I thought about too but the mood of the scene suggests something more drastic than simply cutting down the apple tree.

It took me some time but I found it: OUAT – Dark Curse Spell text compared to Emma’s Swan’s door.
It’s a blog post from Jeff & Colleen’s fan podcast. the theory is that the text is actually the same text as the actual Dark Curse.

Leroy as far as a I can tell is standing beside David, then Mary Margaret. Henry is standing with Archie, Granny. Can’t make out who the other folks are.
I’m still holding onto “August is Baelfire theory” but I saw this theory the other day on tumblr that solves a few things:

the nightmare theory is very popular. another one I’ve read is that Regina and Snow switched bodies or something, because Mary Margaret is so cold, serious.
I didn’t realize this before but Mary Margaret and David are holding hands when David hands Emma the sword.
I seriously wish there were a better version of this video. The audio in some places is hard to hear.
what I do get though:
Emma at the large tree with everyone behind her, Charming hands her his sword maybe to kill Regina (but I had a thought that maybe that’s what everyone wants her to do) but at the last minute, maybe she changes her mind or maybe August steps in and persuades her that killing Regina isn’t the answer. or maybe even killing Regina isn’t a guarantee that the curse will be broken. like they could all remember who they are but because Regina is killed, they could still stay stuck in limbo in Storybrooke. 😯
Looks like Charming isn’t as bright as David (since it looks like the Evil Queen locks him up) and she has the apple to kill Snow White.
