at 90%!!!!!!!!!
Here’s another snippet from a different article:
Q: In flashback, is there one defining moment that steers Killian onto the path of being Hook?
A: Absolutely there is. You see the reasons why he becomes who he becomes, why he becomes a pirate and all of that. You also begin to see an element of Killian come back into Hook in this episode as well, which is a nice way to do it. It ties in with how as a young guy he was very idealistic, and the old Hook is more jaded. But the optimism begins to come back for Hook. [x]
My favorite bit is:
And also, you can establish how Killian interacts with his real father as opposed to someone that he could eventually establish as a father-in-law. It’s establishing a parallel and bond between them. Something they didn’t exactly show with Neal. .
This is a very good point because we haven’t really seen a lot of Neal/Charming bonding. In fact, the two times they’ve had scenes together, he’s been wary of him.
When the group arrives in Manhattan and Neal introduces himself, Charming has this very suspicious over-protective daddy look that he gives him and then later in the same episode, when Neal’s teasing her as she’s working with the invisible chalk, Charming steps in and asks if everything is alright. We don’t see him really connecting with Neal at all.
Here’s a snippet from Colin about why he’s helping Charming:
“He sees an element of his brother in David, I think, and that makes him want to try to help.”
— Colin O’Donoghue [x] (via gentlesleaze)
Hurt me more with your Captain Charming/CS feels why don’t you, Colin 🙁 He wants to help save Charming for Emma but there’s also this and I doubt it’s coincidence that in Hook’s flashback, we meet his brother, who he’s trying to save and in the present, we have Hook trying to help save David from the same fate. Parallels, guys. Charming reminds Hook of his brother and he also wants to help save him because he loves Emma too and doesn’t want her to lose her father..
If Neal & Emma were meant to be endgame, why bother show Hook bonding with Charming? It wouldn’t make any sense. (Because all daughters want their dads to like their boyfriend, they need their approval).
There’s set-up there for a reason.

Participant“I think it affects them both. I don’t think Hook was expecting it necessarily, and I’m not convinced Emma was expecting it either. But I don’t think either of them hate it!”
— (x) Colin O’Donoghue When asked which of the two was more affected by the kiss
“What’s good about this episode is you start to see that Killian come back into Hook and towards the end, you see Hook begin to take form in Killian.”
— Colin O’Donoghue (X), about 3×05 Good Form
