Least favorite moments: The fairies buzz like bees. Disturbing. That whole fairy sequence just bugged me. Ugh. Fairies attack? Scene would have been better done (and probably cheaper) if they just showed dust raining from the sky and Grumpy going “Thanks fairies” or whatever.
The painful line deliveries during the dream sequence. I know, it was supposed to be a dream, surreal, obviously so. And that Regina apparently sees all these people like this, out to get her. But how anyone got through that scene without laughing hysterically each time they had to shout one of those ridiculous lines is beyond me. 😆 Actually Ginny’s totally grinning in the background, perhaps it’s supposed to seem evil but I wouldn’t be surprised if she just couldn’t help herself.
Favorite moments: Emma being told off by her Mommy. Awesome.
Several Regina line deliveries this week were just MADE by Lana. “I think I’d rather just get rid of her.” And “It would appear sacrifice is overrated’ in that purring patronizing voice I think we last heard when she was telling Rumpel Belle was dead.
Snow White and the Evil Queen’s apple scene. Pretty much every second of it. Especially when in response to hearing Charming will be killed, the hitch in Snow’s voice as she says “no”. And the amusement and fascination that the queen has after she sees Snow take a bite. She really conveys quite well how satisfying she finds it watching Snow suffer. Amazing work by both of them.
And I love when Emma bends down to talk to Henry, so she’s looking up at him, crying. Aw, it tugs at my angsty cold heart.

It’s driving me nuts every time I click something in a thread to go look at a picture or watch a video that I’m navigated away from here rather than just getting an additional window to look at something and then being able to click back over to my forum window and comment on it.
I’ve tried looking through the user control settings and don’t see any way to change this but please let me know if I’ve missed it.
AliasscapeParticipantI hope there’s a ton of commentaries! That tends to my favorite things. Bleh on the Blu-ray cost though. I hope there’s a deal on that.
Also why is this in Off Topic when it’s still about Once Upon a Time?
AliasscapeParticipantI get the impression fairy tale land is composed of realms like Wonderland, Oz, the Enchanted Forest, Narnia, Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory and whatever else.
The curse was cast in the Enchanted Forest and took all of that (the 4 or 5 kingdoms we’re aware of so far), however I debate if it really took all of the realms or just managed to permeate let’s say an eight or so of each of those other places. See what I couldn’t see decide was if the “sending” actually meant she sent the entire Enchanted Forest (objects, people, maybe some buildings) to what she’d transformed the Enchanted Forest into, Storybrooke. I think the boundaries of Storybrooke haven’t been fully explored and I personally think there should be like secret tunnels all underneath it a la Beauty and the Beast (80s series version), where there’s a whole other part of society because the absence of the other villains is confusing me.
AliasscapeParticipantI’m not following you. Why would where and when Emma and Pinocchio arrived in our world have any bearing on whether Storybrooke was another dimension or not?
I’m not disagreeing, just not sure I’m following the logic.
AliasscapeParticipantWhat’s interesting to me is that August is trying to get Emma to forget about her son in favor of thinking about saving an entire world. And Gepetto wanted to risk an entire world in favor of saving his son. And both times we all seem to be crying, the fate of the world is on you, save the world and put your kid second.
I also think there’s a misconception that anything a parent does for their child is automatically self-less. But people do selfish things for their own children ALL the time. I give you every single Black Friday after Thanksgiving when people are mowing down their fellow man to be sure their kid gets a talking Elmo or an X-Box for Christmas. It’s not life or death, until they trample someone.
Selfless is leaping in front of a bullet or car or train to save your kid. Selfless is handing over a kidney or whatever other organ your child needs yourself. Give up your own seat on the life raft for your kid. Go for it. Because you have the right to sacrifice your own life in favor of your child’s. But how much right do you have to sacrifice someone else’s life? Shove someone else in front of a car/bullet/train for your kid? Take someone else’s kidney because your kid desperately needs it? Knock out Joe Blow and throw him overboard so your kid gets a seat on the raft. How not-selfish is it now? You’re just trying to save your kid!
My problem with Gepetto is he was giving his son something that wasn’t his to give. The Blue Fairy was originally trying to make sure the savior would have the guidance and protection of both of her parents, maximizing her chances for survival and future curse-breakage. Saving Emma wasn’t just “Aw, let’s save a cute baby!” It was that Emma was a living breathing antidote/shield/life saving organ/liferaft and Gepetto decided the best plan was to entrust that to a 7 year old. I just can’t get behind that.
As for Emma, yeah she’s barely seen any real magic and some seriously crazy guys and a kid all have the same story. It’s not AS compelling considering that Henry has been telling that story to anyone who would listen. It’s not like he’s been secretly not telling ANYONE he thinks everyone’s a fairy tale character. He talks about it all the time. There’s no reason he couldn’t have been overheard. Regina’s evil but that doesn’t make her a fairy tale character, just a sociopath. Earthquakes and ticking clocks aren’t magical. Jefferson’s disappearance has really been the only thing that can’t be logically explained just yet. But that he just some how ran off too fast for them to see isn’t “impossible”. And yet I think she is more than halfway there because she’s acting too scared to think everyone else just must be crazy.
AliasscapeParticipantHmm, I’m debating between Snow White, Emma and Regina. I love watching all 3 characters, especially watching them interact with each other.
AliasscapeParticipantI watch it live on Sunday nights (eastern time) and then I rewatch it again on the DVR. Throughout the week, there’s a good chance I’ll watch the episode again on Hulu or on Demand or DVR. Whichever suits me at the time. (Sometimes evil weather alerts marred my DVRed broadcast in which case I want to be able to see it without those.) I plan to buy the DVDs (or probably the Blu-ray) too.
AliasscapeParticipantI kinda prefer the idea that when everyone arrived in a haze Regina had to go round up certain people and put them where she wanted them just because it’s amusing. 😆
One thing we know for sure is that 28 years ago in 1983, there’s no way Regina had left her mobile phone at the office. 🙄
AliasscapeParticipantI think your playlist is missing the Prologue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWVheammOyU
