I agree! I don’t see Peter and Wendy as romantically linked, at least in the initial depiction of the friendship. She was a mother figure to the Lost Boys who had forgotten what that meant and she was a storyteller which is what intrigued Peter. Perhaps later stories, like Hook where Wendy grew up and eventually Peter left NL to be with her granddaughter and the like did try to establish something like that but it was in the original (and Hook isn’t a Disney film so they don’t have the rights to it, though they could play with the themes behind it). I don’t think Neal being Pan ruins Swanfire at all.
This is exactly what i was thinking. Given the amount of MOMMY ISSUES some of these characters have, I think that might be the clue to determining who Pan is.
Pan was interested in love with Wendy, he brought her to NL to be a mother – to make pockets and tell stories.
Baelfire has mommy issues. Henry has double mommy issues (though i hope his beef with Emma is settled).
If being the Pan is like a position in Neverland, I’m thinking Henry will be the next Pan like his father before him.

Wasn’t there a line in Peter Pan that goes something like this?
Peter : “Wendy, you’ve grown up?”
Wendy: “Yes, Peter. I’m ever so much more than twenty. I’ve forgotten how to fly.”
so is it possible that Wendy could be older than Peter? like much older?
That conversation was from the film Hook in which Robin Williams plays adult Peter Pan. I suppose OUAT could show young Wendy just in flashbacks but in the modern day, she is an old British woman living somewhere in London.
That’s right! but i just checked and it was also in the Broadway stage production of Peter Pan. Check out a recording of Mary Martin in Peter Pan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJFtCfHDFfw
The line is said at 1 hour 36 minutes (roughly)
PanTheManParticipantFrom all the pictures i’m seeing, I can tell they are definitely going in a darker direction for Peter Pan. The lost boys look frightful, filthy, and starving. Not like the young and carefree boys having fun adventures around Neverland. I’ve read some theories about NL being the place where the Wraith takes its captured souls, so that would line up for Neverland being dark and evil.
There’s a Gothic Fairy tale adaption of Peter Pan called The Child Theif by Brom. Here’s the link. http://www.amazon.com/The-Child-Thief-A-Novel/dp/0061671347/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1365428358&sr=8-1&keywords=the+child+thief
Basically, Peter steals children away from their homes and brings them to Neverland to fight in a war against… well, lets just say pirates. The story is fun, but it’s not the childhood story you love. It’s dark, dangerous, and disgusting at times. But i loved it. I get pretty engrossed in all Peter Pan mythology.

PanTheManParticipantSomething I’ve been thinking about is what if Peter Pan is like an official position in Neverland? Kinda like Jacob in LOST. There could be many different Pans for different generations or something. Pan and Neverland have a special relationship, so maybe Neverland chooses new Pans or something.
Baelfire may have been Peter Pan for a while, but gave it up when he left Neverland for good.
If this theory is right, I’d be willing to bet that Henry might go on to be Peter Pan, following in his father’s footsteps.
what do you think?

Perhaps Henry ends up getting sent to Neverland alone, maybe courtesy of Rumple, and becomes press ganged into being one of the Lost Boys. He would then meet Peter Pan. Whereas Peter and the Lost Boys want to stay young and play in Neverland forever, Henry wants to go home and grow up. Since Peter nad the Lost Boys are anti-adult, it wouldn’t make sense for Emma and company to be with Henry.
However, since Emma doesn’t want to leave Henry in Neverland, she finds a way to get there with Neal. Hook tags along too as their guide. Bae, perhaps being a former lost boy, would know where Peter’s hide out is whereas Hook doesn’t. Both Hook and Neal would have to go because Hook has the means to get to Neverland (his ship enchanted with fairy dust) and Neal would have the local knowledge (where Peter Pan’s hideout is).
During the course of season 3, the CaptainSwan/Swanfire triangle can play out with Hook and Bae trying to one up each other in Emma’s affections.
I like this theory, but I’m going to put my own spin on it. Given Henry’s hate for magic and mistrust of the adults in his life, I can see him running away to Neverland (perhaps just like his dad did). What if Henry stills a bean or hitches a ride with a fairy (following the immortal directions to Neverland)?
As for Emma and Bae going to Neverland to look for Henry – I like this. I also like Hook being their guide through Neverland. However, I think Hook is a grown up Peter Pan, which will be explain in season 3. So when we get to Neverland in the story’s present, I think Pan will be long gone.
PanTheManParticipantI’m just learning about Colin’s ears now! I definitely think there’s room for that evidence in this theory. I love it!
As for Baelfire being Slightly because he remembers his past – GENIUS! Thank you for sharing that bit of info! It makes so much sense!

I believe Bae is a lost boy. If he is, I think he might be Slightly. I looked up the Lost Boys in wikipedia, and it said that “unlike the other Lost Boys, he remembers his life before he was ‘lost’ ” (the portal). Neal obviously rememers his father (and I’m sure he’d remember his mother). He obviously remembers his life before he, and Gold were seperated.
There’s also one other very possible, and very convenient clue. One which again, gives credit to ingenous casting. Look at these ears:
PanTheManParticipantI’m leaning towards Baelfire being Peter Pan as well, but these writers get me all the time. It happened in LOST and in OUAT.
The whole “Hook being out for himself” characterization i think can support my theory of him being Pan. Hook was evil through and through, but Pan really was out for himself. It was Pan’s selfish nature that made Wendy so cautious about him.
No matter who is Pan, I think we can all agree there is more to Hook than what we know.
PanTheManParticipantSo it’s okay for Regina to kill her father for the curse, but’s it’s not okay for Snow to kill Regina’s mother to save most everyone. Come on, Regina. Let it go! The score is more than even at this point. Between Cora and Regina, both of Snow’s parents are dead. Snow only killed Cora.
Regina needs to start to see that she’s causing her own misery.
PanTheManParticipantI like the idea of Dorothy coming from a Land without Color like Dr. Whale.
Since Rumple wanted the slippers so much, I really think there’s a chance he could be the wicked witch… his skin is green. ish…
But Regina delievered a line in Season 1, something like – “…even if it turns my skin green…”
Chances are she’s heard of the wicked witches reputation and it’s not Rumple.
