ParticipantI think (hope) Rumple has a motivation we haven’t seen yet. The writing on this show is often flawed (See Rumple drinking the memory potion), but it’s not THIS flawed. Remember, who actually said he wanted to take over the world? Dairy Queen. What does she know? Last night Rumple didn’t say he was going to take over the world, he said the world had better not get in his way. He wants something (find a way to resurrect Baelfire? Something else?) but I don’t think it’s world domination. Also, he might steal Belle and Henry’s memories to get them out of town, but they’re gonna notice and object to a little world domination unless he rewrites their personalities. As for wanting to cleave himself from the dagger, any sane character would want that. It’s his methods that are frightening, but the motivation is perfectly rational.
So I’m playing Devil’s Advocate for now. There’s something we don’t know. But I agree we needed those cut scenes.

ParticipantDid Cruella and Rumple work in tandem to give Ursula a landlubber’s makeover or something? She seems to be wearing crocodile skin under animal spots.
*wants to see that scene*

ParticipantUm, do we know that Rumple is immune to this curse? I could see him striking the following deal.
Rumple: I want Belle and I not to go crazy.
Ingrid: And what’s in it for me?
Rumple: Do you really want the darkest version of the Dark One running around Dearie?
Let’s be honest, that’s not gonna be good for anyone. :/

ParticipantI don’t see anyone talking about this, but the way Rumple spoke his line about “Of, course, if my darling wife asks,” absolutely chilled me. Belle needed to stop and fix her marriage right then, but she ran off blithely and Hook stayed behind to address something else. If I were Belle I’d be freaked out to go home with him.
I think we need a few more scenes of “Home Life with the Stiltskins.”
Am I reading the line wrong? Was it really for the benefit of the others, not Belle, or is Rumple still tweaked about her controlling him? Or did Mr. Carlysle’s delivery perhaps not express what the writers intended?

ParticipantDepends how good you are at freezing. Maybe she is good enough to feel the shape of the lock with the ice she’s making, and expand it inside to trigger the lock to open?
What bugged me was how the edges of the Storybrook sign froze and the metal letters in the middle did not. Doesn’t metal frost over way quicker than wood?
Favorite moments: Loved the design on the Sorcerer’s hat. Excited to see the plotline about the book as something more than just a throwaway (oh, Character X wrote it). Slightly mixed feelings on the ballroom scene, but overall pleased. Kinda missed her other yellow dress, but this one swooshed nicely.

ParticipantWhoops! MatthewPaul already mentioned my theory, above. Didn’t see it.

ParticipantSo where does that leave Woody?

ParticipantI think way back when I had some idea that it would be cute to see Servant!Belle attempt to use the hat to help with her mopping, and consequently flood Rumple’s hall.
Noticed last night that “Sidney” contains the same letters as Yen-sid and Disney, but I guess this was a little naming tribute early on? Still, could be tied in somehow, I suppose.

ParticipantLol! Well, it’s nice to be appreciated. 🙂

ParticipantRegarding the hearts, perhaps there are micro-portals linking the aorta/ventricles/other parts of the extracted heart with the blood vessels in the owner’s body.
If so, no wonder Daniel and brother Frankenstein had problems. O .o
Regarding the Curse, we already know it was somewhat adapted from the last time. This version wasn’t intended to have a forgetfulness component. Possibly Regina adjusted the scale to intentionally disrupt a smaller area? Since it was primarily Snow’s baby they were trying to protect by reaching Emma, they might have decided to rip apart the lives of a slightly smaller number of peasants.
Regarding Agrabah, Prince Eric told Ariel he was traveling there, so unless he had a Pegasus sail, it’s part of the same world as EF. Not just something we learned on Twitter.
On another note, I can think of one character off the bat who would be potentially summonable by Hook, have had hundreds of years to hoard beans no one else could get to, lives in the ocean, and would probably be immune to the curse no matter where she was anyway: Ursula
No idea why she’d want the ship, but hey, it’s a thought. Maybe she heard the cry of a “poor unfortunate soul” and figured it was the sacrifice that counted.
